  1. I have dissabled my 3 rings by removing the cable and replacing it with doubled cordage on each riser, it could be undone while loaded but only intentionaly and not quickly. did this because i was doing Mr. bills, as the first to open, and did not want the other guy to brush my cutaway handle, as he was climbing all over my harness changing positions. (out of a balloon) but my rig on order has sewn in risers, solves that. -SPACE-

  3. Rope, Base, And Bungee. Im in. see you all friday.
  4. The supercub i am flying is modified for Aerotowing. it has a 180HP engine and a climb pitch propeller. trust me, it gets there. I am a Commercial pilot and i have had this particular supercub to 24,000'msl (kind of legaly) alone, on oxygen, with the Aid of the Lenticular Wave. (the powerplant for those of us who cant afford our own turbine ship, but still want to go deepsky) I have TOWED a small Sailplane with this airplane to 16,000' I have already jumped from it without a wingsuit from 18,000msl. Our Oxygen tanks (for the pilot and I) are large carbon fiber Sailplane tanks. pressure demand, if i am not mistaken. I also have used, but will not use for this, a small 8"O2 cylinder that i connnect to my helmet, for use after i exit. sorry i didnt specify.
  5. The goal is docking... and i'm not going to be flying with the ship i exited. and it does not have a propeler, so thats no problem. I'm jumping from a 2place PA-18, from 22,000MSL. The ship i will be flying relative with can descend in a straigh line at .7/1-2/1 glide ratio at an indicated 90-140mph. (2000-10,000fpm) this is without a drag chute, i figure it is almost perfect. I flew it myself 2 days ago with a handheld GPS, i think it will work. The Ship will form on me, I will fly at best glide in a straight line. Now i have to figure out how to get at least 1/1 out of my GTI.
  6. sooo... any info on how/if its been done? we are trying it next week, just need some pointers, maybe some Do nots? our set up is pretty good.
  7. " Your standing on your Bridal. IDIOT. " - Slim . That visual is just way to funny. i'm in class and i almost got kicked out cause i'm laughing. i hate college.
  8. "never follow" -audi moto. "bail out rigs are like condoms, you only need one when you are messing around" -aerobatic pilots "I want my mom" -anonymous, at Exit of our first big wall N.P. jump. -SPACE-
  9. The word "re-entry" is misleading it should be "burn up cause of crazy fast speed" or something. Spacecraft need to "re-enter" not because they are outside of the atmosphere, but because they are going fast enough (cause they need to orbit) to be burned by the friction drag of the atmosphere, while a person from 300,000' could probably get going fast enough to generate a fair amount of heat, but it would not be the same as a "re-entry" re-entry speeds hover around 27,000mph. at 9.8m/s*2. from 300,000... i dono, no calculator, but figure no measurable atmosphere until, say 150,000'.... i did have a cool dream about this, slider up i think. -SPACE-
  10. I know we are all jokeing, but the physics of this type of structure would not permit a person to "fall" from it. well... at least not back to earth. orbital (cetrifugal) force is the basis of the structurers' integrity, and would fling a detatched object into space. not to mention the blood boiling 0 pressure. but thats what pressure suits are for. oh, and the no drag/control thing but a jumper could go from below the"CP" Balance point, as depicted in the diagram, because the orbital forces would still be less than the force of gravity at that altitude. sick ass wingsuit flight though. -SPACE-

    regrets?

not yet, and i doubt i will. but i see your point in asking... i wrote this the other day, on my way to do another bandit load and slider up A. ...I Jump because i never forget to tell my mother i love her when im home from school anymore. I BASE because it reminds me i wont be alive for long. My tailgate is brand new, sitting on a cluttered shelf with other parachute gear, used a precious few times because for some reason i just cant stop climbing at 400 feet. We cant lie to ourselves, we are dropping like flies. but its getting safer everyday. I dont want to die young, but im not terribly savvy on the idea of old and in my sleep. I like the idea of going to class and everybody complaining about how early it is, and knowing i have been up for 5 hours. I will never fail, or Falter, I will never relent, i will never follow. . -SPACE-
  12. brag---- 55 jumps 19 objects 4 firsties, 2 will never be jumped again because i built them 1 bridge 5 towers 2 buildings 8 cliffs. 3 random -SPACE-
  13. the more people who are there, the better. with 1200 protestors and 150 jumpers, it comes to a point where a mass media event shows nps putting people into trucks with handcuffs for having harmless fun. could you get 1200 people to show up? doubtful. what should happen is put 20 jumpers on every exit point in the park. -SPACE-
  14. as conservative as the NPS is, i would assume a protest jump would not only have a "air delivery" charge but a conspiracy/something attachment. -SPACE-
  15. keep in mind, there is a lot of rope out there that is not even used by climbers/rescuers that is perfect for this, some stuff i would recommend is not even kernmantle, there is no rules here, we are trying to make progress right?
  16. "please explain" -saw a base jump on tv 1999 -made 1st skydive 2002 -talked to the tired, unrested fellas in the dark corner of my DZ, fresh off a tower -made 200 skydives -crewed for a month -got dragged up a tower with my own packjob a year later. -will never stop.
  17. i did not take a course. hopefully someday i can give the new guy what was given to me. or take from the new guy what was taken from me. (sleepless nights crewing, sitting in the getaway car, etc...)
  18. "still say...stay inspired and stay safe." and we will. the Vampire Bows...
  19. "Yes, you got me there, but it would be on "our" own terms . . . I mean if you didn’t agree with something at least you'd be arguing with a BASE jumper." good point. for the price of a A wind tunnel? isnt that quite a bit of cash? from what research i hav put einto my own tower, a 700meter tower would cost around 2 million. plus the land its on. and whatever else for permits for altitude restricstions. i thought a wind tunnel was upwards of 15 million.
  20. Well said. cheers. I too will build towers for all the jumpers in the world. the US doesnt allow over 2300' or so feet so we should go somewhere else. I say a 1500meter beauty somewhere desolate, where it wont annoy the locals. Its a funny thing, getting good at jumping off of things. strange thing for a human to excel at. be well....
  21. that 9am mountain, May 29th
  22. Flying a crew into Twin Falls wheels down at 9am tommorow, which airport should i use? and could anybody there possibly pick us up? im thinking Jerome Co, or magic Valley. eithor or. we are 6 strong. pm me please!
  23. wow. and just like that... lets do that again. thanks brokenman, we will let you finish your burrito next time, its not a bad view anyway
