  1. Yea man, which picture was it??? So far the only ones that I've submitted are Joey swooping with the bird, Don Carrington in a Tux, & 9/11 memorial jumps. At any rate, WOOHOO! There are a bunch of exciting events coming up which should yield good pictures... the Easter 60 ways and FF Jive will be here before we know it. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  2. I hear you Dave... I'm off the other end of the chart, so the maximum WL I can get on my 97 is 1.95psf. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  3. The weekend of March 25-26 Team Wicked Liquid and Carolina Sky Sports will be kicking off the 2006 freefly season with Jive Jam 5. Last year the first four Jive Jam events helped re-kindle the intermediate and advanced freefly scene in NC, SC & VA. This year we are looking foreward to more great events and more challenging jumps. These events are tailored towards people that feel they have hit a point in their freeflying where they just are not continuing to advance and need more challenging dives. Jive Jam will focus specifically on Big Way and VRW freeflying. The Goal is to give freeflyers the opportunity to attempt these more advanced forms of freeflying. You may get cut from the base but certainly not the skydive. Carolina Sky Sports has offered participants $2 off of the normal jump ticket rates, as well as use of their training room and TV's for debriefs. The facilities are top notch! There is free camping, a few open bunks, and a little room in locals' trailers available on a first come first serve basis. So far there are 14 freefliers who are definitely coming, and a few more who are still deciding. Weather permitting we will be trying to do at least 10 jumps over the course of the weekend, starting with smaller VRW groups and working up to bigger ways as we get more comfortable flying together. If you are an intermediate or advanced freeflier and you are interested in attending, please post up and let us know! More information is available at www.FreeFlyJive.com Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  4. BSBD! CSS really isn't the same without you man. We need to get together and have a big bonfire this weekend Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  5. True story: I used to work with this big dude who used to be a semi-pro boxer. Well, he gave up boxing to go to Seminary school and have a family, a really hot wife named Jennifer and two cute little kids. One day at work he rolled up his sleeves and had a couple of pretty cool tattoos, one of which was a big bald eagle carrying a banner that said "Jenn." So a week or two later I got into a conversation with his wife Jennifer about tattoos. I mentioned that I thought it was sweet that her husband had her name tattooed on his arm. At that moment she looked up at me with the angriest look on her face and explained that "Jenn" was his first wife of about 3 months So all you have to do is find another girl named Anna, and hide the tat until the right moment. Smart Armour

^Hmm... Just a thought... If this stuff becomes a solid when you compress it, then how are you going to pack it? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

    Smart Armour

A fellow jumper showed me this a while back. Seems like it would be fantastic for BASE applications. Climbing & jumping in full body armour and bulky knee pads can be a bitch. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  9. Dawn, We got about 5 loads up yesterday. In the morning there was snow from about 5K on down. It was a really beautiful canopy ride The HMA was a BITCH to bartack, but it opens so much softer and feels so smooth on the controls now... great stuff, I just hope it lasts. 10. ^Cold up there in Boston, ain't it Rob? I'm a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill graduating in May. If anyone out there has any job openings for a Communication/Art major, please let me know! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

    Good FreeFly Suit

I'd suggest Freak'n Suits. They're very well made and they come at a bargain price compared to alot of other companies. They offer a bunch of stock designs starting at $180 & also do great custom work. Clicky Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  13. I also have the Tacsew 20U. I got it used for $350 & so far it's performed quite well. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  14. To those who didn't make it out to the DZ this weekend, you missed a BEAUTIFUL friday and a SHITTY Sat-Sun. Don't fret, the days are getting longer and the air is getting warmer. It'll be spring before we know it! Seeya, Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  15. 4-way team Wicked Liquid just put up a new website. Make sure to download flash 8 to get the full effect. http://www.teamwickedliquid.com Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  16. I know that there are alot of different opinions for and against this. As a new jumper I think that doing these things, though not nessisary is a very very very good idea. At the very least, doing this kind of homework shows that a person is serious about BASE and wants to do everything that they can in order to make their career a long and safe one. Personally, I think that these things have helped me the most by making me feel more mentally ready for the jump. Standing at the exit point is no time to doubt your accuracy or packing/rigging skills. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  17. Finally i have a hot swoop pic to post [:b] This was on new years eve at Zhills... much fun! Thanks to Jamie from Chambersburg for the picture! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  18. There are a handful of very nice turbine DZ's within about a 2 hr drive of Concord. Click on the "Dropzones" tab at the top of the screen and you can view the details and follow links to each DZ in the state. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  19. Wow... It's been a while since anyone posted... we've been on page 2 for too long! Just as a PSA, the tunnel rats and Florida Fockers will be at the DZ jumping on friday morning before starting the drive south. The weather looks fantastic for friday, so everybody come on out... the weekend looks a bit hit & miss. Also, check out Joey's fine flash skillz on the new Wicked Liquid website: www.teamwickedliquid.com (Be sure to download a copy of Flash 8 first.) Seeya, Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

  25. Chris, nice italian greyhound man. I love those dogs. Below is my dog, Action Hank!, a 3 year old Italian Greyhound/Boston Terrier/shelter mutt, playing fetch at CSS. Everyone thinks that he's a little 20lb boxer or pitbull puppy Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
