Once again-Lightly loaded high performance canopy issues
niu replied to peek's topic in Safety and Training
My 135 did that once in light turbulence, but it was not really lightly loaded.Just out of trim,I think, since it opened pretty badly during my last season. Even got to chop it once. -
Sweden:All but D-licence holders,unfortunately.

Putting a camera on my helmet for the first time
niu replied to GPSJane's topic in Photography and Video
Be sure that you can get the helmet off with one hand while under load. -
Planning on using a diaper?

Had it on my BT-40,kevlar lines were a bit fuzzy. Steering line around the right rear line group, shortening it about 4 inches/10 cm.

Ok,I`m old and out of it. But a student rig without a knife? Such basic safety measures might be outdated in today`s world of "fantastic" gadgets, but it seems pretty cheap.

Otter,a plane that could haul 18 but took off with just 10 aboard cannot be bad. Not very comfortable or fast, though.

Not that I`m skydiving anymore, but a bsbd shirt would be fine. The old one died of fatigue at least ten years ago.

So. Do we execute THESE kinda guys for desertion?
niu replied to akarunway's topic in Speakers Corner
The most recent definition I found was from 1974,and it still looks pretty much the same:http://daccessdds.un.org/doc/RESOLUTION/GEN/NR0/739/16/IMG/NR073916.pdf?OpenElement -

To each and every one his own,but why marry in the first place since it just adds to the paperwork when it`s time to separate?

But he wasn't allowed to. He doesn't have a right to protest Did you read it,all of it?As an example:This quote is the prosecutions definition of "agression":"I suggest that an "aggressor" is generally held to be that state which is the first to commit any of the following actions: (1) Declaration of war upon another state; (2) Invasion by its armed forces, with or without a declaration of war, of the territory of another state; (3) Attack by its land, naval, or air forces, with or without a declaration of war, on the territory, vessels or aircraft of another state; and (4) Provision of support to armed bands formed in the territory of another state, or refusal, notwithstanding the request of the invaded state, to take in its own territory, all the measures in its power to deprive those bands of all assistance or protection." Thus no president, emperor, king or whatever can or should do any of it. The security council, however,is not a nation. Any illegal order can and should be disobeyed, but he should simply have left the armed forces on the day of the invasion since he regarded it as illegal. -

Since any invasion or war of aggression that is not UN sanctioned is considered a no-no since at least 1945,he is right to protest. -

Don`t plan any long trips, though. Just a quarter of a mile or so.

Buying beer for "firsts" an American thing?
niu replied to jumpingjimmy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Visited the old club this easter, the case tradition seems to be alive and well here in sweden. -
If the lines are decently new, there should not be anything wrong with it. Mine started acting up at about 400 jumps on the thin(550?) microlines.

May 1984,jump 75 or so.

Heard that one a lot in Z-hills in 1991.Maybe most people did not like canopies that did exactly what one told them to do? If one tells a BT to land before oneself,it executes the command with no hesitation whatsoever.
