  1. I agree, but in your own words, THINK goal.
  2. YES, it will at my DZ! And if you don't think I have the "authority" try me. I guess my focus is different than yours. I don't care where the "authority" comes from. I am goal driven, so my focus is can I enforce the rules? The answer is YES and that is what matters to me. Read my original post, I stated that your statement was not true that I had the authority and I still do. That FACT still stands.
  3. Thanks for making me piss myself laughing. Two thumbs up for that one.
  4. No, I have only factually responded to each of your points. If you are only talking about the USPA authority, then read the USPA Governance Manual as this is where the responsibilities and "authority" of an S&TA are written. And according to that manual an S&TA can even suspend an instructor rating for up to thirty days. Sounds pretty authoritative to me. I agree, but that is not the case here. I agree. Again, I am not, but the above is not where the USPA authority comes from. It is in the Governance Manual. Okay, FACT: The DZO can give the authority to enforce safety. FACT: The USPA Governance Manual gives an S&TA the authority to suspend instructional ratings for violations of the BSR's. FACT: Additional authority may be given to the S&TA in absence of a regional director by an officer of the USPA. FACT: Between the two corporations, safety can be enforced.
  5. Those were facts, no subjectivity to it! The authority is valid. If I say you can't jump that ends it. Or are you saying that you can ignore what I say and keep jumping? NOT! You seem to be confused as it is a representative position and not either of the above. And since there is dual authoritative authority, that of the USPA and that of the DZ, it provides about all of the "authority" I need. You are correct. That is part of the position. But understand that the authority given by a DZO may be different than that of the USPA. Sure You would have to state a fact for me to possibly disagree with it.
  6. I completely disagree. If you have a solid professional relationship with a DZO that supports your decisions, you have all of the "authority" you need. Skydiving is a privilege not a right. If you compromise safety to the extent that I say that you cannot jump, your done. Mike S&TA

  8. Ridiculous idea, is it not? No it is not a ridiculous idea, it is a great idea. If it is regulation that you fear, then you should want this, for if we do not regulate ourselves, the government (AKA the FAA) will do it for us. Trust me, that is the last option that you want. Mike S&TA
  9. Yeah, what Bestsy said. I look at Freeflying as exciting and Freestyle as beauty.
  10. Three weeks and counting! AggieDave, do you have anything to say?
  11. Then what do you do if another team that did not compete also wants to go? How do you select which team goes then?
  12. No, I don’t see, the USPA has every interest in this and are actively involved. If they are not, then why do you have to petition them? And if the teams pay for all of world meet cost, then what is the U.S. Team Trust Fund used for?
  13. Congratulations for all of the hard work! See you there.
  14. I don't think you understand, I know how to guarantee a mal!
  15. Yes, I'll bring the cutaway rig. But I really think it would be better if I did the packing.
  16. I have a one-word response, "DEMO" as in demo a lot of gear so that you can make informed gear decisions. There are a lot of good dealers and manufactures that will bend over backwards to send you demo gear and help you.
  17. 1.) Does canopy COLOR has an influence on canopy pack volume? Absolutely, sometimes by as much as 10% or more. 2.) Are all fabrics white when they are first manufactured (their generic color), and then dyed? No, the color is referred to as "Natural" 3.) Do different colors (blue, red, orange, etc.) influence pack volume to different degrees? Yes, the darker colors tend to increase pack volume more.
  18. RV slots are on a first come first serve basis.

  21. I can't believe you made us stop posting for 6 1/2hours, that was so mean You should feel so bad the you should offer to buy the beer. And I am such a nice guy that I will let you come to DeLand any time you want and bring it.
  22. Nope, the WFFC is a non-USPA event and all you need is proof of having done 50 jumps.
  23. Why get a modified tandem rig when you can get a regular sport rig?
  24. Sorry, I just didn't want any misunderstanding
