  1. Try that in a C206 with 6 jumpers. Impossible! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  2. Fly your own body. Do not rely on the pax for stability or directional control. I only hook the legs in case the pax lets his/her legs blowing around, continiously slamming my legs. Not dangerous when a pax does this, but not very comfortable for me. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  3. Ok, well sometimes it just happens. I saw a couple of times a TM continiously steering/spinning the tandemcanopy and wodering why he has such an high pukerate. One ride on the front confinced him. For the rest Have fun, stay safe Ton ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  4. Quote I then proceed to do two spirals....maybe a 540 right and a 360 left, nothing too major, especially for a guy on an 'extreme' team asking for a wild ride Quote Have you ever tried this in the passenger seat? Might be supprising how much less comfortable this is. Do not fly the tandemcanopy like you fly you own small stiletto, velocity or whatever. In case my passenger wants spiral turn I let them help steering the canopy. Than they know which side they go. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  6. Just a note: For france you need a french rating. You can not come to france and jump tandem with a US tandemrating. The same as I can not come to the US and jump tandems with my dutch/german tandemrating without some kind of allowance from the national organisation. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  8. PPFF.... automatic is for granddad. Hybid is for a granddad who thinks he is still in his 20's Automatic: + Easy in traffic jam + Need one braincell less to operate + Kickdown in sportmode gives faster accelaration than manual - Uses more fuel - Hard to rent here in europe - Low resell value and a lot af the second hand automatic cars have been demolished by granddads driving behaviour. Manual: - A little more workload - Need more practice + Uses less fuel + Ability to accelerate very fuel economic + Manual is THE standard here in europe Here in holland people do their driving test with manual cars because passing in a standard car allows you to drive both. Passing in an automatic car only allows you to drive automatic cars (noted on driving licence) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  9. Yes, I'm from holland and I've lived in Leiden for 10 years as a kid. Lot of student activities, due to the university. Like all dutch cities with a long history. Parking your car is a nightmare even if you drive a small european sized car Closed DZ is skydive rotterdam. Most important day is 3-oct. Party in the city because of a military victory against spain some 100's of years ago (Spain troops surrounded the city but could not take it due to the middle age walls) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  10. It's not that bad, there arive new students each day ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  11. A SET400 is a licence built BT80 (Notice the triple end-cels) If the SET is like the BT80 100% ZePo it can last very long. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  12. Introductory jump? Someone lives 20 years ago! 995euro because the manufacturing takes place in east-europe (low labour cost) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  14. Believe me as soon as someone stapped to your belly is startin to "freak-out" you will notice. I mean FREAK-OUT, not PASS-OUT. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  15. I'm a boy (At least my wife says so) and I do not like funerals! Appart from that I do not think it is required to show these pics to students. It's the JM who has to cut the line before the SL-student realises he is being towed behind the airplane. And it's the JM who is responsible to do a gearcheck I can see a purpose for these pics in case you have a very serious talk about behaviour near and just out of the door with a 50-150jumps 'I-know-it-all' jump wonder. But even than after some serious warnings. For instructors in training these photos serve a purpose. Kind regards Ton Dutch/German SL-Instructor and TM ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  16. Agree with you. Lets reopen this thread in say 5 or 10 years from now. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  17. Very simple. The barigo is a german brand of altimeter. In germany they jump in meters (like in france). A barigo with a meter scale will show no space between the 0 and 4000meter. To sell this altimeter to the feet-jumping community the most simple modification is remove the meter-scale and add a feet-scale, without modification of the inside. (If you want to swap from meter to feet simply buy a $5 feet-scale) As 4000 meters is a little more than 13000ft you will see a gap between 12000 and the 0. As a barigo owner I can assure you the altimeter works at least to 17000ft. Probably higher but I never jumped higher than 17000ft. Have the same barigo for at least 10years. Still functions good. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  18. You can also learn dutch. Similar to afrikaans I added the dutch translation to your list ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  19. Last year I had a student (pax) who had problems to breath. Since then I tell every student "Do not forget to breath after the exit" If you think you really can not breath start shouting. Worked for me since then. Had several students who told me after the jump "thanks for telling do not forget to breath" Just my 2 eurocents ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  20. Yep, it's already said. Whatever rating or jump number you have. The TM is responsible for the safety of the passenger and he can always refuse to allow jumpers or videomen to jump with him. It's you who has to aniticipate to the high/low falrate and or backslipping tandem. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  21. But a sceduled check-up each 4-years is still not required! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  22. That's not exactly true. You may or may not have to FILE, you may or may not have to PAY, too. I have filed every year since I started working as a kid, but I have only actually had to pay taxes one year since I was 18, and that's because I had taken a year off of school to work for Microsoft and made about 25 times what I did most other years. If you make very very little money, you can make so little that you don't have to pay taxes. If you tell them you make money you have to pay, If you do not tell anything......... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  23. Nah thats not true. its really a small furry animal that lives on the side of a hill and therefore has one leg longer than the other. When they catch them they get specially trained dogs that chase them the WRONG way round the hill so they overbalance and topple down to the bottom where they are trapped by men with nets, who then skin them and boil them. True Honest http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&q=haggis&meta= I think you are right, Really ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  24. Haggis is tradition food. Roughly made out of organ meat spiced and stuffed in a sheep stomach before cooking. You really eat it?? This is the food they warn you for here in the netherlands when you are planning to visit schotland You know the difference between beer-lovers from ireland and england. The beer-lover from ireland starts to sing when drunk. The beer-barrel from england starts to fight If you really want to experience beer-culture: Visit Munich in germany. Beer and Bratwurst (or Schnitzel) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  25. Opens hard when new and no 2 of them fly the same IMO (200+ Tandems using BT-80) Tim T. About 2-3 years ago the BT-80 design has been changed a little. No need for rolling the nose or a special slider any more. These new design BT80 opens very nice and I do not have the idea they all fly different. There is a small difference between the old design and teh new design. The new design flies a little less sharp and is more difficult to stall ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
