  1. Hi Nor, My wife Peggy says for the "crunchy effect" to put some grease in the skillet and heat it up before you put the biscuits in. 'Good ole NC Southern cookin'. Some hog fat or bacon grease would do fine! For more good 'ole down home cookin' get a copy of "White Trash Cooking" by Ernest Matthew Mickler. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  2. Hi Sky, Yup, been there, done that, took the T-shirt off. Nude Beaches, Nudist camps, nekkid skydive and night, nekkid, co-ed, dance around the bonfire with the band playing, world record at the SCR stumbles, ground star!! Yer' post jolted some brain cells that havn't been jolted in a while!! Ya' shoulda' been there, San Diego in the early 70's(right after the purple hazy 60's) Blacks Beach down at LaJolla as the song goes,"Blacks Beach where everyone goes, and you don't need any buttons or bows!!" Anyone remember the "Buff Divers!!" some are alive and well and still jump regular. 'Nekkid jumping into the Tree House Nudist ranch ?? 'The nekkid 20 way attempt at old Elsinore for that "Nude Beer" commercial?? After a long HOT summer, they finally got it together to do it the first weekend in Fall when it got""COLD!!"" hahahahah My wife at the time Chris went front float out of the DC-3 and said she froze her boobies on the side of the plane!! What fun they had!! Jump# 1559 25JUNE83(Summersoltace), Scare-us-valley,me,Lizard Fred Kahl,Tony Dominico, Kate Cooper,Annie, Jana, Mandy Vid by Leo 8-way co-ed bare ass SCR only got 7 but FUN!!! 3. Hi Red, Well I don't think you've seen what most BASE rigs look like? For starters with jumping from devices that have "N" numbers on them try reading FAR Part 105.43 in full. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  4. Hi Sherm, AAD or no AAD it does not matter!! To Quote Mike "Sparky" Owens, "You are not now nor will you ever be good enough not to die in this sport!" An AAD, RSL, LHR (a.k.a. Jesus Cord), Sky hook and or what ever will NOT in and of itself save your miserable life! I personally don't have one. MY choice. As far as AAD's, they are a good "Back up" device and that's that. One thing I've noticed over the last few years is the number of jumpers who claim to refuse to skydive unless they have an operational AAD on their rig when they jump!! Only thing I can say is that they have a real good false sense of security with one!! That will kill them faster than not having an AAD!!!! Got that? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  5. Hi Bof, Congrats to Joe D'!!! Time sure flys when yer' havin' fun!! Just looked in the archives and found the photo of JD, myself, T-Squared, Slocum, Bob Schendler, Dave Rickerby, Barry and a whole bunch more group shot at the '87 Mardi Gras Boogie in Covington LA!! WOW!! 21 yearsago! Congrats again to Joe!!!!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  6. Hi Guppie, 'Ya coulda' bet yer' reserve rip cord that some whuff at the office was going to say sumthin' like that. It never fails and I've had the same gig at the shop many times, some even when there wasn't an incident. They go on about how "Dangerous" skydiving is and that our death is inevetable...blah....blah... etc..and how long have you been jumping?? "44 years." (or however many at the time) ..........I say.......and they just stand there and work their jaw but don't know how to answer. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  7. Hi Smooth, What a trip with the T-shirts!! 'Got a bunch in a drawer that I don't wear anymore and a closet full of the ones I do!! When I left CA in '96 I gave away a big bunch and hardly dented my stash!! Now to get my camera out and photo & post some of mine!! 'Have to start with the "T" from the first 10-man chute out at the Gulch!! '73. onward. BTW, you from the N.O. area?? I started jumping with Southland Skydivers at Hammond airport in '64. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  8. Hi Ralf, Go see your Opto dude ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you like your current "Quality of life" being able to skydive regular you will do as I say!!! To skydive regular you need a good pair of (atleast one!!) eye. Injury's are so insidious!! Back in '85 'was on a 6way at Scare-us-valley hanging rear float on the twin otter. Weaver goes out the door on exit and wacks me in the eye!! "Weave, you hit me in the eye!!" "Sorry, dude!!" Well that was Sunday and Wednesday I just happened to have to have an appt. for an eye exam for my glasses. They do a pressure check SOP and left eye is fine but right eye is 32 mm/hg!!!!!!!!! "GLAUCOMA!!!!!"(from the trauma of the hit) Got that!! That was 23 years ago and I can still see out of both eyes because of medical intervention!! Had I "not" gone to the eye doc when I did I'd probably be wearing a patch over my right eye!! Eye drops are cheap compared to the cost of eyesight..."PRICELESS!!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  9. Hi Lady-d, Tonight it's "Old Crow" and diet Pepsi with Bush lite chasers!! Before anyone starts gagging!!, simmer diown! I know JD is the good stuff,(20 BUCKS A JUG AROUND HERE!) but it's not Bourbon, So I do like Jim Beam or Rebel Yell both about the same price (about 15 a jug) but the good old "Crow" is less than 7 a jug and it's tasty!!!!!! As for the Bush lite, it's like this, Beer is, well, this old high school bud's dad from Albany Louisiana told Nicki and I about these two dudes who used to live down the road during the "Depression" way back when and they made home brew beer!! Well they got ta' arguing 'tween themselves as to had the best homebrew beer!! So they took some of oneguys' and put it in a bottle and marked it sample "A" and some of the other guys' and marked it sample "B" and sent them to New Orleans (The closest big city in those daze!!) to some lab to get tested!! A week or so later they got the results back and the reply was this,"We are sorry to report to you two gentlemen but both of these horses have diabedes!!!!!".... Got That??
