true no one gets drunk by accident. all alchol does is loosen your inhibitions. so if you get drunk and mess around on your girlfriend/boyfriend, you were already thinking about doing it or just dont give a dam for your relationship. either way you should have ended the relationship like a decent human being long ago. ----------------------------------------------------------- Amen, I second that. Don't use alcohol as an excuse to screw around. Be a descent human being and walk away from the situation. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. You do exactly what I do. For me, once the door is open, or I have to stick my head out for the spot, I'm fine. I wouldn't have made it to almost 3,000 skydives if I didn't enjoy it. What you said. I posted this somewhere else a little bit ago, but I'll say it again. When I had about 100 jumps, I went to my instructor and told him I was still nervous/scared. He said "Good, the day you stop, is the day you should get out of the sport." It's been a little over 22 years now, and I'm still nervous on every jump. Each person has to find their own comfort level. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. My first mal was 22 years ago under a PC and because of my lack of experience and how scared I was, I fired the reserve when I was belly to earth. That's what I love about the family, so many of my bumpy sister willing to step up to the altar and help out a bumpy sister in need. Hey, were where you when I needed you a few weeks ago at 10:00 in the morning after a balloon jump. Nothing like doing body shots at that hour May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Besides, being on your own allows you to have more fun at the WFFC. Just think, if there was a boyfriend standing there watching you bring brothers into the family. What do you think he would have to say to you later that night May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. I worked at a DZ for years and when we had weekend after weekend of bad weather, I never had a problem "suggesting" to a student to travel to a warmer DZ to finish the program. I don't work at a DZ now, and find that I don't really have a home DZ. I've been labeled an "event jumper" because I love to travel and visit so many different DZs. I suggest you go to a DZ that has better weather so that you can finish up your program and be ready for the season. If you have to make another trip to stay current, so be it. Think of the different opportunity you will be exposed to jumping at different DZs. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. QuoteAhhhh. Now I can relax! The tension all the way over here in Colorado was intense, and just about the time that I would say I have to post something about my anxiety, flyangel would beat me to it! ] Sorry Mustard, I was just so nervous about the jump. Having been on big ways, I know all the bad stuff that can happen. Wow, I'm so glad they got it and everyone is okay. New Rig Colors...HELP!!!!!
flyangel2 replied to moodyskydiver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What Cajones said. Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you say that you'll be ordering a canopy later, I think you said a 210 or 190? Good choice if you're experience level is lower. Before you know it, you'll be wanting to downsize the canopy and then the rig will be too big. I say buy used till you are under the size canopy that you'll be using for a long time. Just my 2 cents worth. BTW, I've been jumping for over 20 years and have only bought one custom rig. All the others were used, and it worked out find for me -

I had about 100 jumps when I went to my instructor and confessed to him that I was still nervous before my jumps. His answer: Good, that's what keeps you alive. The minute you take it for granted, is when scary stuff will happen. I have almost 3,000 skydives now, and I remember what he said every time I get ready to leave the plane. Don't worry, you'll find your comfort level. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Hey, Lambchop does a great job. Mallory and Brad have done a great deal to bring skydiving some positive enlightenment to the general public. Not to mention the amount of money that Jump for the Cause events have given to charities. I guess you had to grow up with Lamb Chop to understand how she pulls at the heart strings. Barbara Duke lost her helmet on one dive but managed to get to her slot and stay in it. Bill, tell Barbara she rocks Getting into her slot after losing her helmet. Peter, Here is a picture of the Otter that Jeff looked at. I hope I posted the picture right. Make sure you keep this a secret, I don't think he wants anyone to know about it. legal age for starting skydiving in USA
flyangel2 replied to Unutsch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I worked at a DZ for years and this is the way the DZO explained it to me. USPA has guildlines, not rules. So it's up to each DZO as to what age they will allow someone to jump. I'm not sure, but it's there some kind of guildlines that some of the Tandem manufactures have? If those guildlines are "bent" I believe the Tandem JM can loose their license. Here's the tricky part. A waiver can be signed by a guardian. The guardian that signs the waiver is giving up their right to sue if something were to happen to the minor. Also from what I understand, the minor also can't sue. But, if there are grandparents, uncles, aunts, sisters, brothers, etc out there that haven't signed the waiver, they can sue. So, alot of it depends on the DZO. I'm sure there is a lawyer out there that can answer this question better. Just because a waiver is signed doesn't mean that you can't try to sue. I've seen it happen, and I've seen the jumper win. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Would this be a good jump plane?
flyangel2 replied to kevin922's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
And the rounded door made it impossible to have much of an exit. I remember once being inside watching a 4-way exit -- I think it was flyangel who had both of her feet standing right on top of everybody else's when she gave the count. Mustard is right, the door is rounded and hard to get that many jumpers out. Not to mention how cold that plane is in the winter time. I say stay with an Otter
