  1. Uh, no it's not. It's certainly not inhaled in nearly the quantity as 'primary' smoke. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  2. Are you comparing burning the flag to setting your neighbor on fire? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. Excellent news, LR. Thanks for the update. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  5. Here's an idea. If you're so sure that this guy is legit, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and stop paying your taxes. That might be fun! - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. See above. This is a funny, people. Lighten up. Smile.
  7. We don't need any forward looking solution and high taxes certainly aren't 'forward looking', anyhow. The already high price of gas is driving the demand for fuel efficient cars, and that in turn is driving the development and distribution. Fuel efficient cars will be here in force in the next 5 years, I'm sure of that. Until then I think we're doing just fine with what we've got. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  8. The only people who can truly destroy America are us, the Americans. We've gone through tough times before and come out just fine, I have no doubt that we can, and will, do it again. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  9. Why? He's paying for it, he can do with it what he chooses. Who are you to decide that he's wasting? Who are you to decide that he's wrong and you're right? Disgusting. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  10. Let's not and say we did. Because gasoline is already taxed, those who use more pay more. What's the problem with that? I already mentioned that personal finances are a poor reason to go hybrid, so I sure that's not a reason that people are making the move! - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 11. Interesting that they'd say that. With the exception of the barrel rolls, I thought you just described AFF jumps 1-7. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  12. That may be the case for the Toyata Prius, but I think that's where it ends. The price premium on probably every other hybrid vehicle is due to the added technology - batteries, new electronics and control systems, electric motors, etc . . . . One day, when hybrid costs are more reasonable or gasoline prices have gone completely through the roof to the point of being absolutely unreasonable, these cars will catch on. Today, however, those buying a hybrid to keep costs under control are kidding themselves; they're spending more money upfront as a tradeoff for the ongoing expense of gasoline, and right now that's more money up front than they'll likely save on gas over the life of the car. I'd wager that most people buying hybrids today are doing it to make a statement and while there's certainly nothing wrong with that it simply doesn't make financial sense for the majority of us. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 13. CrossKeys will have discounted jumps on Wednesday and likely a decent crowd, too. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  14. You think hookin it in is cool? If your profile is up to date i'll give you my rig, i'll scotch guard it so the blood doesn't stain it, i'll set up the cameras and you go spin that puppy in. Hookin in is not cool. I have personaly seen 2 fatalities from guys hookin it in. You my friend are about 1 in 50,000 who think it's cool. Everybody else is saying how much of a dumb ass he was for smashing himself up. They cheer because he actually had a pulse and was gonna make it. Lighten up, Francis. Copied directly from his post: I don't wanna be so much like him now. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  15. Uh, OK. On the other hand, the Toyata Prius isn't cost efficient. There's a heck of a premium to buy hybrid cars right now. Should someone spend the extra money on a car, or spend the extra money on food for their family? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  17. I'll go digging for the link later, but I just read a story quoteing one of the Saudi big-wigs as saying that they were going to increase production by 1/2 million barrels per day and also that they weren't yet at full capacity. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 18. People will almost always side with those who have been 'wronged', what's up for debate now (and always will be no matter the conflict) is who was 'wronged'. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. JS's shop rates and cost of parts are usually very good. Did they do any shipping or did they hand the rig to you unassembled -- did that include a reserve I&R --- there must be some missing items??? rm $359 doesn't seem out of line for a 4 year and batteries, especially if JS had to repack the reserve (which they likely would if they hadn't packed it last), apply a patch to the main and foot the bill for getting the rig back to its original owner. Does it? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  21. I know of one boogie that requires a 'D' license, so those with a 'D' and 201 jumps can go while those with a 'C' and 400 jumps can't. That's at least one advantage. That said, I agree with most everyone else in this thread, it's not a badge of honor, it's not something that buys you status. Want honor and status, prove yourself in the sky. People there don't care about a license, they care about skills and safety. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  24. Not only did it happen 4 or 5 years ago, but I'm pretty sure that it was discussed here at least once. Might be neat to dig that one out of the archives. I found it, it must have been Pre-SC because it's currently in the Bonfire: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=883278;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=50; - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends.
