    Need job help

First things first: right to work has nothing to do with your situation-It's simply a sham to screw unions, nothing more, nothing less. If you are affected by a state law, it's not this one. Question-When you took the position at the "old" hospital, was it understood that in the Winter you would be idle or cut back on hours? If not, they may have breached the contract depending on your terms. Other than that, you should stay where you are to avoid the paybacks you would owe. You should put back some $$$ now for this winter and when your contract is up, leave or renegotiate. If you renegotiate, take care of the Winter time situation and possible lay off-have guaranteed works hours or a guaranteed minimum weekly salary. Even better, come back to dz.com during the negotiations and we'll hook you up. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  5. It's a toss up...I want them all three to get it for different reasons. Most competitive and creative: Rob and Amber Most deserving: Ron and Kelly-Just Ron really, after all he was a f'in POW. Most hungry for it: Uchena and Joyce-they want the $$ for invitro fertizilization. BTW-Ron and Kelly are no longer together as a couple. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  6. For those that live in Oklahoma, you cannot forget the BC Clark Jewelry Christmas commercial...they get people in the malls to sing their jingle. I've had the damn thing memorized for over twenty years now. Most sales are after Christmas, but ours is just before. Most everything is marked way down, savings you can't ignore. At Oklahoma's finest jeweler, since 1892. So give the gifts you know can save from BC Clarks, anniversary sale. arghhhh. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  7. That spacecraft really is pretty slow when compared to mine. After all, I made the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  9. Parties that are interested in these scams include the FBI and the US Postal Inspection Service (mail fraud). Look up their #'s and dial the digits. They helped a friend of mine. The cashier's checks themselves are real....but the account numbers are fake. That's why it takes so long to "bounce" because the bank personnel are busy looking through old records to find the bank account #. They aren't really interested in your gear...they want that $$$$. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  11. My sister died when she was sixteen years old....it will be five years ago next month. To this day, her friends stop by my parents to visit. Even some of their parents stop my parents to visit. My parents appreciate every single visit and realize that it's not only to help them cope with what happened, but it's also to help her friends cope with what happened. Go ahead and visit. The only recommendation I would make is to maybe call and arrange the visit rather than just a pop-in. Call and say, "Hey. I just found out about....would you mind if I came by for a few minutes?" david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  12. Write me into the storyline. Hmmm, I think I'll be the mailman. Female customer: Hey mailman, what are you doing? Mailman: Just putting my male into your box ma'am! -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  13. This is sort of a skydiving related question, so I'll put it here. Can someone please be kind enough to look at the last Rantoul DVD at the music credits and post them on here. I got a used DVD and none of the credits will roll. The DVD restarts and loops over again. Thanks in advance. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  14. Their website is advertising the boogie but with no specifics about registration fees, requirements, etc. Their website doesn't seem to have half of the stuff it used to have. Call (918) 225-2222 for details and post them if you would. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  15. From the Tulsa area the closest DZ with a turbine is Dallas, which is actually in Whitewright, TX. It's about 4.5-5 hours from Tulsa. Just hop on the turnpike and head south to TX. Smooth ride at 75 mph. In the Tulsa area is Skydive Airtight, which boasts 2 C-182's. They get 12K in about 22-25 minutes, four per load. The dz in Siloam Springs, Arkansas used to fly a King Air, but not sure about its status. It's east of Tulsa about 2 hours or so. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  16. They don't show everything on the shows. Usually, they strike a deal with some local non-profit agency to help with the bills for an established period of time...usually one year. After that they're on their own, but it's gives them a break-in period to know what they will be looking at. As for the truck...it's paid for so full coverage isn't required and not every state requries liability coverage so they may not have to carry insurance on the vehicle. david -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  17. I'm not advocating filing any lawsuits, but something to think about is do you qualify for protection under the Family Medical Leave Act? Certain business don't fall under the FMLA and the employee must have worked at their business for one calendar year and must have worked 1250 hours within the last calendar year. If you qualify, a complaint to the Department of Labor may be in order. You boss can't even have a discussion about your missing work for doctor's appointments if you qualify for protection or you can sue him/her individually along with the business. Again, I'm not advocating a lawsuit, just stating fact. dgm -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  19. I've had a couple of openings on my Sabre 170 that woke me up. Nothing to cause damage or anything. I had one a few weeks ago that I think line dumped. Just as the bag came out, I was going into saddle position and then BAM. Not sure if it was momentum from my feet going underneath me or what but I ended up with my feet above my face after opening. Thinking about going with larger bands and doubling them to see what that does. My bands fit pretty loose around my spectre lines. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  21. Never on the Mac 'n chz...I must be spoiled cause I've never ate Ramen either. Other than offer to pack student gear when I couldn't even pack my own? Nope. I drove a piece of crap for ten years and I'll never turn back to the darkside. I can't smell him from here. Of course, I don't know him, so even if did smell I wouldn't know it. ***Yes. You may win a prize for the correct answers. Answer honestly. *** Just give them to Ed McMahon...he's due by anytime. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  22. My buddy got involved w/ one of these scams. He received a cashiers check drawn on a Miami bank for $5000. The buyer was from Nigeria, but he wanted the goods shipped to the UK. The goods were for sale for $1200 and he OVERPAID. That's the catch-they ask for their money back via wire transfer or Western Union. His check took over two weeks to come back as phony. I talked my friend into waiting to send the $$. Good thing for him. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  23. Off subject, but talking about these pets getting loose reminded me of something I read this week. I get a newsletter from a wild cat sanctuary in northern Arkansas. They recently "rescued" a lion from a guy because it became too aggressive for him to keep in his home. The guy took the lion out into the national forest in Arkansas and RELEASED it. How would you like to find that thing while deer hunting (it was deer season when it happened). Anyway, the lion walked home to the guys house....over sixty miles away. He called the sanctuary the next day. Just a story. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  24. I was travelling through Texas awhile back going to a boogie and it was laaaate...about 4 AM when I arrived. Got pulled over three times by local "constables" (sheriff to non-Texans) because of a light out. Last one gave me directions to a Wal Mart (N-E-S-W and in minutes of course). Got to Wamalart and bought my light, went out to the truck and installed it. Saw a receipt there lying on the ground that I thought was mine so I picked it up. It wasn't mine, but only in the south can you buy the stuff on this receipt without getting the cops called It had two shotguns, ammo out the wazzoo, and six CASES of beer. I really do love TX (I live in OK). The longhorns (OU's JV team) just gave Bob Stoops' bytch a contract extension last year. That's at least one guaranteed win for every year through I think 2012. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  25. I played different saxophones through junior high and high school. Junior high was in a large school district so it was plenty fun...size of the marching band was about 120. We did a couple of NCAA football halftimes and a lot of parades. I moved to a small school district for high school that had less than 90 people in my entire CLASS. Band had about 35 people. I still enjoyed it, but it was on the bottom of the budget list at the school board meetings. My tenor sax and bari sax were both over 25 years old and in need of heavy repair. Most repairs I did myself or paid someone out of my own pocket. I owned an alto sax, but I hated playing it. I played with way too much energy for a small instrument. I had to quit after junior year because of graduation issues. I had good grades, but you only got credit for music for two of four years and athletics for two of four years. If I would have stayed w/ both, I wouldn't have had enough credits for graduation. Something had to go and the athletic budget was quite larger. I still pick up the alto occasionally. It's been 13 years. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
