  1. I will definitely try, at least for a weekend! But Orange? Naked? We're not known for that, are we?
  2. When did this become about you? Oh, he always thinks that it's all about him. But Skydive _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ is a great idea!
  3. Dont forget about me.. I have been known to hand out some memorable hugs... True. I have seen pictures of many of said hugs. It is one of my skydiving goals to receive an Amazon hug. I hereby declare Amazon and ccowden the original hugsluts.
  4. Now that, my dear, is an excellent idea! What are the original requirements? It must involve the original hugslut somehow, of course.
  5. OK...but don't suggest the weekend that I know you're already going...I can't go that weekend and I can't miss the, um, First Annual Unauthorized Hugslut (tm) Boogie!
  6. And we can have cuddlenaps(tm) after every sunset load to refresh us for the evening.

    Language Study

Yeah, tell me about it. Posting about language was an attempt to justify time spent on dz.com. Guess you saw right through it, huh! Thanks for the luck, I'll definitely need it!
  8. I'm there!! Will the boogie fee be paid in hugs?

    Language Study

Thanks for the suggestions! I try and do both, and I watch the Greek news almost every day (too bad there's no option for subtitles on there). Anyone else? I need serious help, especially when it comes to verb conjugations!
  10. The worst boogie I've ever been to was a small weekend boogie this summer. It was a one-plane boogie, and they grossly underestimated the number of jumpers who would be attending. Thus, we had to wait for a long time for each load. To top this off, halfway through the day they realized people were double manifesting and announced that this was no longer allowed. However, several people were able to get around this rule by manifesting under different group names so the manifest people wouldn't notice. Also, the boogie was at a non-DZ airport (so no one knew the area well) with a tailgate plane that didn't have GPS spotting. Consequently, there were several bad spots. Then on Sunday, the plane broke. Most of us just gave up and went home then. For me, a good boogie can result from a combination of any of the following: good company(priority), good nightlife, cheap jumps, good jumping, safe jumping, lots of jumping, beautiful weather, interesting aircraft, good facilities and/or good alchohol and food. I haven't attended any boogies (other than the above-mentioned one) that I have not enjoyed!

    Language Study

I have a question for all those who have attempted some sort of intensive language study. I enjoy the language (Greek) and spend 5 hours per day in classroom instruction, but have a hard time studying at night. I do the assigned homework and make flashcards for vocabulary. I talk to myself while walking around the house (yes it sounds funny but I think it works) and listen to Greek music. Does anyone else have any suggestions for things that worked for them while studying any language? Thanks! Addie
  12. What makes the house your dream house? What it looks like at the beginning, or what you put into it over the years? Houses or relationships; you start with something that's got good basic structure, and then learn to maximize it. That dream house probably has bad plumbing or siding that deteriorates in a couple of years. Wendy W. True, Wendy, those are words of wisdom there. I guess I have to change my outlook on some things.

    Number 3

Congrats, Bill! I also hate the pressing of each button repeatedly to get the letter. Whichever phone company picks this up, they will really have an advantage.
  14. Well happy birthday, Brigitte! I don't know you, but I sure hope you had a good one and celebrated it properly!
  15. I dunno; I really like this idea. I'm scared to death that someday I'll sign the house contract and then the next year my dream house will be built down the road.
  16. No, we are calling you a hugslut in the kindest sense of the word, don't worry. Carry on
  17. is that better than Cuddlenap(tm)? I dunno, Turtle, but I think Krisanne definitely should trademark it as well!
  18. Oooh oooh hugslut, good word!
  19. Popular? Nah, I just heard he was easy... See, Krisanne, you'd think he'd be offended by that; instead he's proud of it! Good job making friends, Chris!
  20. I agree with WrongWay on this one; I have gotten to jump with a lot of people (including WrongWay himself) who are much better than me partly by being nice. And after I jumped with a few people on the dz, the word spread about my skill level. But I've never been afraid to do a solo if no one wants to jump with me on a given load. Often, in freeflying, I'll find someone to jump with at the loading area! Don't worry, it will come with time! And please don't forget this feeling when you have more jumps; be willing to jump with the lower-number people as well. This weekend I took a guy out on his first two sit-fly jumps and it was very rewarding to me.
  21. Now that's funny....it's amazing how one little post from Chris has us climbing all over each other to hug him! You sure are popular on here, Chris
  22. No kidding, that would have been nice. Tre Tre took those pics of Dan and I. They came out really well. Ah, I remember seeing Tres get out with you guys and wondering what was going on. Cool! I need to jump with more folks with still cameras!!
  23. Cool! You are talking about the video for the naked jump, right?! Ummmm....no...the one from my 300th
  24. Nice pics, Jason. Who took those? Wish we could have had a camera for your FIRST freefly jump on Saturday!
  25. Hey, thanks for posting that link...I missed the first quarter of the game cause I was at the DZ. Everyone at work today was asking me about it, so now I can have something constructive to say. Isn't it funny how if whuffos know you skydive, they'll bring up anything they come across having to do with skydiving?
