  1. By your logic, would skydivers in civilized countries use meteric altimeters?
  2. Sorry, our weight limit is 220 lbs. for AFF and 230 lbs. for tandems. Shark AFF-I/Tandem-I Skydive Elsinore
  3. So you watch your canopy inflate, right? Are you visually able to tell the difference between a bag lock and other malfunctions? You should be. One reason you are counting is to give your canopy adequate time to inflate. Ask "your" instructors for proper procedures. Shark AFF-I
  4. Sharkrig 3.0 is in!!!! It looks sick, too! Won't jump it until the new main comes in at the end of the month. Until then, 2.0 will continue to fly with an old Stiletto. Oh, and PD rocks, too! Yes, . Also owe for my 500th AFF-I jump.
  5. Over 40 jumps with the new helmet and around 20 minutes of tunnel. I still love it, but had to tighten the chin strap a little in the tunnel. Everyone wants to try it on and touch it. It's difficult to keep the finger prints off of it, too! Anyone want to buy a used Z1?!
  6. Ask your instructors. They should have this outlined in Cat. G & H of the ISP. Yes. Check your local DZ's program.
  7. Dude, how's Sharkrig 3.0 looking?!
  8. Not only is it a great container, but Kelly & Co. look after their customers.
  9. Dude, Happy Bday! We did night jumps in your honor. I'm glad that nobody took my vote.
  10. Can you imagine how the ground will rumble with it's first take off from Perris?!
  11. That's totally cool! An early Mother's Day present perhaps?
  12. Works fine in a sit, but I cannot tell you about head down. No probs diving down to a FS formation. Again, quiet with great visibility. Did I mention that it's light in weight? The shield is very sturdy and can easily be opened under canopy. Best thing to do is ask your local gear store for a demo.
  13. Just received mine! It took till the end of he day to finally jump it. After 5 tandems I got to do a sunset AFF jump, a level 5 with 90 turns. Observations: Excellent styling, light weight, and very good visibility. It's awfully quite as well. That probably has something to do with the viper pits for vent holes. It also holds up well under stress. (My student has a very flat body position coupled with assymetrical legs. He's able to hold a heading, but as soon as he begins a turn it goes to shit.) After a 720 I redocked and got kicked in the head in the process. The helmet remained in place without any noticable movement. I re-released around 9 thou and we did it all over again. This time I went for a head shot and got punched and ended up on reserve side. He did, however, pull around 5 and I had some time to bootie fly for a bit. Under canopy I was able to open and close the visor without any issues. If you are a R-dub freak and are looking for a great helmet, it has arrived.
  14. Yeah, right.... I'm banned from the message board and it just started! Does that make me the first?!
  15. Good meeting you at the hanging harness. Have fun on your cruise and go out and don't be a torpedo sponge. Shark out.
  16. Hi Mandy! Very nice! Too bad I've been locked out from all permissions. Will I be able to post? Heck, I cannot even reply to a post. Shark
  17. Our topics included basic gear checks along with familiarization with borrowed/rental gear by our S&TA, Canopy safety by Jonathan Tagle, freefly safety & gear by Chris Fiala, and basic rig maintenance by our staff rigger. Jay Stokes also gave a fatality review of recent and past incidents. We also had the hanging harness available for both students and experienced jumpers. I'm glad most everybody took advantage of the resources available. It was a busy day, informative and fun.
  18. Dude, WTF are you doing on the BEast coast?! The SoCal weather scare you away? So check this out.... went to [cough]MCAS[/cough] Miramar to visit a recon buddy. Haven't been there in years. His set up at the Q was sick, like a nice suite or something, but would you believe the O club was closed at 1959hrs? I heard that most of the squadrons are deployed but several rotorhead squadrons were resident. Apparently they don't drink ! Hey where did the Turkeys come from? VF-111? See you 'round the DZ, Pinoy Plier
  19. In that case bring for the animals, too!
  20. Yes! And as other's have mentioned you don't even need to pay for it.
  21. I hope the 14% that won't participate have other options. Complacency can be fatal. Whatever DZ you plan to go to, try to attend one of the seminars and learn something.
  22. Whatever..... Should we establish a union like the electricians do? Or maybe we should become electricians. If a skydiver wants to make more he should find another profession. Dude, give it a break.... this can be debated forever.
