  2. As long as we're playing this game: brake: these things slow you down break: what happens to bones when you forget to brake - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. I think you don't give your fellow skydivers enough credit. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  4. Warning: Major Thread Drift: What in the hell kind of world do we live in where a child needs parental consent to get an AIDS test but doesn't need parental consent to receive an abortion? There's definitely something wrong with that. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  5. While MOST of the AIDS cases in the US today may be limited to one or two particular groups, that does not exclude other groups from receiving the bug. I can't recall a single time when anyone has claimed otherwise. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  7. Based on what? Political posturing by an Iranian diplomat? "We will bury you!" - remember how that one turned out? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  8. Better yet: Don't post anything negative about any DZ if you want to continue skydiving --without substantiating your claims--. There's nothing wrong with saying "Hey, I was DZ X over the weekend and they really pissed me off when they did -this-, or -that-, or whatever. But don't come here whining unless you're willing to share with us more than simply "they were mean to me" or "they made me mad" or "they're a bunch of poopie heads". At least tell us HOW or WHY they were mean. Fair enough? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  10. What specifically went wrong? What happened that they made you feel like an ass? If you go to the DZO or management with nothing more than "Your staff is mean and rude", then he'll likely brush you off (I know I would). On the other hand, if you go to the DZO with concrete examples of how you were mistreated you'll likely get a bit more attention. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 12. Shouldn't he have brought the canopy to you immediately after he bought it, and certainly before he tried to sell it? He knew its history, after all. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  13. You're missing the point. If Airtec posted information about every Cypres fire today you can bet that the majority of them would end up in a two canopies out scenario. Airtec though, due to the market dominance and acceptance doesn't have to post all of their saves, people already know that it works. The question you should be asking or concerned with isn't "Why have 4/5 Vigil saves resulted in a two out?", but rather "Did the Vigil fire when it met the preprogrammed parameters or did it fire before that?" If the Vigil did fire when it was supposed to then it worked - that's a Good Thing (it also means that you need to look past the Vigil to explain the two out). If it didn't, then it's time to go back to the drawing board. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  15. The only Cypres 'save' I've been witness to resulted in a two out. What's your point? Edit: I take that back. I've personally been witness to TWO Cypres 'saves', both resulting in a two out scenario. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  16. Not necessarily. I think it's already been mentioned, but these creatures, left unchecked, could ruin the fishing industry as well. Also, pay attention to Bill's post about the spreading of disease and the closed beaches. I have a feeling that the killing would continue regardless of our demand for fur coats. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  17. I've noticed that since you've started posting here that everyone else is wrong and that you're always right. It's going to be fun having you around. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  18. It's one of those 'been there, done that' things around here. Of course that's never stifled any other discussion in SC. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. I haven't seen it, as a matter of fact I didn't even know of it until a few days ago. As far as wanting more data about the claims - it's out there, all you need to do is look for it. Hell, searching the Speakers Corner will turn up plenty of discussion (both childish and serious) about the Iraq war, Google and your local library would be good too. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends.
