In theory, for lack of a better word, 1 jump does not make a skydiver. When I learned to fly I did not consider myself a pilot until I soloed (sp?). And you are probably not a *skydiver* until a) you enter AFF and land your own parachute. b) graduate AFF and are able to jump solo. By graduating AFF you are demonstrating that you can jumpmaster yourself as with a student pilot that has been cleared to solo. Whether it's flying or falling, you are using your *control* surfaces. The only people I consider skydivers are those that continue to jump; that includes those that jump once a month and the more frequent flyers who do up to 10 a day plus. Personally, it's up to you whether you consider yourself a skydiver with one jump, tandem or AFF.

Ya know, you should do some Hour-W with us sometime and you wont suck. (You could laugh at my *head down* flying and/or back-to-earth flying later.) And 'bout the suit, those are actually *bumpers* so as not to get injured during those hard docks. Get betta and we'll figure it out...

Good point. I planned initially on doing CReW, but I only get to it 3 times a year, so I migrated to RW w/o the C. I'll freak later when I improve my rw shit. Until then, it's a lazy boy thing for FF... Accuracy is a different story.

So me and some dudes are on the creepers and I get distracted when this chick goes by. "Hmmmm, she looks a little familiar. Looks like the cute chick from survivor, too," I tell my buds. Then on my 5th and last jump of the day I'm behind this same chick and when she mounts the plane, she has this little slogan on the back of her ass, "Bite Me." Upside down, of course. My 3 way was down first and I walk up to her, in typical Shark fashion, and say, "Hey, I didn't recognize you with clothes on!" She looks at me a little puzzled until I let her know were we've *met*. As we were walking back into the packing area I see Grasshopper and intro'd them. Yeah, dudes, she really exists! She's also much cuter in person. (Okay... you get the idea.) But it was fun. Even Carl from cdunham from Roade Island was there. Carl, it was funny doing the big ways with you and not knowing who you were! Did you get the videos? Tom took some stills. If I can get the copies, I'll scan them and send them your way. FFPM, can we still do that two way??? Shark

There's a lot of El Sonorans here at dz.com... I haven't been to Pear-ass this year but will be there on June 9th and 10th for some CReW and night jumps. Hopefully I can get my NIGHT 4 stack and/or a daytime CCS

Yeah, it's been 88 jumps since my last... I figure I need to practice, too. Also need to practice chasing a main... I'll wear my Raven t-shirt to commemorate your jump.

Pammi, If you can jump with others, do more 2 ways. Work on forward pressure (avoid backsliding), fall rate, and center point turns. It's best to do this with a point of reference (another skydiver), rather than a solo skydive. Other than that, have you done many linked exits?

Anyone have any spy info on the upcoming "Sabre 2?"

First suggestion: Have somebody else pack it the first few jumps. Most people PRO pack it as I do. I've rolled the nose a couple of times, 3 & 3 and left the center cell hanging, pushed in the end cells without rolling and leaving the center exposed, or just push the nose in and continue to pack. It depends, I guess. The best thing that works lately is the cute British chick that is packing it now.

Can't vouch for the PD176R, but I've got 1 jump on a Raven II, a green one. It opened really nice (I think) but need toggle input to stay on course. Great landing, though. (You know, this story sounds like my Spectre.)
