  1. Attention everyone! The trailer for the boogie DVD is up on skydivingmovies.com CLICK HERE It's not too late to order a copy, and please let me know what you think as well as if you have any music suggestions for the rest of the video. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  2. Wow, what a great boogie! Thanks to everyone who contributed to make the weekend a success! So far sales of the Official Boogie Video have topped $300 Thanks to everyone who ordered a video and contributed footage. I spent 8 hours on a Mac today getting the first half of the tapes and files sorted out and ready to edit. As long as i don't run into any more hurdles I should have a short trailer up tomorrow evening on skydivingmovies.com
  3. Hey folks, There are students at 4 today (enough for probably 2 loads) so come on out and get your after work groove on & warm up for the boogie. I'll be on hand to catch the fun jumps on tape for the *official* boogie video. Seeya! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  4. I'm posting on behalf of Karen (kwoo) and officially inviting all the wonderful folks at Raeford to the big 4th of July Boogie at Carolina Sky Sports this weekend. There will be all sorts of schenannigans for the whole family, check the boogie thread for the details! Thanks! Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  5. Wow... that's expensive. My DZ charges $15 per jump or $60 per day for nice new-ish rigs. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  6. Have someone check the trim on that thing too.. I once had a 1700ft snivel on a Hornet, a new lineset fixed that
  7. I have recorded averages as low as 102 and as high as 137 or so on strong rigs. The slow ones are really a pain, and their videos come out for the most part sideways because I have to fly 90 degrees to them with my arms and legs straight out to slow up (in a FF suit w/o wings.) Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  8. From Marion- Joe, you know I'll be there. See ya tomorrow night, everybody! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come out and support our cello playing freak. Although if BP&RR gets too big, they might not be able to play at our boogies anymore... Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  9. Here are a few of my favorites from my slowly growing collection. These are just the shutterfly preview shots at low quality, but you get the idea. Lots of FF'ing, tandems, & assorted fun Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  10. Alright, here's the skinny folks. There are tandems scheduled all day today (10-12-2-4), and there are a pretty good number at 4pm, probably enough for 2 loads, so plan accordingly. I believe that we're flying an Otter (Taco is the only thing i see parked out on the tarmac.) I already got a call from BBall saying that he was coming, hopefully i'll see you all this afternoon! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  11. Tess & friends, As of the last time i looked at the schedule for wednesday, it was pretty spread out. I'll post up tomorrow morning when I can take a look at the updated version. Floaty and I are taking charge of the Boogie Video. Everyone bring your cameras and get lots of good video on the ground as well as in the air, then hand it off to Mike and I so we can firewire ourself a copy for the video, and don't forget to give us your name & other info for the credits! Seeya soon folks! Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  12. Hey folks! Today is going to be a busy day here at sunny CSS! There are 29 tandems scheduled, and 8 of them are at 4pm, so those of you with real jobs should be able to make a load or two if you show up after work (Yhevgeniy!) Happy Friday everyone! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  13. ^We should edit a skils camp video to this song! FUCK YEA! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  14. Paging Scary Perry... Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  15. ^Actually... there is a tiny bit on the upper and lower left corners of the little video clip on their website. I had my camera zoomed in to the point where the vingnetting was out of frame, but it came back when I brought the screenshots into the computer. Does anybody know of any very wide (.3 and wider) lenses that don't have as much of a vingnetting issue? And BTTT, Have you come up with any clever way to cut this thing away yet? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  16. That's a $300 Century Precision Optics .3 superfisheye. From their website "The .3X Ultra Fisheye Adapter offers an extreme fisheye effect and a high degree of barrel distortion. It exaggerates depth by pulling nearby objects closer and causing distant objects to recede into the background. On the Canon Elura, the .3X Ultra Fisheye Adapter yields a horizontal viewing angle of 130° (180°, measured diagonally)." Unfortunately the lens is so big that it's near impossible to sidemount. It works fairly well on a topmount, but on a PC style camera that makes the whole package awful tall and high drag. The extremely wide angle lends itself well to foot-mounting.... Click for product information. Here are some more frame grabs... Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  17. ^^I'm the guy that jumped the shoe-vue. The BH cutaway system is very simple, just a grommet and through loop on each of the straps. I ran a tandem ripcord down through the hipring on my rig, through a grommet on my jumpsuit, and out the ankle closure to the shoe-vue. That way the PVC handle rests in your hipring and you don't have to reach to your foot to cutaway. Just make SURE that you have enough excess cutaway cable so that when you bend your knee and straighten your leg you don't accidentally pull out all the slack and chop it accidentally. Your results may vary... good luck. (BTW, foot mount video rocks!) Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  18. ^Were you able to convince the powers that be that the jello shots are a good idea, or is it more of a rogue fundraising operation? I'm hoping that we can make the 4th of july shindig a little more successful than the memorial day "boogie," as well as helping the CSS ladies make it to JFTC. For once the weather for the week has been crap and the weekend actually looks nice . I hope everybody can make it out! CLICKY!
  19. ^In the corner is no place to put your canopy if you want it to behave! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  20. ^HAAH! Classic. I wish somebody had gotten a picture of that. Today went very well here at the DZ. I even got to do a violently funneling hybrid for my 500th jump! It's set to be a great weekend, so everybody come out and enjoy the boogie! Seeya! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  21. I have been sent to inform you all that tomorrow (FF Friday) JOEY COSTA and JOHN GRIMES will be jumping. There are students at 10-12-2-&4 so there oughtta be enough loads to keep us busy AND enough for me to make my 500th jump tomorrow at around sunset Spread the word! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  22. Nice Mike Now we've gotta plan some nifty formations & get a picture published. **EXCITING NEWS** Marion's Ouragan suit will be here tomorrow! YAY! Also tomorrow, someone is bringing their whole family out for tandems at noon (someone's 90th birthday.) So there oughtta be a load or two going up. (Mike, they have at least 4 DVD's) CLICKY! There are last weekends pictures including the likes of Elis, Mike, LJ, Nick, Karen W, Ashley A, Eric H, Morgan, & Kirk. Enjoy! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  23. CLICKY! < There are the pictures from this past weekend. There are still a few on my camera that I haven't had time to download. Dave, it was nice jumping with you. Have fun in FL & have a great summer
  24. Hey everybody and happy wednesday! There were a whopping 9 CASA and Otter loads today and 25+ tandems. Tomorrow will also be pretty busy, and there are about 15 students on the books for friday afternoon, so if you want to get on some light loads come on out! I'll post the pictures from joe's party on shutterfly soon! Seeya Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
