  2. One can only imagine his personal anguish in dealing with his return and its disgusting taunts, to me he chose to remove himself from certain confrontations and exhibited valor once again by giving life to those who may not have been worthy. Knowing he had the means and choosing personal sacrifice instead................. I have no lost concern for the spouses of active military who desert them while they sacrifice themselves for the sake of our great nation. Thank you for your service and sacrifice America is grateful!!!!!! Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  3. B.S.B.D I saw this on youtube a week ago and lost it what a loving father it is so sad that all they will have is his memory......... Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  4. they were a great waste of money in my opinion. most started coming apart on the first jump and never quit Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  5. the reduced jump numbers and prohibitive cost are more than enough to keep the fabric from finding a place in the sport of skydiving....... no advantage cost or performance wise???? what are you looking for here????? Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  6. I am going to go blind before I make a choice........ having a hard time seeing them now at least thats what I told the wife when she asked why I was looking at the computer so hard.......LOL Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  7. dont get yourself in a hurry. Tandem is rewarding anf fun and also the most dangerous skydive you can make. It has been a bad couple of years for tandem and TI's new and old need to pay attention to that. Not everyone can do the job well enough to be successful. But then the passengers are what keep most of use coming back for more. including some who shouldn't. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  8. Hey chris I have hotel room I can rent you cheap near Fitzgerald for your boogie in march. The price is only 12000 per night 3 minutes from the DZ. you will take it?? great. Oh yeah it is in lodi California so I mean really close. No you cant have your money back I did not screw you. you are responsible you should have known I misrepresented everything because thats what every DZ does. Thats their defense to their actions and no one here is so stupid that we believe they are acting in good faith toward any potential customers. 9. there adds them selves are dropzone attacks......"The Skydive Tullahoma experience is the safest skydiving adventure that you can have in Tennessee. Our skydiving professionals are the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable professionals in the skydiving industry." We know the latter is false since the only people working for SlyRide are not considered professionals in our sport. Rather unethical scum who will soon succumb to the fall mighty gavel. 10. I agree with your statement but this is hypothetical right??? If every person before you has landed the same way then don't disrupt the flow. But a blanket statement that only the canopy pilot can determine the correct landing direction for them self is self serving and detrimental to safe landing practices of every skydiver on-site period. 11. If she chose the moniker: either he is well endowed and great looking or she wanted the skydiving comunity to laugh at him. If he chose it: short dick and he knows his wife is fucking massive meat and he needs to make himself feel better????? Maybe its just a ploy to get you to ask this question????/ Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  12. Thanks for the update. We all hope the trial is successful. Is the state seeking the death penalty since it was planned???? Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  13. It is obvious you nor bikerxx have seen close friends die because someone decided their needs to land into the wind was more important than the DZ's decision to set a pattern. You also offered no evidence that the other jumpers were not confronted about their chose of an alternative landing direction. In varied no wind situations like you described it is imperative that the chosen landing direction is fallowed for the safety of every person in the air. If every canopy pilot chose their own direction as you clearly stated you think is the right way you would not be able to control the fatalities in our sport. If you can not land in side or down wind conditions as you described dont put your ass in the air. Far greater skydivers than yourself have lost their lives because patterns were not fallowed. With your jump numbers giving this type advice should give those you jump with great concern and pause to be in the air with you. I know i would make sure you were never in the air with myself or any person I cared about. Skygods are born every minute. Gongratulations You just got your wings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 14. You are already in a nasty mess period. At your skill level go silver since your aad is likely to fire before you process the info needed to do anything. If you first notice your altitude at 1500 you will be at or below cypress fire alt by the time you get your hand on anything. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  15. There are many DZ's that give refunds when weather does not permit the scheduled jumps. Skydive Smoky Mountains has a large amount of business from tourist and giving refunds is their normal procedure. If you show up and cant make yous skydive because of weather you are offered 2 options. 1. to reschedule 2. Refund of purchase They dont ask if you are on vacation to determine which you choose. The fact that you defend SR refund practices does not explain why you think their advertisement practices are OK........ Please enlighten us all to your position on that......... 16. Ive also seen people doing a proper stall surge and still get pounded. Thermals and rotters can create havoc on any landing but especially when you take the control out intentionally at such a low altitude with no recovery room. If the winds are so high that you would otherwise be backing up on landing it might be to windy??????? Having backed in a couple over time it seems a bit to dangerous for an everyday procedure. Why would anyone want to put a tandem passenger in that situation. Hook turns are for swoopers and should be left out of the tandem experience. If you cant land your tandem canopy without some sort of performance enhancing landing technique get a new canopy or a new JOB! I do not consider a slow turn to be performance enhancing as much as it is control of position and speed of the landing. That said it should not be needed for a good landing. If you have to build speed for a safe landing something is wrong but this is definitely the safest way to go about it. JM2C Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  17. "Let's say that you have a main horseshoe malfunction, and you are going to have to dump your reserve up through it. Now let's say you have not one, but two reserve pilot chutes on your reserve bridle, which are connected so as to form a letter " Y ". What are your chances that that " Y " shaped junction, with a pilot chute on each upper end, is going to make it up through, and past, your main horseshoe. Not very good, I think. Do you really still want a Catapult? " bill booth http://ttp:/...search_string=reflex Her is a link to some thoughts on the catapult chris Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  18. one night at the farm Greg,s kids had a homecoming party. He made it clear the skydivers were not to mingle with them. they had their own area. This was the night I met Rosta Rican. We were talking ther normal skydiver BS talk. My son Stephen (The Boss) 14yo was sitting on a beer cooler drinking a beer and a little tipsy when 5 of Greg,s kids friends 16 to 18 started walking over from their bond fire and he says SSShhhhhhhh stop talking about sex the kids are coming. He said it loud enough for the kids to hear. We fell on the ground laughing so hard. He is the greatest gift of my life and happens to be Autistic. 19. craftsman sucks. sears sucks as far as service and any equipment not a simple hand tool. I bought a lawn tractor form sears that was on sale because it sat outside for a season and got some rust. When it shorted out and blew up in march after only 5 months they would not honer the warranty. I sued and won but in my research I found that they treat all large claims the same way. the judge found the same and awarded me more in punitive damages on top of the cash value of replacing the tractor. 21. No one said or implied that anyone was required to post incidents in the forums. I can count the incidents not posted in just one week. Nor did I say not posting here was sweeping it under the rug. Not treating it as a serious incident and looking right past it would be. How ever since the original post is here I was asking the newbie to ask the DZO or instructor to post clarification on the incident. As for it being a fluke??????? Nothing he said leads me to that position. A low blow would be letting a TI who failed to preform the basic safety duties of their job continue without accepting that responsibility and taking some time to reflect on their ability as a TI. After that going through the course again might be something they want to do. Now I dont know what if anything really happened but if it happened as described,That is my opinion as a TI and TE. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  22. Ask your DZO or the TI to post the particulars of this incident in the Incident Forum or the very least instructors forum. It has obvious teaching value. I am sure this TI needs to contact her TIE before making another tandem. Also because of the cypres fire the manufacture of the gear needs an incident report. There are many issues this TI will have to work out. If this is in fact what happened it SHOULD NOT be swept under the rug. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  23. This is one reason I beleive TI should jump with the handycam every jump once they start jumping one. At first they should all be nonpaying tandems so the TI can build their routine around the cam without being scolded for missing the dive. It should be a part of every jump or non at all. When we TI's deviate from our routine it becomes very dangerous. I have jumped with a cam on my hand for the last 500 jumps and I pay more attention to the tandem than the camera. There have been a few times this year Where I had to address canopy issues during opening and there was never a thought of whether to wait or respond forsaking the video. 24. I have found no matter how big they are feet on the step gives them that last moment of security. When their feet dangle they can feel out of control before the exit. JM2C Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
