  1. That's a joke right? hehehahaha If you have a rig fail as a result of not following a recommendation from the FAA watch what happens. Think crucifixion! And I would think that a DZ would be commiting legal suicide not to require the test.
  2. I agree. I know which DZ I won't recommend or go to any more!
  3. Racer packing is a specialized skill and rarely taught in riggers' courses. Since packing Racers is a complex skill, you have to stay current. *** I agree, and since all reserves are complex in their own way you have to stay current with anything you pack.
  4. Like anything else, it is not difficult if you know how.
  5. That's because by the sound of it no one can remember where they were. But the WFFC is still #1. They even put a fence up around us so the public can't see or get to us. The police only have two rules... 1. Don't hurt anyone and 2. Don't take anything that is not yours. Everything else is and was fair game.
  6. Racers are TSO'd under 23B standard catagory, which is the unlimited catagory. We make standard rigs with 300 Firebolt mains for large people.
  7. You need to re-word your question to say that other that the WFFC which boogie has the best parties?
  8. Yes it is! No it is not! The TRUTH is known. Lets look at the TRUTH TRUTH: Tim died TRYTH: Everyone else has to live with it. TRUTH: The FAA, law enforcement, family, attorneys etc. have viewed multiple pictures and videos of the accident. TRUTH: As the result of the above the TRUTH of what happened is known. TRUTH: There was no criminal finding. TRUTH: The FAA took no action against Rod. TRUTH: Sadly, finding out anything else will not bring Tim back. TRUTH: Naming the helicopter manufacture, fuel vendor, City of Rantoul etc. have nothing to do with the TRUTH, but do have to do with deep pockets and insurance claims. TRUTH: As a result of the litigation the WFFC may be in jeopardy as also Rod's ever coming back. TRUTH: This litigation has and will keep wounds open and gain nothing that will bring Tim back or make the event safer. TRUTH: Tim is missed.
  9. It's a pregnant skyvan!.......On steroids!
  10. Yes it is. Most of the canopy manufactures have porosity meters.
  11. What the people that are making these high wing load recommendations need to ask themselves is, are they willing to accept the criminal, civil and ethical consequences for their actions? Could deviating from published manufacture recommendations that result in an injury or death constitute negligence on your part? I don’t know, do you want to take that chance? Could recommending a high wing loading for a low time jumper be perceived by a zealous prosecutor as criminal negligence for knowingly exceeding those same manufactures recommendations? Want to shoot craps with a jury on that one? What is the down side to recommending something larger and safer? So, they may have to down size one more time, at least they will probably be around to do so. If you want to make a recommendation, work with your local gear store or manufacture. This is their area of expertise. They have an incredible amount of resources available to them from people that do this everyday on a global scale. As an instructor, the information that you have is that of the particular individual that you have been working with. Discuss this information with the gear store / manufacture and you probably have a safe and happy skydiver for years to come.
  12. This is an advantage of the Racer 2K3 Tandem, only four handles (24 combinations). The emergency procedure is the same in all cases. Deploy the drogue, pull left drogue release, pull right drogue release, pull cutaway (drogue release also), pull reserve handle. Simplicity is a wonderful thing. Also the Skyhook only works if the main is out. If the drogue is not deployed (common problem), horseshoe, drogue-in-tow, or reserve deployment only, the skyhook serves no purpose. It is not as complicated as it sounds since all tandems start with the drogue deployment. It does not matter which drogue release (left or right) you use. You have to remember that the emergency procedures are also a redundant check off list of procedures that you may have already completed.
  13. ROFL I knew if I went fishing I would get one of you to bite.......hehehehe

  15. As a manufacture we recommend the commercial grade Scotch Guard (Green Can). We have tested it and use it on rigs for customers.
