Okay kids, we have added a new event. On Saturday Feb. 28 we are putting togather an 8-way star night jump for those that want to have fun and/or get their Night Star Crest Recipient Award(NSCR). I will have the forms there. The requirements for this jump are: C Lic., 200 jumps, 8-way or bigger experience and two night jumps with one in the last six months. I don't know about embrittlement, but does any manufacture allow this? I know one that doesn't for sure. And since this is an alteration it would require a Master rigger. I know of an issue going on right know where the plating was flaking off and damaging the webbing and the rings and webbing had to be replaced.

Both Strong and Jump Shack require a cutaway. I don't know about Strong but Jump Shack has two cutaway rigs.

We built a student rig and then a sport rig for someone that was 350lbs. Went through AFF with no problem and is still jumping all of the time.

The FireBolt is a nine cell full elliptical canopy that comes in stock sizes of 75, 84, 92, 110, 128, 146, 164, 182, 200, 218, 236, 298, 350 and 396. The 298, 350 and 396 are Tandem canopies. Any responsible manufacture will tell you to demo all of the canopies that you like so that you can make an informed decision as to what is right for you.

Since “whatever” was nice enough to nominate my avatar I will at least give you the background on it. The dog in the picture is “Cara”. And yes those are her skydiving “doggles”. Cara is a five-year-old Beauceron. And what does she do for a living? Skydiving of course, but there is more. Cara is a Para-rescue Canine Search Specialist for FEMA’s (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Urban Search & Rescue Task Force and Florida Special Response Team-A. She is a nationally certified Search & Rescue Dog that searches for trapped live victims in disasters and missing people. She spent 11 days at the WTC and completed 22 search missions. She is one of only nine recipients of the AKC’s (American Kennel Club) heroic service medal. She has 56 jumps including six night jumps and six water jumps. She is also a registered therapy dog that goes to local nursing homes and children’s hospital. She herds sheep on the ranch (don’t get excited Clay) and does agility and obedience. Last year she broke the world record for the highest skydiving dog and will be breaking her own record this spring. A TV reporter asked me after returning from 9/11/01 if she was my hero now; I told them she has always been my hero. Cara is shown below with her heroic service medal.

We are presently making a video of our packing class. When completed, it will be available with a cypress tool for free to riggers. In the mean time we offer free rigging classes at our factory and at any events that we attend. The next class will be at the 5th Annual Collegiate Boogie at Williston, Jan. 16-19, 2004 followed by the Mardi Gras boogie at Moss Point Feb. 21-29, 2004.
