  1. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get a 4 minute video down to a manageable, web friendly size. I have read all the help files, and still, 2 gig. ugh. Any thoughts from premier users how to get this accomplished? Thx ---------------------------- bzzzz
  2. Totally unrelated, but the chief pilot is Lance, my flight instructor. Does that make me a great pilot too? ---------------------------- bzzzz
  3. How about one of these guys? Weve done it 3 years in a row, jumping into an institution for mentally disabled folks. Much fun, as some of them don't know you are not that person. Yes, capes included, tucked in behind the rig on the hop-n-pop. Im superman. Fun fun. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  4. "If it is such a perfect airplane, Why does the pilot wear a parachute?" edit for sp. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  5. Water, but I don't get why you would. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  6. Did somebody Say kapow? The mountain is in the background. Tough to see at night though. I'm the last belly flyer on the right. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  7. I jumped one a bit. I don't think it is anything but a non US version of a pc 105. Regardless, it operated great and didn't seem any different than a 105. I have a 101 now, Great sky cams. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  8. Just to clarify a bit, not that I talk here much, but... There is a HUGE difference between doing a high performance landing on rear risers and landing a parachute on rears, due to a broken brake line or whatever else. So if the question is, 'Should I practice landing my lightly loaded canopy on rears, just to see how it, and I, would react in an emergency'. Then yes practice it, in that light. With advice from someone, first hand. If a person reads this thread and decides that landing his canopy on rears is certain death, then he may get that stuck in his head. With that thought in mind, instead of landing a plf'able broken brake line canopy, he may cut away at 500 feet, and be very dead. So for that yes practice, just to learn what it will do. On the other hand. A high performance rear riser landing is very dangerous. So, just don't do it, until you are allready a relatively good swooper. Then, when you decide too, learn first hand from somebody who can watch you. Don't learn it here. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  9. If you don't like 'em leaving it up, there is always this option... ---------------------------- bzzzz
  10. Are they really That concerned with FOD? Impressive. I had a buddy that worked for Gulfstream. He said those things are full of clicos and all kinds of crap. They routinely flow in epoxy to keep it from rattleing around. If he were rich, he wouldn't buy a Gulfstream. Says they run that like a bunch of good ol boys from Georgia. Oh, they are. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  11. Excellent answer! ---------------------------- bzzzz
  12. Either the time my goggles blew off on tracking away, and I spent too much time trying to put them back on . No cypres. (take that Bill Von, yes, I will jump with out one!) Or The time I exited at about some base jumpers slider up altitude, got unstable, and finally pitched, waiting for the sound of a cypress and second parachute coming out to play. I am better now... edit shcmedit. I meant base jump slider Down. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  13. 68k, cash. edited to say, it was legal. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  14. Yeah, what they said. And, get video. It helps you to review it later, with a coach or whatever. You can more easily get outside your body and visualize the way you should be. Putting that image in your mind will help too. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  15. Call me a story topper if you like, and I don't mean to minimize your pain, but I might as well whine too. My 98 Jetta went for drive last night, without me. Hasn't been seen since. Oh well, my cousin had it, to sell it. A gal was coming to buy it at 4 today. Oh yeah, no insurance, because I haven't been driving it. Oops. Oh well, at least I owned it free and clear. Time to sell a couple more houses. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  16. Quote... the only negative thing I can say about Kelly/VSE is that he should pick a better brand of car or at least one that isn't in the shop for YEARS at a timeQuote Hmm, yes it is in the shop most of time, but consider the positives. How many gear manufacturers do you know that has a car capable of Horizontal Terminal deployments? This done on a narrow coutry road, taking less than 1/2 mile to go terminal? Think of the testing possibilities! There is something to be said about a turbocharged Audi powered Shirocco. In spite of it's lust for transmission parts. Oh, and I like the rigs too. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  17. Since you said Sexy, I had to say the Staggerwing. But life isn't all about being sexy, so, I would pick the P-51 for a kickass good time. The P-51 woudld be sort of like dating a really rad skydiver chick, instead of a floofy movie star. Both good, one funner than the other. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  18. It really is a much better turn, for a number of reasons. One, is you, or a swooper, with a 270, can fly a regular downwind, base, final approach. The final portion of that is the hook. That is good, because of a couple of things. One, is everybody else in the pattern is flying the same direction as you. Also, if you recognize you are low before you turn, abort the 270, and do a 90 the other way. You land in the same place, and dont break bones. Another reason why it is good, is that if on your downwind or base leg, you recognize you are low, or high, you can cut the corner, or extend, to place yourself in the right place to hook. I don't much care for 180's, if you hadn't noticed. Fine for "B" plan, but not for your "A" plan. Oh, the above did come from one of the bad ass swoopers on "tour", not my idea, although I agree. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  19. It is windy here too, I am dying to get out of the office and get my sail boat free of the bonds of it's slip. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  20. I hadn't heard the audio before. Thought his motor had quit. But, now it just looks like he "hooked low" and high speed stalled on the rear risers. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  21. A buddy that has known me for years, and knows me really well said. 'Dude, if I were ever in a life threatening situation, there is no one I would rather have by my side than you. You could get us out of it.' yep. cool. Nothing makes me happier than helping a friend, them knowing I will, and that it will be all right ---------------------------- bzzzz
  22. It is a woman in love with a good man. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  23. yeah, Scott is a big boy too, and man can he swoop that thing. I think the physics of it all would give him some bad ass distance, if he practiced as much as those "other" swoopers out there. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  24. troll. No, dude, it aint that simple. ---------------------------- bzzzz
  25. I did it for a while with no problems. Easier to get in the bag etc. But I when I went to Pro, the openings were a tiny bit longer, and less snatchy. Plus, I didn't get called a Nancy, when I Pro Packed. Oh, the pressure. Nancy is cuter than hell, by the way. ---------------------------- bzzzz
