Initiating harness turns
packing_jarrett replied to StreetScooby's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I do harness turns by leaning in the direction i want to turn. Na' Cho' Cheese -
Aloha. warning this post may sound a little ignorant. I've been out of the wingsuit loop for about a year and am wanting to hit it hard again in the upcoming months. I'm looking for a new wingsuit and am overwhelmed with all the new data, styles, manuf, models, etc. Its not like it was a couple years ago or even several months ago with all the new shtuff popping up. My main focus would be just solo performance jumps but something that isn't so ridiculous that I couldn't flock with. My previous suit was an S-fly expert that I liked but it seems with the current trend that if you're not a complete bad ass then the s-fly just can't hold up. I'm about 175 out the door and stand at a tall 5'9'' and don't need the "fatboy help" to stay up as i do have experience flying the wang suits (about 200 jumps) I guess i'm looking forward to some links to some models that people are happy with and are reputable (not some shady or small manuf). Thanks in advance, jarrett Na' Cho' Cheese

Herbert John Eskelson - "Binky"
packing_jarrett replied to JohnMitchell's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
Herb though painfully obnoxious most of the time is one of my good friends. We spent a few seasons jumping together both skydiving and base jumping in WA. Recently he got me set up with a killer job at skydive hawaii and kinda took me under his wing so to speak. He is a very generous person with a big heart. He will not be forgotten. My thoughts go out to our other friends, parents, siblings, and his 2 kids Kaylen and Riley. Na' Cho' Cheese -
Flying a Storm with Lightning?
packing_jarrett replied to andyturner's topic in Canopy Relative Work
I've done it a few times. Storm 107 loaded 1.6 and a lighting 126 loaded similarly. extra links in the front for the storm and extra links in the back for lighting will help a lot too. Na' Cho' Cheese -
Going Horizontal for distance
packing_jarrett replied to fr33flyr's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp41SAUZ_Zs There's no way it can help that much because when most start going horizontal is after they transition to toggles and at that point your start slowing down pretty rapidly anyways. But it feels so natural Na' Cho' Cheese -
I believe its $100 to have the velcro converted to magnets. Na' Cho' Cheese

All righty... starting to get slightly frantic. No one has hit me up about a ride for tomorrow. I'm dependent on someone picking me up because I can't rent a car even if I wanted to. There has to be someone in the area thats headed to the dz Na' Cho' Cheese

Could still use a ride Na' Cho' Cheese

Yep flying in Friday (5/8) about 11AM and to keep from getting stranded; I'm asking the nice folks on dropzone.com to get me from the Phoenix Airport to Eloy. Let me know who can do what for me.... Thanks a bunch.

Thinking about packing my own reserve.
packing_jarrett replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Gear and Rigging
its a requirement. I bet you couldn't do it anyways...just for fun have a rigger watch you do it and be surprised at what tools you would need just to close it. edit: you actually don't need a rigger to pack it you just need a rigger to pack it/ watch you pack it so it is airworthy. So actually go knock yourself out but you probably shouldn't be jumping it. -

V304 Micron packing problem PLEASE READ!
packing_jarrett replied to RPetrie's topic in Gear and Rigging
try repacking it. Try an optimum 106. Try it without the cypres. And like you said, upt says it will fit. If all else fails you should be able to send them the system and pay them to pack it. http://www.uptvector.com/PDF/Sizing-Chart.pdf Na' Cho' Cheese -
Can't speak for this upcoming season but last year bundy was rockin it pretty good at perris with a few cpc meets. The circuit lives on lol Na' Cho' Cheese

Ethics: dude base is changing for better and for worse. You can try to stop it but it is inevitable. Its been turning into a yuppie sport more and more for the past decade ( I know I'm one of them). I think the baseR is a fun thing for skydivers to use and I think it also helps slightly with getting familiar with jumping your base packjobs out of planes. Of course it does not subsitute for true base course but is nice for a little pre course activity Na' Cho' Cheese

Cool. Thats your obinion. I disagree. but I do agree with most of you in saying freefly friendly is where your shit doesn't come apart in freefall regardless of body position and speed (within reason). Velcro though can maintain its "freefly friendliness" if its kept in somewhat decent shape. Velcro is strong in many applications. Na' Cho' Cheese

MTV Putting skydivers in jeopardy
packing_jarrett replied to gsxrjumper720's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
the palms basing was pretty BA! can't tell if it was setup or not. Very cool either way. The grand canyon jumps were also awesome other than the close call at the end. Good for him on staying alive to make another episode. Na' Cho' Cheese
