  1. Your exit weight is probably about 20 lbs more than your normal body weight with gear. That said you probably have about 140 lbs exit weight. On a 135 you are barely over 1:1. This is lightly loaded and quite reasonable. Just be very cautious about what you do after changing. Fly very conservatively until you have a good bit of time under that canopy.
  2. You can add me to the list of snobs. As a first jump student back in the day (ha ha) I used a 7 cell delta cloud, but after that its been PD canopies all the way. I'm waiting on my new Sabre2 now, if it'll just SHOW UP! Well, I only ordered it on Monday so I guess I should give them a little time...

Actually, your reply seemed pretty funny to me and that kinda justified the whole thing even though the original post had no discernable humor in it

    A Gift

    Thank you :-)
  5. Marriage is what the two people make it man :-) If you want it to be about money, its about money. If you want it to be about love, its about love. The world doesnt decide for you what your marriage is about, you decide for yourself :-) So, your argument is crazy
  6. I suppose this is as good a time as any to ask: What does NSFW mean? And I dont remember that from my training either...

    CD Burner Help!

Verify that the media you are trying to write on is not damaged or otherwise bad.
  8. Well, floating surely isnt my problem, quite the opposite, so I cant advise on how much weight, I only want to comment that "Chunks" of lead sounds kinds dangerous to me. What if you have a bad landing on a chunk of lead? Lead shot is small, malleable, and unlikely to cause any injury but I'd be careful with those chunks. You could get a serious bruise or worse landing on one
  9. I just dont pick up the phone while I'm working out unless I'm expecting an important call :-) In Pennsylvania we have a "no call" list and telemarketers arent allowed to call people on it. This doesnt stop them all, but it HAS reduced the volume quite a bit
  10. Whats the best way to sell used gear to a total stranger on line where you can include a gear inspection and insure that both parties are protected from a rip-off?
  11. Can anyone point to a good on-line resource that can describe all the common canopy control methods? I have yet to move beyond simply using toggles and I'd like to read up on what can be accomplished using risers and how/when/where these methods are appropriate.
  12. You forgot to mention that he has a SERIOUS beard
  13. I honestly believe this is a good choice. Regarding the incident you posted in your last message, I'd bet a skyhook would have performed differently in that circumstance due to the additional speed of deployment and pull from the main canopy.
  14. If you stil have the choice to include one in your new Vector and the additional $175.00 isnt an issue, then get it. You can always disconnect it :-) I was deciding if I wanted a Vector or a Javelin last week. I like them both for looks AND function. I decided on the new Vector 3 M over a Javelin specifically because of the Skyhook. I cant find a single good arguement to not have one and a lot of good arguments TO have one.
  15. I think this is the funniest freakin thing I've read in months. One of my many hats is e-mail administrator and damn do I see a ton and a half of that crap every day. This is a keeper
  16. I did the same. Married a Canadian and moved to Canada for a couple years. This doesnt mean you have to change your citizenship. If you can get dual citizenship then go for it. DONT give up your citizenship in the United States
  17. No, you have made a good investment for your .02 I agree about reasonable discussion. Its the ones where people start claiming that THIER way is "the one" or telling other people that their treatments are wrong, silly, or ineffective. They are counterproductive and make some folks upset. As far as open reasonable discussions and suggestions, I'm all for it.
  18. Does this mean that if CrazyIvan comes into a lot of money he will become "EccentricIvan"?

    Skydiver logic

Its true in that you will be stronger, more flexible, and less injury prone. This wont make you a "better" skydiver, but it could very well make skydiving "better" for you :-)
  20. Only because I've seen many long threads on the subject where dozens of folks offer differing opinions and advice and then someone else completely disagrees :-) Different things work for different people. People suffereing from depression need to find what works best for each of them. Its between them, their doctor, and their higher power. Suggestions are great as long as they are taken with a grain of salt and not accepted as gospel. Not only will some not work for some folks, but some might actually be harmful. Arguments about them are useless and help nobody.
  21. This is one topic that has been completely beat to death. FYI, hard physical workouts are a good "natural" treatment for depression if you dont like taking meds. Endorphins rock This has made MY life far better and seriously smoothed out the peaks andvalleys of my own mood swings. Meds did nothing for me, working out was a big help. This doesnt mean its for everyone!! It CANT hurt to try :-)
  22. Yeah, you will be up there all day long wishing you could go out the door... Just think of the dramatic exits you could make if you get into a big argument with a co-worker!
