    Goodbye Iraq

Hooyah! Welcome back home! Hopefully those casualties weren't by the devil dogs. Get back in the air, now!!!!
  4. I was an AFFI long before I earned my TI, so I really prefer doing AFF. Yeah, you won't get as many jumps, but to me it's more about instructing and educating. The most jumps I've done in a day are 13: 6 AFF and 7 tandems.
  5. Dude, That was a good hop n pop. You should have seen some of your predecessors. The old timers even congratulated me on your smooth exit and eventual pull. Oh, yeah.... I forgot to mention the sub-terminal openings. Shark out.
  6. Yeah, as you can tell many participants are noobs and working on style and body position. This particular noob is working on his frog flying. Last Monday during the day I used the outdoor tunnel prior to the indoor one at Perris later that evening.
  7. Care to explain that to an uninformed alien for the other side of the pond? Thx a lot
  8. I concur. In SoCal we have the tube thingy and people with low jump numbers can frequent that thing more than the real thing. We did a 6 way comp and had 2 girls with low jump numbers; one had less than 150 and the other less than 250. We placed 3rd out of 7 teams. I'm the low-timer on staff since we have 4 guys with over 10,000 each, a few over 6,000, while the average is close to 2,500.

If a student wants to get a full face I recommend purchase after they obtain their A license. Again, it may restrict your vision. Hopefully by the time you have attained ~25 jumps your situational awareness increases, both in freefall and under canopy. I believe in the UK you need to have 50 jumps before you are "allowed" to fly with full face. BTW, you'll love the Mamba.
  10. Yeah, but at least it wasn't raining.
  11. I jump with No-Timers, too.
  12. Your generalizing. We have 3 different landing areas: students and A license holders, the main landing area which requires a B license or higher, and a high performance landing area including swoop pond. Each time I administer a B license test I discuss what a newbie might expect in the main landing area including pattern etiquette and dividing the area. We do not charge extra for this.
  13. Skylord, I thought you'd mention the "ramp check" that made the FNG pilot a little nervous. He'll probably renew his ALPA membership now. See you in the sky this weekend. Don't be afraid of DippyMoo, neither. Shark out.
  14. It's nice when students worship their Instructors.
  15. Judging by your picture you would be better served with a new BOC spandex. Like I mentioned, talk to Kelly to see what he could do. Technically yours was made by a different manufacturer as stated above, but he may be able to help. If not, see your local rigger.
  16. I doubt it would make any difference, but send Kelly an email if you really want it done. I have the little bridle slot on my new rig, but not on the "older" one from last year. I really don't tuck the bridle into it. Stays in fine, and less than an inch is exposed.
  17. My first time I thought the idea was to see how long you could go without passing out! Meanwhile, my buddies were coping with the after-effects of their Mexican lunch at the O club.
  18. Hence, HALOs are NOT just another skydive. I think all skydivers should do a session in the chamber.

Mamba!!!! Of course, check with your instructors first. Your peripheral vision may be restricted.
  20. More important than your choice of canopy, you should attend a canopy course first. You may reconsider your choice after working with a knowledgable coach.
