  1. "Where? " There, right there, it is right under your nose
  2. Freddy Heineken, the patriarch of the Heineken Family and company passed away yesterday in his house in Noordwijk, The Netherlands at age of 78. I am sure many a skydiver has had a couple of his brews. I'll be sure to have one tonight, in his honour...... SkyDekker PS. Maybe next time I should read the threads before posting. That way I would notice that someone had already beat me to it...... "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa
  3. hey jayhfx, Thanks for your response. I do know the names of the various dz's around here. I was hoping for people out there knowing something about their reputation, attitude, quality of instruction. Stuff like that. 5. I hope there are some Ontarians lurking the boards who can help me with my question. I have done 4 SL jumps at STI outside of Barrie. Since that is a 3 hour drive from my house and I know there are (albeit smaller) DZ's closer to my home in St. Catharines. This summer I want to start and finnish an AFF program, so the DZ has to offer that option. Anybody out there have any suggestions for me???? 8. I quit cold turkey on January 15th, 2001 at 8:00 pm, walking into the ER because I kept passing out while driving my car. After smoking more than 1 pack a day for 15 years (I started when I was twelve lighting cigs for my mother) and the nurse telling me she could not her my breath sounds because of the gargle my lungs were making, I decided it was enough. All the praise should go to my fiance who bore the brunt of my abuse during the first 6 weeks. The cravings get milder and further apart, but they are still there almost 1 year later. Now I quit smoking, I lost 40 lbs and feel great. It can be done...hang in there Chris, we are all cheering for ya.... 9. ok, ok, you guys have gotten me all curious now. Since I live in Canada and have no clue what any of these DZ's are like........what's up with Cedartown?????....anyone willing to talk
  10. This is starting to sound (read) like an echo, but I have to agree with the general consensus on this thread. As you said yourself, people cannot expect you to change. Hence, you can also not expect others to change, ie. your parents' attitude towards pot smoking. Growing up in Holland, with very liberal views of pot and other soft drugs, I agree with you that there is no physical addiction to pot smoking. There is however a definite mental addiction. And give me a break, how can you say it does not affect you??? Why the hell do you smoke it???? I would suggest that you asve this post and the replies, print it and keep it in a safe place. Then 10 years form now, find it and read it. You will either laugh your ass off, or be too stoned to understand it. One last word, if you live in someone's house and they give oyu money, they set the rules. You don't like that, then don't live in their house and don't take their money. I hope and am sure it will all work out for you. You may want to start with changing your writing style just a little bit. It may make it easier for not so smart people like myself to read. 22. Arghh, don't even get me started on religion. I don't agree with Marx on most things he wrote, but religion truly is the opium of the people. These problems of wanting to convert the entire world to ones own religion are not Islam's. Just look at how most Christian churches go about their business. Just see how the Vatican treated the jews during WWII. Just read Falwell's response to the Sept. 11 attacks, etc etc. Whenever groups start setting rules and regs, their will be people, fundamentalists, within those groups who will take it to the extreme. It happens in every group...... Now, someone please blow Osama's head off his shoulders!!! Just my 0.02c SkyDekker "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa
  23. Funny you would ask that. I just had my third one done not too long ago and I noticed that I got really really sweaty palms during the whole process. The tatoo artist said that that is quite normal and that he has lots of people that sweat quite heavily. I wonder why that is, anybody know?
