It is surreal that in this day and age some folks still hold dear the idea that science is equitable to faith or magic or that science is conducted as a means to diminish religion or answer the questions of why. This disconnect with the reality of what science is proves that indoctrination is far stronger than any fact can be. Mathematical equations don't exist to answer questions of "why", nor do the theories in biology, geology, anthropology etc (even when not purely mathematically based). The idea that end results of (most) equations have anything to do with faith is quite frankly the realm of the ignorant. The same can be said for any of the physical sciences.
