  1. Shoot, you beat me to that post. If there is a smaller A/C at even the bigger DZs, why not have a group of coaches approach the DZO and ask them about doing what Skr does. It does worry me that there are some jumpers out there that have no idea how to spot or even stick their head out the door and check the spot. 2. Grant, I'm with AndyMan. Just because some people are complaining, I hope it doesn't burn you not to offer a DVD full of extras for the WFFC in 2003. Can't wait to see the end result.
  3. I had some excitement today. WFFC (Michael) came over to my place and I sprayed sticky gooey stuff under his new video helmet. At least he was thinking and brought a drop cloth to cover my kitchen floor Gee, that stuff is really sticky. It looked like some kind of alien was growing out of Micheal's head. I'm sure Micheal is still picking sticky stuff off his arms. Hope the arm hairs grow back okay May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 4. Depends on what you're looking for. I suggest asking yourself a few questions first. How many jumps do you have and how many canopies in the air do you feel comfortable with? What kind of landing area are you looking for, what kind of jump ships are you wanting to jump from, and how far do you want to travel? Each boogie offers something different. What ever one you decided on, be safe and have a good time. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 5. Congrats.........you go girlfriend. I just passed the 24 year mark. Wow, you think I could skydive better with 24 years under my belt. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  6. Good luck and stay safe. I was an Air Force brat and my dad was gone so many times. Every time he walked out that door, I prayed I'd see him again. Thank God, he is now retired and home safe. 7. Well since I can't seem to find it in the Loveland area, I'll have to watch the video tape when we hook up again. Maybe Lisa could bring it to WFFC? 8. Bad girl, where's your helmet? When I was as Keystone on Friday, I was shocked by the number of people that still don't wear helmets. I wouldn't be on the board without one. I trust my skill level, it's the other people out there I don't trust. Plus you never know what you'll run into doing a tree run. You be safe and have fun. We'll have to get together for a trip some time. I don't do weekends. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 9. I just got back from boarding at Keystone today. Very warm. Only had a few items of clothing on. I wear a ski/board helmet and when I went in for lunch, my hair was wet. The factory diver lens will fog, don't try it. Just rent a helmet at a ski shop. When are you going? What ever you do, stay away from the slopes on a weekend day, that is unless you like to stand in lines. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 10. Bill, I don't know if I could put up with those kinds of temps during the winter. IMO, the warm temps bring out all the traffice and smog problems. As for us in Colorado, it's been wonderfully warm, mid 50's. But gee, we could use some snow down in the foothills. The mountains are okay enough for a day on the board, so off I go on Friday. (sneaking out of work to go play ) May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  11. They are in my thoughts. Sad, very sad. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  12. You live in L.V. right? Take up rock climbing. Without the changing seasons you can go out any time, except in the heat of the day. Plus after you learn how to rapple you can join WFFC and myself and do a rapple jump from a hot air balloon. 13. Yes! I couldn't agree more! Plus, if you are the type to do things for selfish reasons, many of them are potty-trained and fixed. But, whatever you do, freebird...NEVER BUY FROM A PET STORE!*** Right again. Most dogs at pet stores come from puppy mills that breed the dogs just for the money. The living conditions there are awful. My Muffin Doodle's on his last few months...and he's not always sociable to new dogs...it takes him awhile to be "friends" with them. The first dog I got was a doby mix and I had him about four years when he was diagnosed with cancer. He's already had two surgeries and I've promised him no more. He wasn't doing well till I brought in the golden mix. Now it's like he's a youngster all over again. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 14. Great idea Val. That's how I got my three dogs. It almost seems that the dogs know they have been rescued and love you more for it. I started out just being a foster mom to two of them, one a Golden mix and the other a Sheltie.(even have papers on this one) After they got health I decided to keep them. Ugh.....I need a bigger house if this keeps up. Oh don't wait, that is unless it's really a bunny. You don't want the dog to eat the bunny. My dogs wear each other out. 15. After my children's husband died, his family tried to take my children from me. They didn't win in court, the judge just laughed. One year later I was back in court after being told I had cancer. The In Laws were once again trying to take my children from me because I had cancer. Again, the judge laughed. I don't know how it works in Texas, but here in Colorado if you're not hooking or doing drugs, you are awared your children. I was like a mother bear protecting my children. Get to a lawyer now. Don't use the excuse that "my parents make more money than me." You can find a lawyer that works on a sliding scale. If your parents are as bad as you say, just think what kind of ideas they are putting into your daughter's head. Do you want that? FIGHT AND DON'T GIVE UP, or else your daughter will be the one who gets hurt in this situation. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 16. I'll be there L.O. out of tent three. I'd be happy to help organize a jump or two or three for the DZ.com group. That is if Bill doesn't mind May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  17. I never wear any jewelry when skydiving or any sport. If I'm in the plane and I discover I forgot to take something off, I put it in my jumpsuit pocket. At the end of the day it's right wear I left it. Why take the chance and wear the jewelry, after all, it's not a fashion show were attending. 18. Oh no, and you expect me to wait for your call? Gee, what a tease. Not to worry everyone, once I get the full story I'll fill you all in on it Back in town? Where the heck are you? Oh I got it, with Amy. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  19. I'm so excited, I ran to my mail box after Lisa ask if I had gotten my JFTC video yet. Darn, the mail hadn't been delivered yet. One hour later I was back out there. YES! It's here.
  20. Work on muscle memory. This is what I teach: Lay down on the floor in front of a mirror. Close your eyes and put yourself in the flying position that you feel you are in when you are in freefall. Open your eyes and look in the mirror. Are your legs really out? I'm thinking they are not, since you're not moving forward. Now, put your legs out, close your eyes and feel every muscle in your legs, what does it feel like? Memorize that feeling. Relax, close your eyes and try to go back into the correct body position. Also jumping with someone that can give you a good debrief and with video will help. Good luck. 21. The fire department in Loveland Colorado hands them out and installs them for free. No reason not to have one. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  22. Yup, that's it. I know drugs are "bad", but the shoulder feels so good now. Doctor said that if the pain comes back in four to six weeks, the next step is surgery, but I'm not ready to go under the knife again. I'll just get another shoot and wait till next winter for surgery. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 23. I've heard rumors that Don is wanting to do some kind of boogie during the winter season in some kind of tropic location. I'M THERE if it happens. 24. Could it be old age I did something to my shoulder back in October. I was really hurting while I was there doing all those jumps. I thought it was because I was sleeping in different beds and doing lots of jumps in a short time frame. Even after getting back home and sleeping in my own bed and no skydiving, the shoulder was still hurting. Went to the doctor and he ordered six weeks of P.T. After three weeks the pain was worse. Went back to the doctor and he gave me a shot of something right in the shoulder. (sorry, can't remember what it was, and even if I could, I'm sure I couldn't spell it.) Shoulder is great now, it's allowing me to sleep through the night, and that makes me very happy. Stick with the P.T. and if that doesn't work, get to the doctor and yell for some good drugs.
