  1. I saw someone break his wrist holding bungee pilot out of a car driving 80km/h. So do not try this at home or on a rainy day! For the original thread: If I have something over my head (including only a pilot) I will breakaway and pull the reserve on my sport-rig ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  2. Correct, becomes even more important when you are not that big yourself. Dress-for-success and go for a clean exit. Had some passengers too that de-arched and forgot everything on exit. With the wind blowing on your belly on exit, so what? I do not know what you know, but most important is to use common sense and use the laws of physics, do not fight them Going back to the first post of this thread. This sometimes happens also if you do not tell the passenger about the landing before the jump. Just deal with it. Fly the exit yourself, do not let the pax fly the exit. Might rock a little onder the droque, nothing serious. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  3. Yes, refused to take a 120KG tandempassenger. The DZ's in holland generally have 90-95kg as limit. Personnaly I have a limit of about 100-105kg for the passenger (I'm 70kg, so no canopy overload) I also restricted myself to max length 1,95/2,00m (I will not qualify for the "tall person of the month" award with my 1,78m length) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  4. And haw was your forced reserve opening? Ok I assume so the RSL did it's work ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  5. Sound a bit like you are proud of these pictures! I think you should shame yourself for throwing a droque in this position! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  6. You sold it yourself too!!! Now it is wrong for another person to sell it? If you really think this is a bad canopy why did you sell it? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  7. Well put, my brother. I have a lot of respect for GOOD cameramen. Andy West, Dave Martin, Dave Hoyt, Mike Bess, Rob Lowe, The Fuller brothers, Rich and Glen...and many more. But ANYBODY with a thousand bucks can be a camera guy. It really irritates that vein in the back of my neck when a video guy tells me to pick up or slow down the fall rate, or face into the sun, or give a better nod and count. It's the cameraman's job to get the shot. The tandem instructor has his hands full as it is. Skill and experience being equal. A tandem instructor is worth more money than a cameraman. If for the responsability alone. Agree as a TM my major priority is to bring the pax back on the ground safely, but if I can help the videoman a little no problem. First droque and passenger arms. Then I turn my face to the videoman. Together we turn into the sun. and I have plenty of time to do the handlecheck etc. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  8. During a boogie? That's the beer bubbling to your head! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  9. You know it really hurt to be 33. The worst is you get banned from polls. WHY IS THERE NO 30-35? You ruined my day. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  10. tube stows on locking looks. Normal small rubbers on the rest gives me the best openings. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  11. mmmmm, must have missed the swooppont ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  12. BUY a car??? Just remove the person behind the wheel and drive away ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  13. I'm batting 2 for 2 on my R-Max also. flew great both times. -Blind No, never jumped my PD113. Saw a few PD113 landings and landed a Techno155 once and a PD360(tandemreserve) a couple of times without problems. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  14. You want to base-jump a 24ft JUNKY round? Have fun! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  15. I assume you have a special TM rating. Only valid at the DZ that payed for it??
  16. Well if you are stil under a malfunction at 750ft (decending over 35m/sec). You already screwed up yourself. Your AAD gives you a last change. If you breakaway at this point you are rather sure you are going to die! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  17. A growing list of DZ's require an AAD for everyone because AAD's (Cypres/Vigil) simply safe lifes, so less trouble for the DZ owner and staff. By the way: National organisations follow this trend too. France and Belgium for example (maybe more) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  18. TI -> 30euro incuding packing Video -> 35euro. Videoman jumps with privat rig and equipment. That's why. Some days the videoguys make more jumps(per person), other days the TI. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  19. LET YOUR RIGGER DO THIS FOR YOU!!! It seems to be simple, but determination of the corrct lingth might not be that easy. You want both sides to release at the same time don't you? If you are a rigger, why do you ask this question ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  20. which, (unless your plane climbs very slowly half empty) has a lot slower turn around time then putting tandems out last. Slow turns equals less profit and less total jumps by everyone.. No (or less) tandems means even less profit, which means no money to pay the DZ bills -> Unpayed bills means no jumping any more or a much higher ticketprice. By the way, you are talking about 1 or 2 minutes a flight ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  21. Tandems always open around 5000ft. Did a tandem last weekend from 15000ft (due to a weather delay the pilot decided to climb further) This was about 60seconds freefall (pro-track) And IT WAS COLD!!! Normally we drop between 10.000 and 13.000ft ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  22. When riding as passenger you can be in control!!! You are on the front, so you catch all the clean air. (By the way if yoy practice you can pull all handles from a passenger position!. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  23. Main reason DZ drop tandems at 10.000 and the rest at 13.000 is the TM can land, pick another rig and wait for the next plane. Did it several times. Only in case of a high opening the ground has to tell the pilot to wayt a couple of minutes. By the way, when a jumpplane is in deep trouble at 1000ft. You will be on the ground before you know you are in trouble. With a simple engine failure at around 1000ft you have a better change in staying in the plane. When the plane starts to spin at 1000ft. As an TM I can tell you I would take my change in jumping with my passenger and once clear of the plane pull my reserve if I have the change (time). In an uncontrollable plane you are sure you are going to die. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  24. What to do when you ar ein italy? GET OUT OF THAT COUNTRY!!! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
