  1. Better strap in..... Rain here postponed the SSL at El Snore today. I feel a Quake comin' your way! Lukily, the Shark got a great jump in on the sunset load Friday afternoon. Cali4nic8ers
  2. Okay, howabout a two way at night..... under a full moon.
  3. Hmmmmm..... I smell BEER! FFF, meet ya at the WOXOF?! L8
  4. Skybytch, The Shark will be there for the ceremonial jump! It'll have to be out of the Super Shark, though.... That's great news! FFPlaymate & Al B can *show* up, too. (Clothing is optional.)
  5. Boss Dude, FFF needs his call sign back or he may send AAA in your general direction, that is, when he's not involved in XXX.
  6. Ah, yes.... the REAL Dark Side. Get some coaching first and/or sign up for a crew camp. I had some great instructors at Perris. They'll have some crew canopies for you to demo. They are a little beefier and have straight center cell lines and cross connectors on the risers. I've only jumped the PD Lightning in 193 & 218 so I'm not sure how the others fly. Stacks and planes are pretty cool, but the side-by's and the downplane are awesome. Try it as soon as you can. I did it on my 32nd jump! (No knife, but I have one now.) Shark CCR-2113
  7. Whoa, dude... sorry man. I'm still your wingdude flying combat spread... Whadaya think? Should I splash 'em??! BTW, my coach on the 4 ways was one of the hotties from Enigma, the all babe 4 way team at El Snore.

Shouldn't that be: "Hoo-Yah?!" Congrats Z-man! Now you can make your way to NoCal, SoCal, and LoCal, the Cali Cartels. Lotsa DZs here in the golden state. Hmmm...I'm pretty new and my A number is *feeling* old. L8 Shark A-35208 B-24122 C-(whenever I can get 4 more landings within 5yds!) D-(next year before the HALOs at SkyDance) 4-Stack #5142 CCR #2113 Eagle #2369 ...and more to come!

The Shark has been fighten a chest cold for the past 2 weeks (weaks.) A lot of coughing and I think I freak some people out on the dirt dives. Haven't taken any meds before jumping although I did get a little congested on jump #3 on a 5 jump day. I guess the big thing is your sinuses(?). (Or would that be sinai?) Anyway, the sinus thing was a bitch when I flying. (No wonder they ground you.) It hurt like hell descending from altitude. I don't know 'bout your sitch. If you still want to jump you might want to keep it to hop-n-pops. For a minute I thought this was going to be another Spectre thread... (snivels)
  10. Albatross, I've just put 17 jumps on my new Spectre 190. It's a bitch to pack since it is really slick. I load it just under 1:1. The week before I demo'd a 170 which put my loading at 1.12:1 and it was faster, more manueverable than the demo 190 I had for 3 weeks. The winds were light and it really came screaming in. The 170 flies much like the Sabre 190 I tried at Perris. You might want to demo the 170 Spectre at SQ1. I'm satisfied with the 190 Spectre as I like the flying characteristics of the lower wing load. I've even gotten some long swoops (for me) on it yesterday with no wind. I will also do some crw with this canopy as well. While the canopy performance is better at a higher wing loading, I don't plan on downsizing anytime soon; at least not on my personal gear.
  11. FFF, Hmmmm, you related to Triple-F???
  12. In theory, I should be jumping over "there" since I'm in La Jolla most often. We'll see after the time change. I can probably swing by on your "Team" day on Thursday after the market closes at 1....and if ya wanna pawn off yer jump tix ya can always feedem' to the Shark. C'mon T1. You gotta be commited. I mean, don't you wanna watch the Shark jump the Frankenrig after Ghopr packs the new Spectre? Well, there's gonna be a lot of RW types 'round the dz for the Matrix thing if you still wanna hang. WC, you comin up for the 4 ways? BTW, say "hi" to the Easter Bunny for me....

You're a real fvckin' hero, gh! Do you live in cali? Are you part of the Cali Cartel? When do you find the time to post? Your DZ must get sunned out a lot keeping you from posting!
  14. Ready! Set! Go! So we had this great exit. No tension. I was inside center on the four way and we immediately transitioned to a satellite. Outside center cues and we go into a left donut. Everything is cool as I take grips on the tail and we fly into a right donut, then as I look at the hot chick on point and grip we go back to the star. We're only at 9 grand and repeat the dive flow.... 4 thousand and we 180 to break and track..... Oh, shit! SORRY, wrong thread. Thought this was the skydiving thread! L8, I'm going jumpin!
  15. They're all jumping today.... I'm sure Bunny, WhiskeyChick and T1 will respond sometime. I'll be jumping there soon, but it's hard to pull me away from my hood, El Snore; there's so much neat stuff goin on all the time.
  16. Hey Jessica, The Frankenrig is available for rent and/or borrow. I've offered others, but they seem to be afraid. JKA has free rent as she is constructing the new Shark web.... BTW, I'd only *lend* it out at my dz while I'm there. It wouldn't leave the country unless I'm strapped to it.
  17. Just after opening you may not have time to unstow the toggles, therefore you will NEED to use the risers. This will become evident when you start jumping with a lot of people. If you ever get a chance to participate in a CReW camp you will get experience flying in proximity with others as well as docking techniques. You will learn emergency proceedures in different situations always with the emphasis on safety. Otherwise, the best separation is vertical separation. A front riser turn may be safer. As always, consult your JM and/or S&TA. And sign up for a crew course so you can experience different flying characteristics of the canopy. Shark CCR-2113 BTW, the PD Lightning will still fly after a hard dock; at least in my case.

It was, ghop falls really slow....
  19. I'd hit all of them. Do some freeflyin at Perris in the morning, take the 20 minute hop to Elsinore by mid-day and do the swoop pond when the winds are comin off the lake, then drive an hour (your times may vary) to Otay and jump the border at sunset. I figure you can get 9 to 10 jumps in. So you'd start off in the SkyVan, an Otter, then a Caravan.... Yeah, come meet the gang. And if you need a packer, Grasshopper will be lurking. He's the one wearing the gang green freefly suit and T1 will be at Otay unless he's coaching Ghopr on the fine art of hop-n-pops. Oh, and if you're in the hood this weekend Matrix is hosting a 4 way camp at Elsinore. (read: beer) Edited by Shark on 3/27/01 04:42 PM.

I think I may have figured out the line twist thing. At least on mine I may have twisted the lines while stowing them in a *neat* manner. Not sure why your pack twisted, unless it was just a shitty job.
  21. Sis, A dude at Elsinore lost his in freefall. He sent the company, L&B an email and they sent him another at no cost. Just an idea. I'm sure it would help if you have the serial number, etc. HTH BTW, took mine to work today and messed around with it. Some would say fondled.
  22. I dunno, but we had a full house at El Snore after the fog lifted.

An average job, at best.... Just kidding. Rule #1 - Never talk shit about your packer Rule #2 - If you do, don't let it get back to him/her Rule #3 - Make sure your reserve is in date
