Howdy all, I just found out that the my Javelin harness needs some work referencing Service Bulletin SPSB: 03032000 - Revision B I purchased this rig used a couple months ago and the seller did not inform me of this problem Anyway, since I was dumb enough to be taken in, I'm stuck with it. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/archive/gear/download.cgi?d=1021240270 BACKGROUND: Small diameter main canopy suspension lines (similar to Microline 550 and Vectran 500) can get caught around the grommet in the main Closing Loop Retainer and could result in a serious horseshoe malfunction with a suspension or steering line caught in the container after deployment. Can anyone tell me the average cost of repairing this defect?

IF they want to give it a shot they will seek you out. All you need to do is make them aware that you are a resource for that type of activity. If they dont weanna jump, nothing you do will change it. Believe me, I was so poor I subsidized half my initial training by recruiting people to do tandems :-) I got to know right away if someone was the "type" Word of warning. Dont try to recruit in a bar. You will get every guy in the joint claiming that they want to do it. The next day its amazing how many things "come up" and stop them from doing it.

Made my first jump in 1989. Jumped on a really slow pace (no money ) up till 1995. Stopped all together (less than no money) until 2 months from NOW when my new rig arrives so that was an 8 year layoff and I hope I never take a break again.

One would assume that if they were straight, they would stay straight forever. Unless of course you believe that being gay is contageous :-) Most gay people I know (including my sister) believe they were born that way rather than being made that way by circumstances beyond their control.

I hope you dont feel that way about ALL PA skydivers :-) My home town is Gloucester Mass and I intend to jump at all the DZ up there next summer when I go home to visit :-)

Its been 8 years for me, and I still have to wait till my new gear arrives. October will hopefully be my return to the sky and frankly the WAIT IS KILLIN ME. I aint jumpin no rental gear after the wad I just dropped for the new stuff though so I'm hangin tough

Lots of good DZ here in PA, only real jumping hassle here is WINTER.

I had heard of a formula in which they lost a certain percentage of their initial value as soon as its purchased and then $1.00 per jump. Given that, I wouldnt think a main with that many jumps on it would have much resale value

Cant rightly say why. It just does. Wouldnt trade it for anyone elses
