  1. Hahaha, you think it's stuck in your head... imagine editing the damn thing for 5 hours... hearing it over and over Twas worth it though, check out the funky fruits of my white-boy labor... CLICKY! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  2. Of course Hence the "See you tomorrow!" Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  3. Kelly, Frank had a Box-O-Lightnings borrowed from the world team. The standard CRW wingloading is 1.3. I weigh 135 and flying a 126 made me just a little bit floaty. Next time I'm going to try a 113, which should put me at right about 1.3WL. Compared to my usual canopy (safire 139), i found the lightning a little more responsive on the toggles, but still forgiving and easy to fly. Also, they aren't nearly as hard to land as all the non-crew dogs led me to believe. I'd definitely encourage you to get up there and grab some nylon this weekend! Have fun! 4. ^Thanks Joe! I appreciate it... Damn Mac's. Ohh, and I hope that you slowed down a little now that you're not backsliding so much. BTW Karen, Joe, Marion and everyone else who was on the Who-the-hell-sang- "Play that Funky Music White Boy"-Load, it was Wild Cherry. I dubbed the video to it just for you :) See ya tomorrow! 5. hey all, I cut together a little 2 minute video from the weekend. I tried to upload it to skydivingmovies.com so i could post a clicky here, but it doesn't like the Mac version of explorer. If somebody with a PC can upload it for me, i'll email it to you (~5mb). Let me know! [email protected] Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  6. I attended the camp at CSS this past weekend. We all had a blast and learned a WHOLE lot about the finer points of canopy control. Frank and his band of CReW-dog amigos are awesome and have lots and lots of experience to share with jumpers of all experience levels. I'd highly recomend this camp to anybody who's even the least bit interested in CRW. I promise you'll leave with a smile and a lot more confidence about your canopy controll skills. Much thanks to Frank, Steve, Jimbo, & Jackson! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  7. Fridays are very good. Hopefully this whole "Freefly Friday" thing will take off, so far so good. Marion just came back to CSS a few weeks ago and has been jumping her ass off. She's taught me a whole hell of alot about freeflying in the past month. This weekend at CSS was really awesome. The CRW camp with Frank Fowler was very successful and a couple of younger jumpers got their 4 stack awards. Sparky, Scotty, and Don Carrington arranged some big-way jumps, and we ended the weekend with a beautiful 18 way sunset tracking dive led by Peter B. I'm in the process of cutting a quick video from the clips i collected this weekend, hopefully it'll be done by friday, which is when my new Vengence should be here Hope to see you all this friday! 8. I'll be there friday-monday. We're hoping to get all the FF'ers out there on fridays from now on to do some bigger freefly stuff. I haven't seen you in a wihle Joe, since you left a couple of new FF'ers have been frequenting CSS (Marion Graberic-Matthews, & Kevin, John, and Ellis from GE). As of right now (wednesday @ noon) the forecast is good for Fri, and 30-40% chance precip over the weekend. Keep your fingers crossed Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  9. 0/7/1 Had to work friday, 7 jumps saturday (6FF, 1 4way), worked front desk sunday and got on sunset for a smooth FF jump. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  10. We here in NC have been looking foreward to this tunnel opening for a long time. How does it compare to a skyventure tunnel? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  11. I jumped Frankenotter 8 times this weekend, it's one hell of an airplane! It's got a red rudder on it now since the white one is being repaired, so it's back to its old mismatching ways! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  12. I'm a new jumper too, and i've been doing the same thing... learning to freefly between RW jumps. I got alot of really good advice from the experienced freeflyers at my DZ. Basically try to get into a position with a 90 degree bend at your knees, and a 90 degree bend at your hips, and with your arms straight out to the sides, not behind you. Work on getting into a stable sit, holding a heading, getting unstable and then getting back into a sit... then get some coaching and see where they think you can improve. Also, wear a baggy long sleeve shirt and shorts or tight pants, it'll make it quite a bit easier to begin with. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  13. WELCOME! It's nice to see more young skydivers around here! So where are you going to school? UNC has a fantastic skydiving club, and NCSU and Duke are in the process of putting clubs together. If you ever come up to CSS there are some college kids jumping pretty much every weekend. Keep jumping and welcome once again! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  14. Ha! I thought you looked familiar on the plane last weekend! I'm pretty sure I went to high school with you and Alex at Leesville a couple years ago. I'm the one in your video sitting next to Peter G (Lauren's camera guy) on the plane. Anyhow, I'm excited that you're starting a club at NCSU. It'll be great to have more of us poor college students in the air! We can start a commune and have ramen cookouts and everything! I'll be up at CSS this Friday and Sat. morning. I hope to see you there! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  15. Welcome to the forums! I'm a new jumper too and I plan on heading down to Raeford one of these weekends to make a few jumps and meet some new people. If you ever come up to CSS find me and I'd be glad to jump with ya! Blue skies! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  16. Thanks everybody for the warm welcome and the good advice! Weather permitting I'll be getting my A this weekend! Last weekend was absoultely beautiful here at CSS. I hope the weather is as nice at all your DZ's this time of year. I'm looking foreward to meeting some of you at the Easter Boogie at CSS, and at Rayford and Richmond when i get a chance to make it out there. Thanks again! Blue skies! 17. Hello, I'm new to the forums and I thought i'd take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Eric, I'm 21, and I'm a Jr. at the University of North Carolina majoring in media production. I grew up in FL and spent alot of time hanging out at Skydive Deland watching all the fun, and just recently found the time and money to start jumping at Carolina Sky Sports. I absolutely fell in love with jumping and have been at the DZ almost every weekend since my first jump. As of now I have 18 jumps, and hope to get my A license within the next couple weekends :) I recently bought my first rig and I'm in need of a few random pieces of equimpent. If anyone has a decently affordable 170 ZP main lying around I'd be interested, my Safire 169 is about to fall apart (I check the classified's daily, but 170's never seem to show up). I'm also looking for a bellysuit, and maybe some freefly pants. I'm 5'6'' and 130lbs Anyhow, I'm glad to have found the forums and hope to learn alot from you all! Blue Skies! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  18. I didn't have time to read the entire 5 pages of this thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not. Anyhow, Have you thought about getting some good tunnel time in while you're continuing to lose weight and get down to a more jump friendly size. Just a thought... Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
