  1. Why do cowgirls walk Bow-legged? Cowboys eat with their hats on. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  2. While technically correct, this is statistically incorrect. Sanders scored 44 touchdowns in 1988. Bowl games did not count in the NCAA's statistical records until 2002. And when bowl games were included, they were not made retroactive. Thus Sanders' 222 yards rushing and five touchdowns against Wyoming in the Holiday Bowl do not count in his NCAA records of 2,628 yards rushing and 39 TDs. His actual totals for 1988 were 2,850 yards and 44 touchdowns. Ball really needs to score 7 TD's, but who's counting... -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  3. I'm not usually big on cover songs, but listening to PC makes me think of this cover by Nonpoint: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihYwcaxEEUk And this is hands down one of my favorite video's of all time: Pearl Jam - Jeremy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS91knuzoOA&ob=av2e And for comedic purposes a little Foo Fighters and their anti-Westboro Baptist Church message: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e5hRLbCaCs -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  4. Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Morgan#Personal_life_and_death Thanks for the cite. I didn't even remember him being in the Apple Dumpling Gang. That was a classic movie...makes me want to watch some old Don Knotts movies now. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  5. I think he also appeared in the original "How The West Was Won." Great actor. Only dark mark on his career was he went to jail several years ago for beating his wife...I think he was in his late 70's or his 80's when that happened. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  6. I don't plan to use it for complaints but I do plan to use it to get info out to my membership and others that may be effected by the changes in our industry. I'm learning that this may be an untapped resource for news/info sharing. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  7. So, for example...if I'm upset with UPS for misdelivering a package, I could tweet: "Way to go #UPS for dropping my stuff off at a house 5 miles away." Now that's just an example, but the point is that not only will my current 10 followers see the "tweet" but also anybody who searches the term "UPS" on twitter, right? -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  8. Can someone explain Twitter to me a little bit? Especially hashtags...how do they work? I need to start using Twitter for work and I'm not looking forward to it. I searched through the archives on here and I dont' really find what I'm looking for. I have a Twitter account that I created mainly to follow a couple of bands and news sites. However, I've developed 10 followers somehow and my PR guys are telling me that I'm missing a big opportunity if I'm not using Twitter for work. Any insight is appreciated. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  9. Look at this scenario: LSU loses to Arkansas, new poll ends up #1 Alabama, #2 Arkansas #3 LSU. Tie breaker goes to Alabama because top ranked BCS team goes to SEC Championship unless #2 ranked SEC team is within 5 rankings of #1 team, then those two teams head to head is tie-breaker, which is Alabama. Alabama plays Georgia in the SEC Championship game and by some grace of God Georgia wins that game. National Championship game is either going to be Arkansas v. LSU or Arkansas v. Va. Tech. Thoughts? -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

    Laptop Repair

That's only for the part though. If you have to have it installed, that's the part that's makes it not worthwhile. If you can install it or know somebody that can, it's worth it. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  12. I've seen a lot of shows this year: Ozzy Osbourne, Slash w/Alter Bridge, Eli Young Band, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Jayme Johnson, Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, Motorhead, El Mariachi, Rise Against, 3OH3!, A Day To Remember, Disturbed, Godsmack, Machine Head, Trivium, Alice in Chains, Kid Rock, Randy Rogers Band and Randy Rogers with Wade Bowen for an acoustic show. I think I'm missing something there... I actually saw Foo Fighters with Biffy Clyro and Motorhead in Tulsa, Little Rock and Memphis with my girlfriend and then I saw Foo Fighters with El Mariachi and Rise Against in Kansas City and St. Louis with my daughter. Between now and the end of the year I may go see Easton Corbin, Staind, Aranda and Violence to Vegas. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  14. Man...where to start. After reading all of your stories it reminds of some that I had let go from my ex. When she was pregnant, she tried to beat the hell out of me while I was driving over a minor disagreement. I had to pull over and pull her out of the vehicle. What the hell was I going to do, hit her back? She tried to stab me...more than once. Found out in '05 she was cheating. I was the guy's union rep and had saved his job after he got fired after getting caught getting a BJ while on the job. Oh...the BJ wasn't from his wife, but from his girlfriend. It took me 4 months of suspicion to finally get my evidence. I GPS'd her car and tapped her cell phone with a quirky little spy gadget I found online. Recorded her phone calls and voicemails. All the evidence I needed. If only Oklahoma were an "at-fault" state. In '06, during the divorce, she tried to run over me by driving me down in my own front yard. Left tire marks all throughout my yard. I called police and took endless pics. Police refused to file charges because I wasn't injured, even though she fled the scene. Then she sued me in court for damages to her vehicle...and won. I had to pay $1400 for damages to her car over her recklessness. Judge didn't believe that the sweet little innocent plaintiff could have done something as cruel as try to run me over. It was the same judge that presided over our divorce. He wasn't nice to me during those proceedings either. After it's all said and done with I discovered she had cheated on me four times over a 10 year marriage. I knew about all of them I guess but refused to see it. It went all the way back to our second year of marriage. Two of the guys she cheated with...their wives had called me during their divorces to tell me that my wife was cheating on me. I refused to believe it. Now I'm a little jaded. It's taken me a little time to build trust back up in a woman. I know women aren't bad by nature and I just chose a bad one. The only consolations from it all: I've got two great kids; I got EVERYTHING in the divorce; she tried to stab her new husband too (the last one she cheated on me with). -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  15. Money is what leads me to believe SMU will be in the picture. Tulane brings their Association of American Universities membership because if Missouri leaves the Big 12 we'll be down to three AAU schools. Plus, Tulane expands the conference into Lousiana and brings an entire new recruiting base. I don't know that BYU will want to give up their independent football status. It will also be a lot of travel for current conference teams. That being said, I'd rather it be BYU than Houston. All conference schools are already recruiting in the area and already have a sizeable share of the market down there. BYU will bring new territory for both. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  16. I realize I'm starting in on this threat a little late... As an avid (or rabid) OU fan, I don't think we're THAT good yet although the team is really starting to sync up. Texas is terribly overrated this year. Their 4 wins are against teams that most people yawn at when watching their games. They even struggled against BYU. They've played 20+ freshmen this season already and can't seem to focus on the fact that they're using a rotating quarterback system - a system that generally fails. They've also got 6 new assistant coaches with 2 of them being coordinators. Their offensive coordinator (Bryan Harsin) is the same guy that pulled it over on Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago with all of the trick plays. He only got away with one this week against OU and I solidly believe Bob Stopps was out to rub it in his face...hence why our starters were still in the game in the 4th quarter. OU isn't a #1 team yet...we still have work to do but I believe as long as we handle that team that has seceded to the SEC and OSU on Dec 3 we'll be there. The polls just came out and we are still #3 in the AP and #1 in the Coaches Poll. A&M going to SEC...See ya. Their feelings got hurt over over the whole longhorn tv channel and they wouldn't even take calls from Univ President W. Powers when they began talking about bailing out of the Big 12. I'm not a fan over the fact that TU has their own tv channel. I think that's a direct result of Texas throwing their money around when Nebraska and Colorado both bailed and threatening the stability of what remained of the conference. And now TCU comes to the Big 12? I see invitations going out to BYU and God forbid possibly SMU and Tulane. Thoughts everybody? -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  17. If we only lived a little closer. I'm ok with long distance relationships, but I think 4,850 miles (7,805 km) is a bit much. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  18. My immediate fascination with the sport is partly what led to my then wife (who did one tandem) becoming my ex-wife. She didn't want me in the sport like I was...not because of a fear of getting hurt but because I spent the entire day at the dz. Took some time off from the sport because of the divorce and got back in this year. Still looking for that girl that doesn't mind me going to the dz all day. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  19. I jump with a pair of Oakley Jawbone's. I'm biased with Oakley and have been for years but the Jawbone's can fit nicely in a full face helmet, an open face helmet or just attached to my head with that little strap thing on the back. While they're not sealed, but do occasionally fog up because they have a tight fit. I just wait til the door is about to open before I put them fully in place. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

  23. I was "picky" after my divorce and learned after awhile that I needed to loosen it up a bit. Then I started dating anybody and everybody and while some may consider that a mistake, I consider it test driving 20 different cars trying to find what I like about each car and what I didn't like. As a result, I developed my own rules of dating...rules that fit that ideal woman/situation. Some rules scan be broken if the person is worth breaking the rule. This allowed me to open my mind and not be so picky, yet able to filter out the BS drama that fills some peoples lives. I learned that we all have drama in our lives to some degree. You get pretty good at judging a book by its' cover, although I did misjudge a few people. I also changed my philosophy of needing to be in a relationship to wanting to be in a relationship. I didn't go chasing every cute thing that passed in front of me...I wait until something awesome just presents itself. Call it fate if you want. Best relationship I had was a chance meeting...and she broke 4 of my 5 rules. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  24. Best date: I was in Dallas (I live in OKC) for a weekend for the opening game of OU's football season in 2009 when they played BYU at JerryWorld. On the night before the game I was with a lot of friends in a place called the Metropolitan Area Tavern. Somebody took my seat when I went to the restroom (even though I had a plate of food sitting there) so I moved to another table that had a girl sitting there that I had previously dated once or twice so I sat next to her (I had parked had her house; she drove us there). When the group decided to move on to the next spot, another girl at the table that hadn't said hardly a thing all night said she was going home. I asked if she had a man or kids at her place because I was Friday, only 10 PM and we're in Dallas-the night was young. Tried to talk her into joining us at the next location and she politely declined saying she had to get up early on Saturday. Through all of that, my ride left me there. Then the new girl said "I guess I am joining you guys because now I'm your ride." We drove to the next spot, sat next to each other for awhile there, decided to leave and go do our own thing and went to some bar and drank some wine. She drove me back to my hotel and we stayed in her truck until like 4am talking. Never met anyone that I had that much in common with. We dated for about 6 months after that. Best relationship I ever had. Worst date: #1-blind date...friend showed me her picture, I said sure. I called her, we agreed to get together at a local pub to watch some football (she was a big fan) and to have drinks and get to know one another. She showed up. My friend totally hosed me...the pic he showed me wasn't her...at all. I was so put off by that I couldn't focus on having a good time and had no interaction whatsoever. I finally left at halftime, never to talk with her again. Worst date: #1-Finally scored a date with this hot hot hot girl I had a crush on for awhile. We went to dinner, had a great time eating sushi and some other japanese food. Went to pay...I left my wallet somewhere earlier in the day. I had to have her pay for the meal, sushi and drinks. Close to like 90 or 100 bucks. Doh! -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
  25. First and foremost, the MSNBC story doesn't tell all of the facts. When he returned to the area of the store where the downed robber was laying, he testified that the robber was moving and he believed that he was still armed. In reality, this robber was not armed, only the one that fled was armed. However, the pharmacist did not know that at the time. The pharmacist told investigators that he believed, at the time of the shooting, that his only choice to save his own life and the lives of his co-workers was to shoot him again because he was moving and he believed he was armed. Ersland hired the most high-profile lawyer in the state of Oklahoma for criminal defense, Irven Box. Mr. Box has represented many high-profile murder defendants in his time. The prosecution presented evidence from a doctor that stated that the 16 year old downed robber could not have been moving as Ersland claimed because of the type of head injury he sustained from shot #1. That's what made the difference between a not guilty verdict and the guilty verdict he received. In the surveillance video, you see Ersland shoot the gun again, but you don't see the downed robber lying on the floor. He is out of sight. I'm not offering opinion on the outcome, just relaying the facts. I live in OK and have used that pharmacy before so I kind of kept an eye on this case. Just something to keep in mind: that morning when Ersland woke up, he didn't plan on shooting anybody. That 16 year old planned to take part in an armed robbery. On a side note, the two adult masterminds of the robbery also got life in prison today. I'm not sure what the outcome was of the other teenage robber. -------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail
