  1. I did my 2nd night jump out of the Alhouette (sp?) at CrossKeys a few years back. It's the only time I've ever seen night jumps done out of a chopper. John Eddows flew it and took us up to 6k if I recall correctly.
  2. Delmarva, hands down, is the closest dz to Annapolis (roughly an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how fast your drive). A lot of Delmarva jumpers are actually from the Annapolis/Severna Park area. Come on out, you'll have a blast.
  3. let's see, you made the 1337 association while delivering your first baby... so, tell us, how was it seeing your first vagina? too easy
  4. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2321525;search_string=bsbd%20shirt;#2321525 thats a thread from the history and trivia forum. many people post pics, shirts, etc with the logo. hope thats what youre looking for.
  5. If you describe it as an aerial photographer/videographer, and talk about time management, adapting product to the customer's needs, editing, etc., I think it's something that could sound reasonable. It's always good to use numbers too, such as "Created custom-edited product for 20 customers per weekend", or "Decreased video package turn-around time by 10% through modified editing techniques", you know, stuff like that.
  6. It sounds to me like you are getting offers for some pyramid schemes. "Residual income" is a term that usually indicates it is a pyramid scheme. I know of some that sell insurance as well, so be careful with what you respond to.
  7. I am excited about the bungee closure. I have always thought that it was a great thing on the Cookie boxes and look forward to seeing it on other helmets.
  8. I actually think the new nano is kind of ugly. Just my opinion. Glad I have the (now) old one.

  10. Gregor you know you only posted that because you're in the video Oh, and since I don't think they said it in the video, this happened at Skydive Delmarva in Laurel, DE. More pics from the event and of the weekend can be found here.
  11. i wear wings. can't get the range of fall-rates i need in anything else (i'm 200#, so a freefly suit just doesnt cut it for me, at least with my current abilities)
  12. haha, thats awesome. carol is the queen, no doubt about it.

    Who's better off

Currently it figures to about 8 minutes.
  16. My understanding from previous threads was that the general consumer has little to no use for the Lanc port, so they are eliminating it from consumer cameras. Professional grade equipment will still have Lanc ports.

    Do you smoke?

Wow. Congratulations! I think you made a very smart move, for you and your loved ones.
  18. I was once at a party where a guy thought it would be funny to spray pepper-spray up into the ceiling fan. Just being in the room was painful/annoying enough for me. But I totally see where you're coming from, so I say go for it... and don't forget to get video!
  19. Sorry, I'm a bit slow this morning. Already got 5 in before work, so most of my morning energy has already been used
  20. Yeah, that's the thing with shoes, you don't really notice the "wear" on them that actually matters. You can see traction wear and whatnot, but what really matters is the shock absorption characteristics that slowly deteriorate over time (think piece of foam getting molded after repeated compacting). That's probably why your gel inserts helped for a little bit. They provided some added shock absorption, but not enough that you'd get out of new pair of kicks. I know, stupid engineers...
  21. I second all of that. I used to but new shows once or twice a year... but that was when I was a poor college student and couldn't afford to buy shoes that often. I have since upped my mileage and I do about 25 miles a week, replacing shoes sometime around 300-500 miles. Replace your shoes, most likely that will solve your problem. Replace them every 300-500 miles to be safe. Better to prevent injury than repair it. It's worth the money.
  22. You herd right, HERD was here the weekend before. Congrats again for taking 1st in the accuracy portion of the competition! I would say, however, that an even bigger accomplishment on your part was getting Ron Hudson to dirtdive! I think he owes for that one! Good seeing you again this weekend. Glad you had fun! I know I sure as hell did!
  23. and now the Chinese are guilty of it too: http://www.cnn.com/2007/funnynews/08/16/strange.name.reut/index.html?eref=rss_topstories @
  24. I think it important to note that if you are purchasing an "AFF package" that includes a certain number of jumps at a discounted price, that price does not include any subsequent costs that might be associated with repeated levels. It is very common to need to repeat a level in AFF/AFP programs, so be prepared to spend more than you are quoted. If you get it done in the alotted number of jumps that come in the package, great, but don't be surprised if you end up spending more. This applies to many, if not all dropzones.
