  1. Same old same old… But yes 500 jumps (RW jumps actually) and additional 100 camera jumps is the requirement in order to film tandems. I know others posted it already… But here’s an example of a really shitty video which was actually aired on television. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zO69d-FY4c Funny story awful camera work… Where is the close shot of the freaked out face by the outside camera man? Why his helmet does appear in the shot non stop? How about his hands? Where is the close up shot when the guy is trying to pull the fake ripcord? …tandem video isn’t that simple! The camera dude probably had a quiet amount of tandem videos by the time he shot that footage, but never really learned how to fly camera for sure. ...and here's an example for a descent flying(not mine though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GgBHR7w08Q
  2. I have one of those cheper HD lenses from ebay. I compered with my Raynox 5050 using a newspaper as an image. The cheap .45 lens not as wide as the .5 Raynox. The image taken with the cheap lens is inferior compare to the Raynox. Raynox showed a very slight softening towards the edges but gave a descent picture, while the cheap lens had a some sharp image in the center and the rest of the picture was very soft. So yes HD video requires descent lensens in order to capture true "HD details" not only "HD sized video files"
  3. Some photos from recent times: http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/Nov_2010_NEW/pages/Nov_12th_10%20036.htm http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/Nov_2010_NEW/pages/Nov_12th_10%20050.htm http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/Nov_2010_NEW/pages/Nov_12th_10%20056.htm http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/Dec_2010_NEW/pages/Dec_1st_10%20004.htm http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/Dec_2010_NEW/pages/Dec_1st_10%20040.htm http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/Dec_2010_NEW/pages/Dec_1st_10%20055.htm http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/Dec_2010_NEW/pages/Dec_1st_10%20019.htm ...it's hard to get a rainbow shot in NY in December
  4. Epson!!! For colors the R1900 is the "bomb" definitely for the current B&H price http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/535138-REG/Epson_C11C698201_Stylus_Photo_R1900_Inkjet.html It's only $274 after rebate!!! Also I highly recommend to use it with continious ink system. For B&W prints the 2880 is the top in the 13inch wide format http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/555315-REG/Epson_R2880_Stylus_Photo_R2880_Inkjet.html
  5. ...yes we got to have the camera in our hands. It comes with a 18-200mm lens. On this camera because of its image sensor this 18-200mm lens gives a pretty much the same view just like any APS-C DSLR cameras. In the other hand I think for the price and the size the camera seems to me very limited. The audio side of the camera seems to me a joke, even if that built in quad microphone sounds very cool. It has very few manual controls like focus and zoom just because of the SLR kind of lens. Only interlaced video no progressive. I assume the low light performance is good because of the size of the sensor. Over all I think this camera is way too expensive for its capability. Also it's too big and bulky for its capability from the skydiving aspect. It would be an awesome camera with progressive scan, and pro features on both video and audio side. -Laszlo-
  6. Thank you so much in advance! I'm definitely interested. Please let me know!
  7. I saw that beam splitter set up. I wasn't aware the new 4/3 cameras though... The boot was pretty busy at the time and I thought those "camera bodies" were CineAltas. Also they kept talking about 3D (just like everybody else...) and they didn't mention at the time the new 4/3 cameras... But as I recall it their size with a prime lens could be "jumpable" :):):) How about price?
  8. That is true as well. But I kinda pointed out the advantage of the 7D already in a less detailed form "The only reason is to get the 7D is if you have no knowledge of photography what so ever and you need to rely 100% on the camera's automatic features." ...this includes the significantly faster burst mode too.
  9. Thank you for the info Spot! It looks pretty impressive for the price and the size. ...I can't wait to see Sony's "respond" to this practicular model though.
  10. "Not same processing" As long as we shoot JPEGs... ...but if we take RAW images then it's the same. Right?
  11. If you want to mount that size and weigh on your helmet the 5D mk-II will give you significantly more "photographic value" than the 7D. If skydiving is a major factor to chose a camera and you definitelly want to use an APS-C sensor then the T2i is a better option. The only reason is to get the 7D is if you have no knowledge of photography what so ever and you need to rely 100% on the camera's automatic features. Remember the T2i has a same sensor as the 7D, so it can take the exact same quality picture. -Laszlo-
  12. Spot, Thank you very much for the great opportunity to attend your seminars. Also many thanks to put up with some b#$$%sht with the organizers. -Laszlo-
  13. Man, There's not a significant difference between CX550 or CX100 image quality wise. In the other hand the 550 is lot more expensive, has OIS, and bottom loader. So the 550 gives you more disadvantage than advantage if you want to use it for skydiving. I just picked up a CX100 in a MINT condition on ebay for $120! -Laszlo-
  14. Here's my set up. I had to cut a piece out of the helmet though...
  15. "Not only a belief, it is a comfort. The guy at the other end of the muzzle is not only poor, he is the declared enemy. It is my job to take him out. " WTF??? I don’t believe in any religion. But I know for sure as a Christian you should forgive to your enemies not to shoot them!!! A true Christian (as far as I understand) shouldn’t have a job to kill anyone. Who would Jesus shoot? There are two types of people: -Intelligent with common sense. -Religious with dogma
  16. If you drive autamatic you still going to have at least 4 options. Drive, 1, 2, and Reverse
  17. ...finally got a chance getting away from tandems and take some real skydiving photos
  18. Hi everybody, I just need to make a clarification about this CamEye to "half moon" converter. The device DOES NOT function properly with old CamEyes, not with all of them for sure. So make sure you have CamEye-II (they came out around 2001-2002-ish) or HypeEye (the one with the light only)! -Laszlo-
  19. ...Looks crazy for me. Definitely a unique shot though. Not my best, but one of my funnyest from the recent times: http://www.laszloimage.com/2010/June_2010_NEW/pages/June_27th_10_100_9971.htm
  20. ...from this last week-end photographing a general.
  21. Because of the interest here's the picture of the converter...
  22. Pretty much yes. The adpter is a "half moon" on one end and a stero jack on the other end. I also make a version with a 4pin video jack (debrief port) so the adapter doesn't have to be unplugged all the time for dubbing/viewing videos. This adpter is well tested too, works 100%.
