  2. Hey GH, Just HOOK the damn thing tomorrow and we'll see what happens..... BTW, we should have Bullwinkle film it and post it.

Skybaby, You're right... and I'm a pilot, too.

    LOW

Well, the ProTrack sez I was in the saddle at 1600, mainly due to the fact that I was in a freefall kiss at breakoff alt. I think I pulled at 2500 (2nd audible warning) but with the snivels of a new canopy I finally got in the harness late. A quick check of my location revealed that we were waaaaaaaaaay off fromt the dz. I picked a vacant lot behind some houses and made a great approach while barking at the dogs in the adjacent homes. The location was due to a bad spot/inexp. pilot, rather than a low pull. Some kids walked up to us and asked if we were lost and couldn't find the airport. Later, a truck from the dz got us, sparing a 1.5 mile walk. BTW, it was a 74 second freefall....

Hey Triple F, Thought this post wuz about Burgers... Sharkman
  6. GHop, You know Betsy will be on duty issuing citations.... Can't wait to watch the hook-n-swoop over the pond. BTW, we'll wait till the end of the day to pay you, and in the event you "hook it in" we will buy good beer with your money.
  7. Howabout a jump ticket for a T?
  8. HopNPop, Kak BbI pozhevaytay? Akula
  9. Maybe not by your definition, but it can have the same effect; maybe worse when done at the same low altititude. Afterall, it is a diving turn. --------------- GH, You are correct... (I hate agreeing with you.) The Hook and the Swoop are mutually exclusive. Hell, even I can swoop the Spectre....
  10. Whatabout putting some non-whuffo chicks in the pics???
  11. What if you have to hold at the outer marker??

Now you've done it..... Better put on a Nomex suit cuz the Brownie's are gonna start throwing flames! Especially the one they call the Mantis, the one that preys on Grasshoppers.
  13. Yeah, about freakin time! Who initiated the topic in the first place??? Guess it is finally shapin up on dropzone.com v2.0. Sometimes it takes The Next Generation....
  14. Zelda, A few words come to mind: Goal oriented - Didn't you have to go through AFF to get you license? Remember what it took to get there? Risk taker & Confident - This one's a given; I mean, not many people like to throw themselves at the earth from 3 miles up. Problem solver - Can I make the peas from a long spot? A Team player - Are you able to fly your slot?? Organized - Do you have a gear bag with all you equipment in order? Safety oriented - Giving gear checks to you buddies at the ramp. Creative - a freeflyer. Competitive - Are you mad when you funnel the formation? Dependable - Does your parachute have nice opening or have you packed for others? Okay, you get the point. I'm just describing skydivers, but you can relate most any job to these characteristics... Throw that in you interviewer's face! Good luck, Shark
  15. FreeFlyPlaymate, Okay, Perris or Elsinore.... Shark
  16. So Jumpergirl, If you were the *floater, who was the *diver on your linked skydive? I think the dudes would like to hear the summary and/or bullet points. Speaking of points, how many? Did you skip the dirt dive? And how long before your Dytter went off?? (Just kidding...) Think I'll have to recon our 2 otters for future accomodations... Shark
  17. T1, Yup, got my Spectre in the mail Thursday, put 1 Hop-n-Pop on Friday from 3k (ceiling too low and the bier is gone.) It's so new that it "crinkles" like a plastic bag. And when you pack it, it really slides around like suntan lotion. The only bummer is that they forgot to put the center crew lines in. No big, though. Oh, yeah, Ghopper packed the last few with no mals, but he did bust the closing loop. L8
  18. Hello Anymouse, Glad you got to jump today! I got grounded today due to a cold. I would have went to sit in the sun and watch, but was afraid that I might getting somebody sick. Sucks, too because I just got my new canopy. Got to jump it once on Friday, but only hop-n-pop'd from 3k. Saturday called for more jumps, 5 of them: an 8 way, 11 way with 2 videos, 2- 6 ways and a 5 way in which I was the beneficiary of a free fall kiss. Elsinore is home. The DZOs, staff, LOs and fellow jumpers are my extended family. Ever feel *home* sick while you're at work?? Shark PS> Next time yer there, get on Derek or Pat's LO groups for some real fun...
  19. Okay, ROAD TRIP! Looks like the Shark will make the swim to Sin City! Only problem is that I'd feel insecure leaving the Frankenrig in the room. (I'd just as well wear it around town.)
  20. GH, It's different when *you* jump from 4k instead of 14k. ie. you have more time to get the butterflies. My only fear is fucking up when people are depending on me, so I don't have time to think about being scared. And, yes, I still get butterflies, but they help me arch better.
  21. I think Sangiro better fix the "JUMP" button at the bottom of this thread...
  22. Well, I cutaway because I wanted a "Raven Saves" T-shirt of my own. Just one look at JKA in her wet one made me do it....

    What a day

Dutchboy, Congrats! I'm in the same boat (so to speak) or plane for that matter... You know: "No bucks, No Buck Rogers." I haven't "logged" a PIC hour in about the same period of time! It's pretty funny, first being a pilot, then becoming a skydiver years later. My pilot friends really call me "crazy!" They say: "You fly planes! Not jump out of them!" Some of these guys I almost consider whuffos.
