My parents or should I say my mom used to be that way....not as bad but almost comparable. She's starting to get to the point where she can talk about it with me and likes to hear about my progression and even wants pictures of me in freefall....so shes making progression My dad and stepmom have been cool with it. My dad even said the other day that if there was ever a day when I decided that I didnt want to skydive anymore because I was sick of it, that he would say "Are you out of your damn mind? With all the money you just spent, you better get your ass back on that plane and do some jumps." Direct quote. And my dads a preacher They're actually coming out next week to visit and watch me jump and fly in the tunnel here.... So my situation was similar but my parents are getting better at accepting it

I really dont understand how running is fun and exciting to some people....even friends of mine who do cross country. What works for me is getting drunk all over again and then usually your brain will automatically take you to where your car is.... Thats what happened when I couldnt remember my pin # for my atm card..... So it might workt he same... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----

First I apologize as I know this has come up 1,000 times.... Alright, so nows the time where its time to get a rig as I'm fucking sick of using student gear. I've read the numerous past posts on here as well as the articles about it, but figured I'd ask anyways.. Ultimately, I would like to buy something used, but I don't have an average build nor do I fly small canopies. My problem is when I find something that has the canopy size/types I want, the container is too small. I'm 6'5 and 235 lbs. I'm currently flying 260's but ready to downsize to a 230 where I'll stay for a while. My question is, is it even worth it to look for used? Should I just get a new container and used canopies and AAD and stuff? I've asked several of my instructors and friends that I trust and there seems a group for one and a group for the other.... Its a shame that more people don't see skydiving as a family thing. I'd love to get my sister to do another tandem. I'm not sure if you knew or not....but I think you have your meanings a little crossed... Its not that its "crazy cracker shit." I agree with marc and what he said as well. You also will get involved in whatever your interest are. Yes skydiving is not something that black people are gonna run out to do, but there are those who do it because we like and its fun. I do stuff because its awesome and I like it. I don't see colors, so me being the one guy on the dz doesn't bother me. And tink, to answer your question, stuff that I've been called crazy for doing and stuff that only "white" people do are: Skydiving, white water rafting, bungee jumping, hanggliding...etc. I've already told my family that whenever I get my tandem rating, they're automatically signed up to go...and my grandma was the first to agree to it Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
