I got my last 3 jumps for AFF over the last couple days, so since AFF 7 is complete. looks like i get to make that first jump alone. hopefully next weekend! time to get out the door and do absolutly nothing but enjoy the free space. then land, repack and repeat! before anyone says it..... i know... iknow ExPeCt ThE uNeXpEcTeD! im young and the surgery and recovery time was short. I have a friend that is in his 50's at work and his recovery time was about 2 weeks, compared to my 1 week. I would take it easy for at least a week, and then over the course of the next week take it easy on lifting heavy things or doing any power moves. Remember this... Shitting will hurt for a few days (stomach muscles) laughing will hurt for a few days(stomach muscles) trying to get into and out of any chairs will be really bad the first few days! (stomach muscles) edit: forgot to mention the best way to get in and out of the chairs/seats. ( Hover and drop to get in, Roll to get out!!) thats the best way to explain it. u will see. and the worst part... when the get done and u look down at ur "unit" it will be black and blue. its just a fact of the surgery. if its not discolored, then they were one hell of a surgeon. it doesnt hurt, just annoying. makes u hope they didnt fondle you, unless it was a hot nurse. the nurse will shave you so be prepared for that as well. u will probably be out when they do it. wont take to long to recovery so get it done and dont wait! the longer u wait, the harder the recovery will be. the doctor will probably tell u go home after the surgery and go to bed, but before the end of the day to try to walk around some. u can get bottles of Dublin Dr.Pepper in DFW airport shops. mmmmm Dublin Dr. Pepper. The Chicken Express chain over here also sells Dublin Dr.Pepper in thier fountains. Well some of them anyway... i dont own a tig welder for this reason. i know i wouldnt stop building stuff. My opinion... If u have the time, u can include the kids with anything u do. I remember cleaning parts for my dad while he was doin engine installs. They will always think thier dad is cool for the things he can do. if ur kids are 5 or older, get a lil 50cc dirt bike. Skydiving is dangerous. I told my grandmother that it wasnt that bad to eleviate her fears. All the while I understand the risk I take everytime I leave the aircraft in a self induced freefall. I am slowely trying to get my point across to her that everyone dies sometime, i just want to live before i do and Skydivers are not out to kill them selfs. They are out to enjoy life. Its a slow process and i almost regret telling her that it "isnt that bad". I know with jump numbers she will understand beter and I know currency is the best way to keep EPs in the noggin. If i were in your shoes, it looks like a win/loose situation. If ur parents are funding u in any way then they can unfund you. Yes u are 18 and yes u do have the ability to make ur own decisions.
