  1. Is there also a note with your name, home address, telephone number, $2, and the reason you went to the store? Hey, you must have seen me out shopping the other day May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 2. I too still f*** on skydives. (hey, Bill, do you do what I do when you're LO at WFFC and mess up? Blame the low timer, their awarness isn't up to speed yet ) The only reason I don't lose my keys is cause when I walk into the house, I hang them up. When I'm out and about they are around my neck. Freebird, it sounds like you're not having a good couple of days. Let it go, life is too short to get all stressed out. 3. Yes, she and her husband did make that rig. You are so right Lori, it's all in how you approach the subject with some jumpers. Ego tends to get in the way sometimes. Now I'm sure I opened a can of worms on that statement May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 4. Okay, so when I win the lottery you and I can get together and open up a rescue shelter. Since I don't have the money now, being a foster parent is the next best thing. If everyone that post to these forums fostered just one animal, think how empty the pounds would be. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 5. Here in Loveland Colorado, the Humane Society and Animal Control are the same branch. After so many days the animals get "put to sleep". I just recently rescued a dog from the Denver Humane Society, and talk about a pit From my knowledge the only people that don't put down animals, is a specific rescue group for that breed of animal. That's how I got two of my three dogs, from a rescue group. It's a great way to get a breed that you've always wanted, but weren't willing to pay the high price for them. 6. I always send my dad a gift on Father's Day. He spoils me, so I try to spoil him back. My dad is the best, he was at the JFTC every day, and even pick up girls at the airport when they arrived and drove them out to Perris. I love my Pop May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  7. Oh, I know her, and if you were to point that out to her, she would have gone off............. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  8. And it doesn't cost much. All my animals also have the "tag". It's about the size of a grain of rice. It's a great comfort to me that the animals have that tag, you never know when the collar will get lost. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 9. I just brought another rescue dog into my group. She is a wonderful Golden that was almost starved to death. I have gotten all my pets through being a foster parent. I admit, it's hard work getting the animals back up to speed, but when they get placed in a great home it's so worth all the effort I've put in. It's even better when I decide to keep them. advice

My children lost their dad in a skydiving related accident when they were 7 and 9 years old. The worst part about the accident was that we were all on the DZ when it happened. Luckily the accident happened far enough away that none of us saw it and I didn't know what happened till I arrived to the hospital. Since Jack and I both skydived, and I still do, and had children we followed and listened to that inner voice if we didn't feel comfortable about a situation. One of the things we did was never got in the same jump craft. That was just us. After Jack's death I had to think long and hard about continuing in the sport, afterall, I was now on my owe raising two children. It took me six months after his death to finally get back in the air, and I was a nervous wreak thinking about all the "what if's". BTW, it was my children that pushed me back into skydiving. I still listen to that inner voice and if there is one thing I don't like about a situation, I don't get on the plane, or if I'm already on the plane, I don't jump. And I never let peer pressure make the decision for me. When Luke and Adam are old enough to start skydiving, I know they will do it. Luke is 17 and counting down the days till he can jump. I've taken them both to the wind tunnel and they have put in their time there, just to let them know a tad about freefall. Not to say that the tunnel replaces the freefall training, I just thought it would be good practice for them. QuoteAnyway my problem is dealing with the fact that skydiving does have risk factors and I have been feeling guilty when I jump. reply] You need to ask yourself if the guilt is distracting from your safety. When you're skydiving, being distracted in the last thing you want to be happening. So, IMO you are the one that needs to do some soul searching and answer that question for yourself. There will always be another time that you can take up the sport, when you are more comfortable. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 11. Val, You're so right I'm glad to see that you remembered. Now I don't have to remind you again. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  12. [reply You must have never met Amazona, she is a cutie, and Cajones, is the keeper of all things Mexican and sacred (or some other weird as title) Quatorze Rodriguez, RB#767 So sorry, I thought with a name like Lew, it was a guy. I should have gone to the web site and looked it up. There are just too many brothers to keep track of. Forgive me brother Amazona? 13. But remember, he still need to be brought to the altar. That's the best part. I don't think he wants Amazona or Cajones doing the "altar dance" with him. Not to worry, I'm sure there will be plenty of bumpy brothers to bring you to the altar. Good luck to you and keep us posted. 14. It depends on the ski/boarding ability of the folks that are going. Breck and Keystone offer some easy runs along with more difficult. They are both about an hour and half drive from Denver. Cooper Mt. is bigger than Breck or Keystone, and a bit farther, but worth the drive. You can pre buy lift tickets on their web site, and that saves some $. You can also pre buy lift tickets at most sporting good stores in the Denver area. Stay away from Vail and Aspen if you want to save $ on lift tickets. Besides, if you don't have alot of experience, you wouldn't be able to hit most of the runs there, since they are so big. Steamboat tends to get the most snow, but it is about a four hour drive from Denver. I suggest checking out the resorts on their web sites. Before I head up to any slopes, I do that, checking on the lastest snow fall. Since you'll be coming from out of town, I would suggest waiting at least 24 hours after landing at DIA before hitting the slopes. Altitude sickness can suck. 15. Do I have to remind you again, that I'm off work till Jan. 6th? May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  16. I'm sure there is a lot of work that goes into making a video and DVD than most skydivers know. Yes, I am very excited about getting my DVD, but I want a good product, so you guys go ahead and take the time that is needed to put something as wonderful at the WFFC tape/DVD together. (how was that? now does Michael and mine stunt make the DVD? ) Famosa May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 17. Then you need to be brought into the family at the witching hour of midnight laying on the altar. At that time a bumpy brother will bring you into the family. I'm sure there are some brothers in Eloy that will help you out. Unfortuntly brother Arano and I won't be in Eloy to help out. Besides, I think I've brought enough brothers into the family this year, let some of my other bumpy brothers do some work. 18. Way back in the days when I was a S/L JM, I had a 206 load with five firefighters. The one nearest the door refused to go. If any of you know, a 206 with five S/L students plus on JM, that's a tight fit. There was no way I was going to land with a full plane load. Lucky for me, I'm small enough that I just kind of stood up, hung out the door kinda, and moved students around. After I got all the guys out of the plane, the student that didn't want to go, decided he would go. Afterall, all his friends had just done it, and did fine. I'm glad I took the time and effort to allow the guy to do the jump. Life would have sucked for him, having to go back to the firehouse and be teased by his buddies. As for money back for students that don't go, I think that each DZ has their own policy. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 19. I can relate. One place that I use to work at, one of my fellow employees butted into a conversation I was having with someone else. All he caught from the conversation was the word "skydive." That's when he went off and starting talking all about how wonderful skydiving is and how much experience he had. Naturally I gave him enough rope to hang himself wit When a guy starts talking skydiving to a female like myself, it's easier for us to catch them in a lie. I think it's because they are first, trying to impress us, and second, don't even think that a female could skydive. Back in my younger college days I loved it when I caught a guy in a lie when he was trying the "pick-up" line in a bar. 20. Oh, I forgot to mention. $500 plus 7 paid days off. Merry Christmas. Are you hiring? Am willing to relocate. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
  21. If I'm correct, there is no way I could keep you off that altar In fact, I'll made a bet with you, let's say some jump tickets For every night that you're on the altar, you owe me a jump ticket. For every night I'm on the altar, I'll give you a jump ticket. I'm guessing I'll be spending more time in the air than you May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 22. So sorry you have to go to a meeting. In fact, I'm sorry that you have to work. Me, I'm a stay at home mom right now since the college is on Christmas break. Even when I do work, it's only about five hours a week. I know, life sucks May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. 23. I laughed so hard when I read this cause I could just see some guy in the hot tub giving his dog a bath. Plead insanity and beg for forgiveness. There is a really cool place in the town where I live, it's a self serve doggie bath house. Really cool, you take the dog there, give them a bath, use the blow dryer to dry them off, and leave the mess there. I have three dogs, so naturally I have bought stock in the place. 24. Dogs will act out when they are upset or mad at you. Calm down and ask yourself if there may be a reason why the dogs are acting up. I have a full house when it comes to pets. Three dogs and two cats, I just can't say "No" when it comes to rescue of a poor animal. The most recent one is a Golden which was left on a chain in the pre owners yard. The owner moved and left the dog. (she only weighted 38 pounds when I got her, and you could feel every bone in her body ) She is such a sweetheart. The only problem, since she was left outside most of her life, I don't trust her when I leave the house. I am a strong believer of the crate or kennel training. (I don't say cage, since I don't want the dogs to ever think they are being punished when I put them in there.) I've done that with all my dogs and it works great. Also, I take all the dogs for a daily walk, a few miles, that seems to relax them. Good luck, and don't be mad at the dogs May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
