i think i have to disagree It seems i will be going the cheap route and getting the Leedom Scream helmet in Carbon Fiber. Ill just put some of that 200mph speed tape on the back to cover the goggle strap slot on the rear of the helmet. at 80USD brand new on ebay, i shouldnt be complaining and they are snell certified

i had the same jitters after i was held up by bad weather for a month. I passed up a chance cause i was kinda tired, but more or less i chickened out inside my head. i just used the winds and being tired as an excuss. I thought about it and knew all the fearwas in my head and finally decided. "fck it im jumpin today" so geared up , for the first time in over a month, and out to the plane i went. had hyperventelation problems all the way up. this had to be my first attempt at lvl 4 were i had to climb out of the plane before leaving it.... but once out and knees in the wind it was all over the fear was gone and the grin was on. All that fun factor came back. Then had a stand up landing as an added bonus. got back in the hanger and said " i dont care if i pass or fail, i stood that one up" well, dam the luc. now i got to do lvl 5 but i just keep telling myself "its just the same except turning all the way around" good luck conquering ur fear. i know u dont want to hear it, but i think its all in your head. not a doctor or brain surgon(sp?) so i couldnt give u a scientific explination with all the cool words as to why ur brain is making u feel that way if i wanted to. edit: fixed typos i need typing classes... In my opinion... Im new to the sport with 7 jumps. I wasnt thrilled about seeing that video clip, but i wanted to see it anyway. I am glad i did see it. I know what i am getting myself into and that is my choice. Im not out to kill myself, but I feel it is important to see the "darker" side of any activity that has risks involved. When u go through drivers ed they show u crash pics. To make u realize what responsability u are undertaking. Same with motorcycle saftey training. I have seen some horrible vids of motorcycle crashes. a high percentage were the rider didnt make it. It makes me realize that I can easily kill myself if I loose focus or take the ride for granted. Same rules apply to skydiving. when i approach a friend that wants to try it out, i let them make that decision. I dont peer pressure them till they do it. I feel that would be bad on my concience(sp?) if they went in. I fully respect all the risks involved and I know that oneday i will see someone go in with my own eyes. I cant say how i will react, but i know i will deal with it when the time comes. I know it wont make me stop wanting to persue this sport. i remember a few months ago a thread were someone was going to try that again, but cat in a cage and hold the cage apon opening. or something to that nature. just to watch the cats behavior on trying to land on its feet during an extended freefall. i was cusious if it would learn not to over correct in that state sad to hear the other cat cratered. i guess the incident report would say operator error.
