  1. Thanks very much for the information; as a cypres 2 owner I've wondered how much it's going to cost me when I do have to send it in in a few years. Sounds like a pretty reasonable cost, though! Addie
  2. AFAIK, Turtle, we're always needing people, especially packers and vidiots. Ned's the guy to talk to if you're interested. These winter months have been slow, but it'll get kickin' again once it warms up.
  3. There IS no better way than to show him, and with a fury, plan it out that three or four of you get in the plane with him and light him up. Exactly...it'll be a well-coordinated attack. And since Orange has a higher-than-average number of girl skydivers.... I'll just say that he's in for it!
  4. 49% Yankee, and again, I guess that's right cause my mom's from the south, my dad's from the north, and I grew up in Kansas
  5. ok...after reading this whole thread...Jason, I have to say that I'm gonna make sure I eat lotsa eggs, beans and other yummy things before the next time I see you (Guys, since I jump with him, I'll make sure to let him know that girls DO fart )
  6. I'm also looking for a place to stay, for Saturday and possibly Friday. I live in DC, so I probably will drive up on Friday night. Anyone? Addie
  7. man, I'm so jealous that you actually got all of the forecasted snow. Here in DC, we were supposed to get a foot or so, but ended up with only a few inches. And it's not even snowing today! Oh, well. Addie
  8. I started TKD when I was 13, along with my brother and both my parents. Of course, I'm the only one who's stuck with it, but it's all good. It's an awesome thing for a family to share, be it a couple or a whole family. Good for you and Morgan, Dave! Addie
  9. This thread is so hilarious cause we were just discussing White Castle at the bar last night and lamenting the lack of any here in the DC area. White Castle is such good drunk food. I envy all of you that have one in the neighborhood! Addie
  10. Actually, I remeasured myself with the help of a gear dealer, and discovered that every single measurement took was wrong. I don't know if something was wrong with the tape we were using or what, but it definitely was my/our fault. The sad thing is I haven't wanted to take a few weeks off jumping to get it fixed yet... Addie
  11. Yep, definitely get a gear dealer or someone similar to measure you. I had my bf, albeit my skydiving bf, measure me and thus my rig doesn't fit very well. The manufacturer is charging $200-$300 to fix it. Of course, I understand it, but it still sucks for me. Take the time to do it right the first time. Addie
  12. I don't have a homeowners or renters insurance policy since all my stuff is in storage or in temp housing with me; but I do have everything insured through a special sort of policy. I have a rider for my skydiving equipment that also means I won't have to pay a deductible at all if I do have to file a claim. A bit more expensive, but I thought it was worth it. Insurance is definitely a necessary evil, especially for all of us in this sport. Kansasskydiver and I know a guy at our dz who just lost all his stuff, including his rig, in a fire and he didn't have insurance. It's worth the money for the peace of mind, IMO. Addie
  13. I was looking through ebay and this ad just seemed strange to me; it doesn't sound like it was written by a skydiver and the price seems really too low. It may be legit, but anybody recognize the rig as stolen or anything? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=7123998797&rd=1 Addie[url]
  14. Yeah, I think we've all had some strange skydiving dreams at one time or another. My favorite of mine is a dream I had that I forgot to pull any handles, and landed in a field still going at terminal. As I climbed out of the crater I had made, I thought, "man, I hope that nobody saw me, cause I'll be grounded for sure." Apparently no one did, and I snuck back into the hanger. Addie
  15. Man, Kev, you're gonna be paying this one back all year to all of us.... Addie
  16. PM sent...thanks for doing this!! Oh, and I don't think I want the other bonus...but thanks for offering....
  17. However, love is never perfect. The perfect guy for me right now will be different than the perfect guy for me in 20 years. Val, I totally agree with you there...and thus, the reason that I'm scared to settle down with anyone Addie
  18. hmmm....looking at airfare from DC right now....very very tempting... Seriously, all, sounds like a great time; if I can swing it I will. Addie
  19. I know what she meant. I'm a swallower. It's much cleaner that way, especially since i love giving roadhead. You don't want a spoo mess in the car. But when i'm not in the swallowing mood, i like the guy to spoo all over my boobies. LMFAO Sunny!!! Dunno if everyone expected a reply quite that clear!
  20. Yeah, help all of us at home live vicariously through you guys....or are you all too busy skydiving to update us?

Thanks Betsy...but it really isn't helping me...now I wanna be in Eloy even more!!!! Addie
  22. So after the Christmas festivities are done, as my family takes their Christmas naps, I find my thoughts turning to Eloy, and how much I wish I were there. But for various reasons I can't be. But I'm SOOOOO jealous of those who are already there or on their way. C'mon, I know there's others of you in the same boat. Commiserate with me!! Addie
  23. Yeah good luck to all travelling right now...I just got into Kansas from DC-- only 39 hours late!! The first night, the flight was flat out cancelled out of DC, so they told me to just go home. The second night, I got to Atlanta but then my flight to Kansas was flat out cancelled so I slept there for the night. Finally got home tonight, but I know there's lots more stranded out there. Hope they all make it for Christmas. Addie
  24. Wonder who told you that Haven't seen you around the DZ for a couple of weeks, Jason....I'm heading to KS today, so I'll see you next year! Addie
  25. Shaun- Congrats on the last jump at KSUPC-- you'll miss the place. I do, and I've only been away for a few months. Good luck in South Korea, and keep in touch! Addie
