  1. Actually, the new alarm has a VERY loud robo-human voice that thunders at you that you have tresspassed and violated many ordinances by being in this compound!!!!!!! How would you like that to greet you when yer all geared up and about to start climbing. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  2. Sizzle sizzle means: This great sight was jumped and jumped by scads of noncommunicating new jumpers. The barbed wire fence that surrounds the stick had obvious tresspassing damage done to it, and it is now VERY obvious to the MAN that there are idiot wannabe flickers on this object. Not fully burned yet, but now very hot with a freaky new motion sensor installed. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  3. Having hit a cliff and a building in my 200+ BASE jumps makes me incredibly lucky, or unlucky, depending on which way you look at it. That being said, I think that striking an A sounds like the worst of the 4 object strikes that one can have. I walked away both times, and hitting an A just sounds more like a nightmare to me. I guess only one man can tell us for sure. Congrats on living dude. Hank........... "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  4. Nice job dude!!! Did ya kick and flap on exit or were you rock solid? "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  5. Jason, crap on the helmet issue. A far more interesting question would be- Should we require BASE specific rigs for BD? Or should we allow Racer containers with D-Bags and only God knows what for a parachute inside. I bet you'll get different answers from the Dropzone.com newbie crowd than from the Blincmag gang. And by the way, was the dood who bounced his skull off the truck bumper a BASE jumper with BASE gear or not? Love and Kisses, Hank..... 6. As I've always understood it, being prepared for your risers and the direction your canopy is heading is allright, as long as when you reach for the risers(after pitching), you don't jam your hands into a deploying packjob. What I mean is that, hopefully you are face down in flight and everything is deploying behind you, what good is gonna come from trying to reach behind you and grab things you can't see. After pitching, square up for deployment and be ready for anything. An experienced mentor or qualified instructor could probably better explain this. "The best BASE jumper in the world is the one who is having the most fun!". A quote, ripped off and modified, from a climber.... "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"

    BASE/Family

I wouldn't take my Mom/Dad/Bro/Sis or my 9 year old out to watch me BASE jump. I've had a couple of "easy" jumps blow up in my face, and I've seen "easy" jumps blow up, literally, in other peoples face. I just don't want to take a chance on being responsible for my family having nightmares for the rest of thier lives. Just my personal feelings regarding my family. Faber, you ALMOST made 2000 posts in one year. Let's try a little harder this next 12 months....... "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  11. Tom, there are at least 3 other posts on this same thread that refer to, "that cliff that's named after a frozen pizza", by its actual name. I however was bad, as you stated, and won't do it again. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  12. Just got back today and there's around a dozen jumpers from all over mulling around. As Tom said, a quick call to Vertigo is probably not a bad idea. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  13. Wednesday afternoon through the weekend. Just flicked...yesterday and it's as short as ever. Hank *****"I came to kick ass and chew gum, and I'm all out of gum"**** edit: consider your wrist slapped. Bad Hank! Bad! Bad! "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  14. Motorola Talk-Abouts, every jumper ought to own a pair! "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  15. I know the same reinflation story Tom was refering to, and it's why I chopped IMMEDIATLY after crashing through the glass. If re-entering the building you just jumped off of doesn't bite it enough, gettin sucked back out has got to be the biggest mindf**k of all. Sorry to not answer the orginal question. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  16. Chechbase' question is tailor mader for Tom Aiello. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  17. Thanx for the reply Bigwallmaster, and let me also welcome you to the club. I have always refered to my self as a climber witha BASE addiction. Bachar-Yerian, Astroman, 5.12 on the Diamond with Derek Hersey is all alot more exciting with this little secret you have on what you're gonna do on your rest days. It's so nice to appreciate the stone as a whole, the ascention, as well as the descention. Have fun and be safe dood! "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  18. Was just wondering how you came up with the acronym, Bigwallmaster? Do ya climb! Oh yeah, and I do a hybrid thing where I start flat packing with clamps, and once it's clamped, I put it over my shoulder and pro pack it, AND THEN, lay it on the ground and neaten it up. As the great Earl Redfern used to say though, "BASE parachutes are like women, if you show em too much attention, They'll F##k you over every time". "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  19. I have always had the best luck at a place called "The Bowen". It's totally obvious in the middle of town on Main street and they are especially cool with dogs, and they don't care how many folks you cram into a room if low budgets are your thing. The "Moab Valley Inn" is also great. Pool, hotub and decent indoor packing. South End of town on the left This is probably gonna be where you'll find a lot of jumpers. It's the preferred choice of the Colorado Crew, though not as dog friendly as the Bowen Hotel. Hope this helps. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  20. As the clear winner of the "Most Scared BASE Jumper" award at the RG that weekend, I would like to be the third person to congratulate Robin for his decisive victory in his own category. way to go Robin! "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  21. Oh yeah baby!!! I already have your first 10 loads full already. Look for the Colorado Crew prior to the T-Boogie. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  22. IMHO, wait closer to the FJC. If you aren't hearing talk of BASE at the DZ, then those are maybe some smart BASE jumpers. The sports don't like to be confused with eachother, for good reason. Tread smartly, like you are right now, and you'll probably have a blast. The cool saying goes, "You don't choose BASE, it chooses you". "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  23. For me, this is one of the best "extras" about going to Bridge Day. There are so many people selling once in a lifetime chances at getting, wicked homeade/professionaly done BASE videos and they are usually drunk vendors and selling the videos for $10. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  24. Hey Gardner, you still owe me for 3 nights at the Royal Gorge! Or does my alcohol and drug induced midnight freakout negate that? Hope your foot is gonna be allright!! Love&Kisses---Hanky "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
  25. After the Royal Gorge Games, in casual conversation with other jumpers and mourners, my buddy Wayne Crill was informed, much to his surprise, that Harry Parker had been killed during the filming of the Vin Diesal movie "Triple XXX". I was then told immediately, and we were both crushed that we only just found this out. SO PSYCHED TO HEAR THAT THIS WAS MISINFORMED CRAP! Me and Waynes original mentor is in China with Dennis and Avery hucking buildings, maybe there is a God after all. "It takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to make that big man cry"
