  1. It comes down to what you want in an opening. For me I've used the same RDS for atleast a half dozen different canopies and have had no complaints about the opening. I don't think slider size is as rocket science as some make it out to be. I've used Precision aero's RDS on a VX 85 and also the same RDS on a JVX 75. Its the same slider I've used on my Xaos 68 and then the same slider I've used on a canopy as big as a Sabre 135 All with comfortable opening. Edit: no pun intended in the first sentance Na' Cho' Cheese
  2. I agree. I've gone through 3 neptunes in the past year and half. One due to water damage, another time on a jump it blanked out, and just recently the thing just won't turn on. New batteries don't fix the problems but luckily the service of ALti-2 is excellent. I like the neptune when it works because it has all the features of L&B in one. But I did have to buy a viso. 3. Background: I've made lots of transactions through dropzone.com and its how all my friends and I sell gear. There have been interesting ways I've seen things get shipped. For instance what things to send with different parts of gear. When sending/recieving a harness/container You should recieve the harness and container as described. You should also get the main risers with toggles, the main d-bag with pilot chute, the reserve toggles, and the reserve freebag and pilotchute that goes with the specific harness and container. Too many times have I recieved rigs that have come without risers. I've gotten a freebag from a 1970's Racer and I thought I would be getting a 2003 infinity, etc. When sending/recieving a main/reserve canopy You ship the actual airfoil, the lines, the slider, and the links. Some form of attaching the lines and the risers. You do not need to send a d-bag with the canopy. Risers are not meant to be sent with tthe canopy. I've recieved a lot of canopies without links. Whats the deal? has something changed that I don't know? Just send the links; it makes it so much easier to put on risers when there are some form of links (rapide links, Soft links, slinks) Na' Cho' Cheese
  4. :15:0 did 12 videos to dig myself out of debt. One demo into a cancer fund raiser into a foot ball field (with my xaos 68) One tandem to help my friend get his tandem rating And one VRW dive blocks D-C-F *8pts. AND I'm officially out of school and officially a senior! YAY for ME! Na' Cho' Cheese
  5. learn to pack the parachutes. Spend Friday and all day Saturday packing parachutes, then jump on Sunday. Go to the dropzone and ask who teaches the packing. I packed parachutes and it got me this far. If not expect to pay like 5K after everything is said and done. Na' Cho' Cheese
  6. but thats just for qualifiers. Keep in mind the only thing that is really changing is the way you get to the CPC championships. For me (and others) its hard to find a CPC meet to go to. Regional CPC's are dwindling and I'm finding myself traveling 1200 miles for a 1 day event. Yes some can do it but I would think that not everyone. I agree that hitting the gates 3 times is not much of a requirement but what else would you propose? I like the original thing that Jim which was that you just had to go to one cpc and then your good. Na' Cho' Cheese
  7. stack all the parachutists in order from january of this year to now and look at the bindings Na' Cho' Cheese

  11. *looks left... *looks right... *looks behind... *laughs No I heard that they will still have a boogie but with 3 182's shared with 80 tandems Na' Cho' Cheese
  12. $22 for 13.5K in a Twin Otter Na' Cho' Cheese
  13. I'll get on a tandem with ya. Bring your swoop rig for our new course! Na' Cho' Cheese
  14. dude! you had to go looking for that shizer! Na' Cho' Cheese
  15. Thats kind of like one big oxy moron. non skydiving helmets don't really cross over to well into skydiving yet the skydiving specific helmets don't meet the standards that swoopers want. Its almost like you have to sacrifice some qualities of one to gain another. For me I use a factory diver with the shield removed. Great visibility, comfortable, but like you said has little protection in case of hard impact (but probably just as much or more as a mindwarp) Na' Cho' Cheese
  16. Mark On the camera and a mark on the helmet. Sounds shady but I've had no alignment problems. Na' Cho' Cheese
  17. YES IMO there's better mounts then a gold member. It will work but it will look sloppy with the sides hanging over. I've seen cookies flat lock mount really clean on RAWA's. I personally prefer no quick release. I just use a thumb screw through the bottom. Its nice and flush and only takes a second or two longer to get on and off. Na' Cho' Cheese
  18. The paragliding industry has it all figured out! They offer standard colors for their different types of wings and sizes. And all harness types are premade. It cuts down on delivery times (practically shipped when ordered). And the price is way lower relative to skydiving equipment. Na' Cho' Cheese
  19. Started 3 years ago when I was 14. So obviously was still living mostly on someone elses money. Lots and lots of packing paid for my static line course and pretty much my rig. After that I jumped and packed as much as I could afford for a year. Then started doing video for the dropzone. I got my jumps paid for and bonus money for fun jumping. When I turn 18 this coming up winter I will have every rating. This could be used as a way for working through college too. Na' Cho' Cheese
  20. It would have been Wills at Air Adventures West or Daves. I'm sure Jones sold it to Will a few years earlier than 97. But then again if it was Wills, it would be hard to track down the information for the rig Na' Cho' Cheese
  21. AW crap you beat me. Congratulations!!!! I will be joining you hear in the next couple of weeks. About to take my written here very shortly. Na' Cho' Cheese
