  6. ABSOLUTELY normal! this is one of the main reasons most skydivers recommend getting your first jump videoed. your first jump is so much of a sensory overload that most don't remember it. i honestly don't remember my first tandem but i watch my video and have a pretty good idea of how happy i was. dont worry, its normal. as the jump numbers keep rolling along, you'll remember more and more, and at some point in time, the only things youll ever think about are your memories from up there keep on jumpin! and welcome aboard!!
  7. so you do miss texas? id love to do her! tell her to PM me so we can get together
  8. ive been jumpin for a little under a year and a half now, 179 jumps so far, loving every minute of it!
  9. i was jumping on a day i shouldnt have been (~20mph with 30some jumps) and at around 1500ft i was directly over the landing area and for some reason though i HAD to make a left-hand pattern landing... hmm, well after 4 quick turns i was just about ready to land, crabbing my way directly into the Skyvan! i freaked out, and at about 15ft what seemed like a crosswind came so i braced for landing with my hands (not a good idea) causing my canopy to slam me right into the pavement and the side of the dz range rover! owwwwwch. not to mention a bunch of people were watching (including heath richardson so i was real embarassed). anyways, lessons learned: 1. if winds are iffy, dont jump 2. fly your canopy until youre on the ground... screw bracing for impact 3. range rovers and pavement hurt
  10. well, i'll just assume i had a good time, haha. that night, i blacked out early in the evening... next thing i know its morning and i wake up and im back home... 2 HOURS AWAY!!! apparently my friend, ahmed, thought we had to go home in the middle of the night it's like i magically got transported from x-keys back to DC
  11. i was wasted in your camper last season?? errr... fill me in on the info, cuz i sure as hell dont remember really, it wasnt my fault! will wanted to split a fifth and it was gone in 20 min, thats all i remember... and something about walkie talkies

    is this ok?

putting an open parachute in a dorm building is not a good idea. i have my rig here on campus and everyone wants to "try it off the top of the building"... oh those crazy whuffos sad thing is im tempted to let them, it's only 80ft tall
  14. I did my first jump a few years back when I was 17 years old. I had to get the waiver signed and notarized by both of my parents, no exceptions. This past summer I tried getting my 16-year-old sister to jump there, but apparently they have changed their personal rules allowing 16 and 17-year-old's to jump. I guess I could always take her to Canada, eh?
  15. ...some of my favorites... For me, the worst thing about having King Kong walk down your street is that kids could look up and see the giant genitalia. In weightlifting, I don't think sudden, uncontrolled urination should automatically disqualify you. I'll never forget the time my friend Stew went skydiving. Boy, what a mistake that was! First of all, his parachute didn't open. Second, we didn't have the right address, so before we got there we got lost and went driving all around for almost an hour. And third, when we finally did get there, Stew tried to back out and we had to talk him into going. I'd like to see a nude opera, because when they hit those high notes I bet you can really see it in those genitals. jack is definately the man...
