  1. cheers guys, tx for the input
  2. Tx guys really appreciate it. a couple observations I made if the make any sense would be that would wings act as a sort of tripod, I find alot of sold videos are quite shaky with alot of "noise" as in unnecessary movement of the camera. also I find it very unprofessional looking when hands & feet of the camera man are popping into the frame. something that always happens when they back-fly without wings. yeah I understand they are great fliers but at the end of the day it's the final shot that matters. I think it's also a comfort thing like I can keep up with just about anybody but it is uncomfortable on the lighter end of the scale & I do loose some control in extreme slow-fall while I just want to concentrate on getting the best shot possible & you gotta kinda be in your comfort zone to do that....think I will invest in wings still would love to hear from all of you any further opinions or insight on the subject. tx again
  3. Hi Guys, I'm a photographer who just recently got into skydiving mainly because I am interested in freefall photography/videography. my dilemma now is the mixed opinions I get on flying camera with wings vs. "flying your body" I hear alot of people saying that wings are old school & that you should learn to fly your body, that you don't need them etc. on the other hand I still see a lot of awesome camera fliers using them. so if I could get any insight from all you pro camera fliers it would be much appreciated. is it better to first become a great flier before you put wings on? will they become crutch you depend on to fly with? or are they just the right tool for the trade? what has your experience been? wings or no wings
  4. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with stills cameras featuring in-body stabilization like the sony's. does it effect the image quality any? on a similar subject what about lens's with optical stabilization?
  5. yup I think I cut my wires to soon, think I'll have to get one of the converter cables, only have internet at work but I'll try to take a pic of the led end
  6. Hi Lazlo, how much would that connector adapter cost & would it work for a HC52?
  7. Hi Guys got a cam eye with a regular LANC connector but I just bought a HC52 witch has the half moon remote connector so I thot I could splice a half moon connector to the came eye but for the life of me I can't find witch wires connect to witch. would any one know how to do this or if it's even possible. I've attached pix of the half moon cable & the came eye wires tx much apreciated
  8. Hi, I'm new to the world of skydive videography so I just was wondering why does everyone use the CX100. the footage I've seen from it has not been that impressive. to my untrained eye the gopro HD output much more impressive footage and at half the price when you consider you'll need a wide angle lens & cam eye with the cx100. from what I can see the only pro's in favor of the CX100 vs the gopro for skydiving are better sound quality & a screen both of witch I can live without. & the cons in my mind are worse video quality & twice as much money & weight as the gopro hd. anyhow I'm about to put down money for one of them so any input as to what makes the cx100 superior & why is everyone flying them would be much appreciated.
  9. I'm facing that verry decision. why would you choose the cx100 over the sanyo? how did you make the cam eye? what did you not like about the VPC-FH1?
  10. sad, the screen probably uses a magnetic switch, easy enough to remove. only thing stopping me is the buttong layout on the back, would be a bitch to turn it on with gloves on & it doesn't take a cam eye
  11. 317 for the cx100 that sounds pretty good, tho I hear they are launching the cx110 in a couple months for a lower price. another plus for the sanyo is lack of optical stabilization, so no shake...tho you can't conect a cameye to it...1080p 60fps sounds too sweet...damn will i have to be the first..c'mon someone must have tried it.
  12. Hi, just wondering if anyone has had any free fall time with the Sanyo VPC-FH1 & if you have how it worked out for you. Seems to be quite an interesting CX100 alternative, same size/weight, cheaper, full 1080p 60fps. just wanted to see if anyone had any time in the sky with it b4 I strap one to my head. tx guys
