i cant count how many times i spend hours at the DZ waiting for winds to come down. Its part of jumping and going through the AFF. Even now that im off AFF I tend to sepnd more time waiting then jumping. I learn alot from the more experienced jumpers. I plan the whole day to jumping so if things get slow and i cant jump then i can just hang out get to know people and soak up more knowledge. I keep thinking i should get a part time job at the DZ so i can make use of the down time. at least make some money back on the amount that goes to the gas tank going back and forth. I got me a Leedom Scream helmet and hacked off the rear goggle holder. I used it on the last few AFF jumps. My instructors made sure i had adiquate hearing. As long as they could see my eyes and i could hear them clearly. I paid less than $40 and its well suited for noggin hits. I had this as my wallpaper on my desktop for a while. I would like to find out who it belongs to so i can see if its ok to use it on a webpage to show my hobby. I had some breathing problems for the first 3-4 jumps. It faded completely and im fine till the door opens. then the heart always beats a little faster. but once im out and in the wind its back to being comfortable. The breathing issues will pass. It helped me to make sure I kept my mouth shut. If not then it was more like a cant breathe due to gag reflex. good luck and get back i the air. ASAP ExPeCt ThE uNeXpEcTeD! During AFF i wore 12lbs. and right now im wearing 14lbs. Im doing coached jumps on RW stuff. it helps alot! I purchased my weight vest off of a person from these forums. Great service by the way. The gear shop at the DZ also offers weight belts, but i got the vest before i knew they had belts. i like my vest. Good luck on getting up to speed. I was in the same boat. UPS requires it to be shipped 1 day priority. Thats the only option. Im dealing with this now as i want to send my XD9 out for a trigger job. Its about $45 one way. [accessing back of brain] Her name was Pearl ( what a name huh?) we were both 15. dad's girlfriend didnt trust me and my brother to watch her kids so they got the girl down the street to baby sit. long story short the kids were asleep on the top bunk and one (the oldest one) next to us on the bottom queen size bed. it was over to quick and i think the oldest one acted like she was asleep. those were the days. wonder what ever happened to Pearl?
