  1. Ok, whats the deal with all the mals? Through talking to folks and reading these forums I see people talking about malfunctions and chopping like it happens to them every Thursday. Other folks can go 3 or 4000 jumps without a single cutaway. You just cant convince me that this is pure chance. What are the 2 groups doing differently? I want to be in the latter group myself. Is this just from shitty pack jobs? If thats the case, why wouldnt someone with 2 or 3 mals in 200 jumps get the idea before they get a mal they cant deal with? Are there brands of equipment that malfunction more often? Is this just a useless post?

Thats an enlightened comment :-) He may be a lot that people dont like but I'd have to say that the president is not a "clueless idiot" Either way, the world is a better place without Saddam running the show in Iraq. He was a sadistic, self serving prick and didnt even care about his own people. I dont feel the need for the president to justify what we did. Not to me, anyway.
  3. I DO I DO! Must be cool at all costs. Cool people smoke, drink, and use drugs too right? Show me the way! I have no identity of my own!
  4. Why would you think this? Not everyone out there is driven to downsize every 15 jumps I'm investing in some new gear which I fully expect to be using for many years.
  5. Man, I'm gonna have a bad dream where I'm being chased by that toe. I just know it. I didnt know something could look that nasty and still be alive.
  6. Not to sound flip, but maybe you want to consider one of the open source UNIX OS's like Linux or FreeBSD. I use them both and ignore Windows as much as I possibly can. As to your current predicament, if nothing else has been changed, added , subtracted, installed, or otherwise changed lately and this just started to happen on its own, you might have a piece of memory go bad on you or other hardware issue that has nothing to do with the OS. Sometimes when memory goes bad all can seem ok until the OS tries to access a specific memory address which, in your case, may happen once you open enough windows to require the use of that address space.
  7. Gah! lemme say that again. GAH!!!

  15. That still exits in the usual way during sex. The only difference is that the sperm cells are absent. You still ejaculate semen, there are no sperm cells in it.

Read Harry Potter. Catch up on the "latest lingo". People actually read those books? i know my 11 year old sister does, but ppl on dz.com!? wow, now that's an eye opener. Yep... quite a few of my friends have read most of them, and they are all in thier twenties. I'm 38 and read all of them except for the most recent one. Waiting for all the hub bub to die down. They are all good book for old and young people alike. Well, as long as the child in you is still alive. I have yet to meet a skydiver whose inner child was not alive and kicking!
  17. Thanks Canuck! nice swoops
  18. You will probably stay on the same equipment for the duration of your training and up till you get your A. ITs not a preference thing while you are a student. They put you on what they think is best for your weight and experience. You wont really have any say in the matter. After 2 jumps I dont think you are quite ready to downsize Smaller will go faster and turn more quickly, lose more altitude in turns, faster vertical descent rate.etc. Larger canopies (lower wing loading) are much more forgiving of mistakes.
  19. Cool, thanks Vicki
  20. I'm lookin to order a new Sabre2 and trying to decide on colors. All the charts that PD and the various distributors provide all say that the colors are not meant to represent the real colors. Yay! So how is one supposed to decide? Anyone know of any good pics of PD colors? I'm specifically interested in the blues Navy, Royal, Turquoise, Light Blue If you have any good pics of Sabres with these colors can you send them or post them? Thanks Chris
  21. Not fixed, not gonna ever be fixed. Have 2 sons from previous marriage 9 & 11 and will be having no more. Wife has 2 boys from previous marriage. Dont want any more, 4 is plenty. Wouldnt have minded a little girl but oh well I probably would have hated it when she was 16. I know what teenage boys want! My wife is fixed. Not a mutual decision as she made it before we ever met :-) Both os us disease free and monogamous. Works for me!
  22. Same advice. At 205 you will be 225+ out the door. As a student you DONT wanna load your canopy. At least a 230 or larger to start with. 210 is too small for you. I weigh 210 lbs I'm buying a Sabre2 230 myself.
  23. Well I'm not sure about the weight, but the height has to be at LEAST high enough for the chute to open!
  24. I'd say to base your canpoy size on the MAX you expect to weigh and the max WL you want to fly at. It would suck to buy that 170 and then put on 30 lbs. Wight rarely ever stays static. I'm into bodybuilding and I'm cut at 5' 11" and 210 lbs. (naked) I might go as high as 230 lbs when I'm in a building phase. I average 220 lbs. I'm getting a Sabre2 230 because its an acceptable WL at any weight I might be during my training phases. I'm relatively inexperienced so I prefer to not load much higher than 1:1. Granted, I'm not going to go as fast at my lightest but for safety sake I consider my heaviest as the one I base my canopy size on. Be realistic about what you think you will weigh down the road or you might end up overloading your canopy.
