    tailpocket design

I just sent you an email. Its a crappy pic so I didn't want to make it any smaller. Edit: Hey your email in your profile bounced back at me. Should I try again? Or do you have another? Matt Davies
  4. I was totally disapointed when it came on tonight. My local listing said Jeb. However it was Chris Klug. If you check this link you will get the real dates for when jeb appears. Matt Davies
  5. Did It open rather hard? How is the velco on your tail pocket? If you think it is good compare it to the velcro on a new tail pocket. You might change your mind. I would almost guess line dump. There is quite a bit of slack in the lines just above your left shoulder in the pic. Matt Davies
  6. You are allowed Multiple Answers also. I know its a little lengthy but you might get a laugh out of this story. Keep in mind that Human resources didn't want to hear my side. They just slapped this letter in front of me and made me sign it. So here is the story. I work in a machine shop on 3rd shift. I have two other employees on the machine that I work on. So recently we have had some problems with how our machine has been running. So the second shift employee and myself communicate these issues to the first shift employee. We hope that he will take the time to have maintenance come down and basically give the machine a tune up. Long story short the first shift employee never gets things taken care of. What he does do though is bitch about little things like pens that are missing from our work bench. I am getting tired of him pestering me and being very pro-active when it comes to lame bull shit. How about getting the machine fixed and focus some energy in that direction. I would guess that once or twice a week I forget to leave my pen at the work bench. This guy is constantly bothering me about it. Down in the tool room we have a cabinet full of pens. These pens are cheapos to. I would guess that we get a bulk rate of like $0.10 per pen. Point being we have no shortage of pens. So the other day this guy leaves me a note saying "Please return the contents of this container (pens)." So at the bottom of his note I wrote "Here is a spoon. Eat my ASS!" Then I wrote "Dave's spoon" on a plastic spoon and proped it against the note. So when Dave got his note he took it to human resources and cried like a little girl. The way I look at it is that we work in a machine shop for God's sake. Everyone talks like a bunch of sailors. Human resources didn't approve so they wrote me up. I understand that I should not have left the note. However I think things have been taken to a level that should have never been reached. Just a little background before you pass judgment. I have never had any fights or problems with this person. We have agreed to disagree. I have worked for this company for around 5yrs and have never been to human resources for something of this nature. Here is what was said in my written warning. Matt, On 11/4/04 Dave Johnson left a note on the work bench that read "Please return the contents of this container (pens)." On 11/5/04 you added to Dave's note the response "Here is a spoon. Eat my ASS!" along with a spoon from the cafeteria with the writing "Dave's Spoon" on it. Matt, This is not acceptable behavior and the use of hostile and/or intimidating language will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Your reply note, regardless of your intent, was perceived to be hostile and was very disturbing. You are expected to demonstrate proper conduct and behavior at all times while at work. Failure to do so, will subject your to further disciplinary action up to and including termination. If you take any retaliatory action against any employee as a result of the incident mentioned above, you will be subject you to further disciplinary action up to and including termination. If you have any questions please let me know for clarification on any of these concerns. Are you kidding me. Hostile and very disturbing. I look at it as another way of saying Kiss my ass. They are treating this as if I threatened this poor guy with his life. Like I say though I shouldn't have left the note. But get a grip. Matt Davies
  7. Comming from a woman it kinda sounds like a fun idea. One of my friends was frequenting this resturant and talking to this waitress everytime he was there. So he asked her out. She told him that she didn't know. So he got this great idea to make up a resume. It was kinda funny. It could be taken as weird/despirate though. My wife figured it would scare her off. I don't know if he ever gave it to her or not but he never got the date. I will have to ask him about it. Matt Davies

    Cave base jump

Having a canopy designed for a specific style of jump or landing area is great. However I don't think it should replace good canopy piloting. I sat in the landing area at bridge day last weekend. All I can say is wow. Just for example... If you are having problems landing your mojo or fox in a landing area like we have at bridge day. You don't need to run out and by a new canopy designed for tight landing areas. You need to hit the DZ and work on it. I guess my point is that I would hate to see people trading in their old gear thinking that they will be able to go out and jump the technical site just down the road because they now have this great new invention. 9. thanks for the link. Matt Davies
  10. I read an article last night about a hot air balloon that collided with a tower (700' guyed). It had a pic along with the article. If I remember right it happened in NM. Can you imagine showing up in the middle of the night only to find a balloon wrapped up around your exit point. Hey if you climbed out on the gondola and exited from there would ya count it as an A or other??? Matt Davies
  11. I would go with a Riesling. Here is a winery that my wife and I like. I don't know if you would be able to get from them up in BC. Thats probably what I would go with. http://www.abbeywinery.com/CatalogContents.htm You probably could go with a chardonnay. I don't think it would be a favorite amongst the non wine drinkers though. I guess it just depends on if your guests are big wine drinkers or not. I would lean to the riesling though for an all around drink. Matt Davies
  12. I was on a tower jump once with a jumper on his first base jump. The winds were perfect. We had climbed almost 1000'. Way beyond what I wanted to climb that day. Winds were perfect. He was slider up. So here is how the jump went. He was very nervous. Botched the exit. He went head down right on exit. Panicked and pitched immediately. When he went head down his legs rotated over so that he was on his back. Then he rolled onto his belly facing the tower just as he got opening shock. He opened facing away from the tower. So everything worked out. There is an example of plenty of altitude great winds and things still went wrong. Things could have went much worse. So I would tend to agree that a pca might be a better substitute but I think its just a bad idea in general also. By the way I was not a mentor on that jump nor would I even consider myself a mentor. Matt Davies
  13. I took an MFR class last year. Everyone in the class was a fireman. It is my understanding that most of these people in emergency services/ rescue crews are there for the rush. They love the challenge that it gives them. So the way I look at it is, if they show up to a base accident its not because they don't want to be there. They are there for the same reason that we were there, because they love what they are doing. Does that make sense? Not to say that I wouldn't feel terrible if someone got hurt or killed saving my dumb ass. Matt Davies
  14. Im with flyingJ here. Wait until there is only a matter of seconds left before you bid. It works great when you have high speed internet. If you have dial up I would assume that you can't play this game as well. Thats how I bid. I hate it though when I have something for sale and someone like you doesn't come along. Then the item goes for a price that is way too low. Matt Davies

That was the most nascar that I have ever watched. I was flipping through and spotted the jumps. They were jumping with the golden knights. Not sure where though. I thought it was presented very well. Matt Davies

  20. It never gets better. It sucks. I have a rig on order right now. I orderd it july 2. I was told 8wks. Still no rig. My gear is being built in Florida. From what I hear they have had a pretty hectic last month or so. So its cool. But believe me I still find myself waiting by the front door every day. Kinda like a little school girl waiting for her prom date to pick her up. All giddy and excited inside. Matt Davies
  21. I won't put it so elegant but I once heard Yuri say something to the effect of "Conditions are always perfect to jump. Its just the outcome that is questionable." So I say get out there and go for it. Matt Davies
