  1. No debate or denial of your math skills. If in your opinion that makes me part of the one percent in my country, well, I have no words. Nonetheless, thank you for your observation and unsolicited counsel. My response was in direct relation to the claim by a specific poster who claimed that nobody could "know" the consequence of the vote in the UK and subsequent market response. I experienced and obviously do "know" one specific consequence on a very personal level. And judging from a couple of other responses, I am not alone.
  2. Respectfully; I log on to Dropzone. com, not JesusEvangelists.com. I thought this place was primarily about "hot skydives" and other activity-related stuff.
  3. You are so clueless it is painful. No one knows what the consequences are. I KNOW that my portfolio has shed so much value since Thursday evening through to this morning, it equates to almost three decent homes within 30 minutes of Skydive AZ. And I am NOT part of the damned 1%. Lovely.
  4. These winter rescue flights to Antarctica are usually contracted to Canadian operator Ken Borek Aviation, based in Calgary, Alberta. Borek owns the world's largest civilian Twin Otter fleet and flies world-wide from tourists in the Maldives and Greece though to scheduled service to Resolute, NWT. One of my former jump-aircraft pilots moved to Borek from our operation and was the co-pilot that rescued Dr. Ron Shemenski from the Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station in the first ever rescue from the South Pole during polar winter. A few US-based skydiving Otters that have required the 25K hour maintenance to their wing structures have had the work performed in Calgary by Borek. And more than a few Canadian skydivers are, or have been, Borek employees. Their fleet: Turbine DC-3: 7 King Air: 7 Beech 99: 2 Beech 1900: 1 DHC-6 Otter: 26
  5. Let's not forget the Seventh Day Adventists, fine God-fearing folk that they are.
  6. Yes, unfortunately. We are not immune.
  7. From my perspective, the most brief yet cogent statement I have encountered in a long time. Thank you. John
  8. We might look like Americans, speak like Americans, subjected to overwhelming quantities of American television & news programming and Hollywood movies, but culturally we are very different from Americans. What currently works up here (and we do have citizens who really wish we had a version of your 2nd Amendment - some who post here, in fact), will never work in your country. In simplistic terms, we were fur-traders with long-guns. Not cowboys wearing six-shooters from dime-store novels. John
  9. Try this link, Clive - http://cspa.ca/en/dropzones Enjoy your visit! John
  10. Sheesh Ken... in the USA, Mr. Harper would be considered somewhat to the left of Mohandas Gandhi. (Besides, we're not allowed to express our foreign opinions!) John
  11. Thanks for the info, Mark! Regards, John
  12. Rest secure in the knowledge that you have men standing a post to protect your nation. Article #1: http://tinyurl.com/zfdg2ob Article #2: http://tinyurl.com/hg5g9bp I flirted with the idea of posting this in the Women's Forum.
  13. Well played. Sure is If you are avoiding the topic Let's see, he made a comment utilizing sarcasm (a form of humour) that addressed wasted tax dollars and alluded to potential corruption in US military budgeting and spending. Two out of three is good enough for me. Or was the topic, in your opinion, exclusive to criticizing the Green Energy movement? I'm so confused. John You mean the green energy hoax Hoax, movement, policy... whatever. With the absolute myriad of problems your nation is facing, THIS is the one you feel is most critical and worthy of hanging your hats on? Fair enough. Your bat, your ball. Froth away... John

  15. Am I a bad Canadian for not knowing it was Victoria Day??? Typical Quebecois.
  16. Am I missing something in this discussion? Why even discuss it? Judging from recent developments, wouldn't one of your louder current candidates seeking the Presidency already have The Best plan to address these dregs in your society? I think he could make them pay for any costs too. Problem solved, crisis averted. No need to talk about it. Just vote for him.
  17. And I am stunned that the 2015/16 evolution of presidential hopefuls represented the best that a nation of 350 million people can offer. I think your country (and our world) would be much better off if y'all chose better candidates across the political spectrum.
  18. What was that old saying? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...
  19. If you only indicate a first choice, leaving a second choice blank, is your ballot discarded?
  20. Really? IIRC, that was about you and some of your 4-wheeler-club friends driving up to do some cleanup wasn't it? I think that part may have disappeared in one of your subsequent edits. That is very generous - every little bit helps. Regards, John
  21. And they're muslims, too. Imagine that. Syrian refugees across Calgary are now giving what little they have to northern Albertans, after Khanchet posted an appeal in Arabic on a private Facebook group the newcomers created and frequent. “(Canadians) gave us everything. And now it’s time to return the favour,” she wrote. A fellow Syrian refugee translated and shared Khanchet’s post with a wider community on the Syrian Refugee Support Group page, and within hours offers of help came in from new Canadians determined to give back to their new home. source: http://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/we-understand-what-theyre-feeling-syrian-refugees-in-calgary-step-up-to-help-fort-mcmurray-fire-evacuees
