  2. katana to a velocity will be an easy transition. start of with a similar sized crossbrace for your first few jumps until your recognize the differences between non xbrace and braced canopies. If what you say about your katana is true it sounds like your more than ready. pull high and notice how much overturn the velocity has and how much more it dives after a turn. Stay safe have fun. Oh and to edit: If you notice people taking a close look at their palm after asking for advice you shouldn't have asked them Na' Cho' Cheese

  4. in my opinion the best RDS or removable slider is still made by precision. The best rings and the removal and hookup is still the quickest and cleanest BY FAR and I think they're the least expensive Na' Cho' Cheese
  5. Ive used my PD 99 and raven 109 a couple times without problems. I will also add that I don't practice the- getting stable before reserve pull bs. cutwaway pull the reserve is my emergency procedure. This has left me with line twists on spinning malls from highly loaded crossbraced canopies. even with a wingloading of 1.6-1.8 the nice thing about 7 cells is the line twists come undone without input. 6. Lots of people ask how I land. Well here ya go. Sabre 1 135. I also have a sharpchuter 245 for accuracy landings. some of the landing you see on the sabre 135 my physical therapists would not be happy http://www.facebook.com/jarrett98591#!/video/video.php?v=1587582429078&comments http://www.facebook.com/jarrett98591#!/video/video.php?v=1587574228873&comments http://www.facebook.com/jarrett98591#!/video/video.php?v=1599041515548&comments Na' Cho' Cheese

  8. that sounds like a good time. Will have to put zhills as one of my destinations. Hope to see you around maybe for a 2 way or something. There's a few of us out there now we can get in on a 3 or 4 way. Na' Cho' Cheese

  10. no I don't wear braces but secure my knees together with a piece of foam to keep my legs at about shoulder width. Na' Cho' Cheese
  11. this is what i sent to the dzo. Jumping out of a 182 is not hard or dangerous it just requires extra attention and a little bit of help. When I jump out of the 182 the hardest part is getting in. Usually I sit next to the pilot with my legs toward the door. when its time to jump I have a fellow jumper swing my legs out and I sit on the edge of the door. 9 times out of 10 my feet rest on the step/gear strut naturally. Now with a good count and with team work from the another jumper I pull myself out while they lift and push. It works out nicely to a diving exit. I've also had the helping jumper climb out before me and help pull me by my chest strap out the door as well. Both seem to work equally well. This stuff isn't rocket science. When you actually look at it you'll realize its no big deal :) Na' Cho' Cheese

  16. dont know if you guys are on facebook but a good friend and skydiver posted a video of our 2 way yesterday so you can see how much control I have in ff and landing. VIDEO Na' Cho' Cheese
  17. yep. I have one faa card that shows my riggers ticket. and another faa card with my pilots license. each rating you get another card I think. Na' Cho' Cheese
  18. it would be nice to save the $300 on the cutters but I read the 2 pin design keeps the cap nice and tight but does not increase the pull force, unlike the reflex/ teardrop. makes sense. I like my classic racers. Na' Cho' Cheese
  19. thanks for the welcome man. Yeah I've been recovering from everything so couldn't hop on ship sooner. Did a tandem a couple months ago and thats about it. as far a the technical details go I really can't say for certain. I was trying to groundlaunch fly away and the do a cutaway to base canopy thing. other then what happened with the cutaway thing sucks balls lol. I was using an apex dp (base rig) with extra rings that was hooked up to a xaos 88. Didn't have hard housing but routed it through the harness container like if there were housings and sealed up all the snag areas so the cables wouldn't pull through. well jostling around before the launch must have done it. I was under canopy for about 10 seconds before the right riser released (story of my life lol). Didnt even hesitate a nano second before pulling the base pilot chute. surprisingly the decent rate wasn't as fast as one would think and didn't inflate shit. I literally was shaking the blackjack 260 all the way to impact (think about the oldschool pull and punch) fell about 200 ft onto the mountain side. knocked unconscious and then tumbled down another 50 ft before slamming into a stump. so thats that story. as for skydiving now? not too big of a deal. Still need some friends to help lift me into the plane. Backflying is where its at right now. I can belly fly just fine but with the position of my legs and that I only weigh 135lbs I fall at about 110mph. and for landing I'm jumping a 170 at the moment. so landings are super soft. its funny because its like my feet touch the ground and I'm standing on them for a second before I collapse into a plf. eventually when I start downsizing again I'll clip my legs up. but for right now I like to make it simple. the little device my dad made a few years ago for a paraplegic tandem. I just use it for padding between my legs. Na' Cho' Cheese
  20. just wanted to post that its pretty fun and recommend anyone to try it. I had 3000 skydives before my accident and just got back in the air this weekend. Na' Cho' Cheese
  21. I went last year and it was super duper fun. would recommend it to any freeflyer. I love eloy and friends. Na' Cho' Cheese
  22. in Hawaii its not unusual to take a sub 100lbs student. My smallest was an 80lbs 4'5'' Japanese woman. Harness fit just fine. the only problem is that on the island it gets really windy and weighing only 120lbs myself the landings can get a little tricky. Na' Cho' Cheese
