  5. Hi and welcome normally jump at hib but will be bringing a team up to cark this summer to meet up with the brunton mob great views over the lakes and bay will look out for you Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. Michael Pritchard.
  6. A couple of other points I thought off if your jumping camera on one make sure you know which way to break off closing speeds are horrendous and make sure its not p*ssing it down when you do a hop and pop from ten grand unless your wearing a wet suit and have underwater cameras believe me you can not get any wetter if you tried and watching your canopy fill with water is a strange experience every time you hit the brakes you get a waterfall pouring all over you Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. 7. me and my better half met through skydiving she stopped jumping a few years ago but she still comes to the DZ with me and we are still happily married fifteen years later
  8. done three and jumped camera on a few others the way we did them the canopy guy sits in the door facing out passenger sits on his legs facing in now the tricky bit pilot chute is extracted and someone in the door holds onto it the two roll out of the door and the guy holding the pilot chute waits till it is dragged out of his hand you should have full deployment just out of the door when the canopy is open the passenger can climb up and stand on the other guys shoulders its easy to stand there just holding onto the front lines then get the pilot to hit the brakes and just dive off just don't use a wrist mount alti there is a small hole in the dz at brunton somewhere and make sure you get off in plenty of time as you will be jumping in dead air have fun
  9. For the best fun get the pilot to take it to 5000/6000ft and slow down to a hover. stand on the skids and step off backwards make sure everyone leaves at the same time. dropping in dead air is real fun. be aware if you go unstable it can take a long time to build up enough speed to work with. just go do it and enjoy the experience
  10. Had it happen to me third jump on the sam just had slinks fitted (forgot to specify slinks when i ordered) slider came down and took the RH brake off remember thinking what the f**k got on the rear risers straight away and controlled it to some extent reached up and got the other brake off all ok it hadn't had time to spin up i think if i hadn't been as quick on the risers i'd have been getting off it though Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. 11. Hi At my home DZ (Hibaldstow) we have 2 DO28 Dornier - G92 (15 place twin turbine) 1 Turbo Finist - SMG92 (10 place single turbine) 1 Piper Alpha PA32 - Cherokee 6 (5 place piston aircraft) The turbines do 15000ft on every lift and the dornier climbs like an homesick angel Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. 12. Hi all just liked to share an incident that happened to me on Friday. second jump of the day and setting up for landing flew through a small patch of long grass surrounding the area. well you can guess what's coming next. put my right foot through a loop of grass it stopped I didn't it twisted me around and inadvertently I hauled down on the left toggle canopy hit the ground before I did. end result no bones broken but damaged tendons right leg and bruising to my neck and shoulders. I was lucky it could have been much worse beware the long grass lets be careful out there Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. Michael Pritchard.
  13. My DZ (Hibaldstow) offers jump tickets at £16.50 each or £150.00 for ten good value for 15000ft every lift and usually 16000ft had two out of the last three dives from 16000ft They also have Three turbine aircraft with inflight doors and heaters that work. (its still cold here in england)
  14. My kid brother moved to canada a few years back and this post reminded me of a post he sent me just had to dig it out and share.

    mr. Bill!

Have done two and been the anchor man for quite a few others. The best one was when I got off at 7000ft and did a swallow dive down to 3500ft. The way we did them was to static line the canopy. (anchor man holds onto pilot chute) and the mister bill rolls out of the door. That way the pilot can hold onto you it still nearly tears your arms of though Mickb Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. Michael Pritchard.

  17. Good point Michele How many people have had a funny feeling and ignored it Only to have something happen. Something that happened to me a few years ago Had a nightmare about not been able to get the reserve out. Ignored it I hadn’t jumped for a few weeks so I put it down to that. It happened twice more that week. The last one was the night before we drove up to the dz. I decided to pop the reserve (it was almost due for a repack) Put my rig on and standing in my living room went through the drill. Cutaway ok grabbed the silver and pulled. Nothing I was stood there swinging on the handle there was no way that reserve was coming out. Took the rig off and inspected the pin and cable. Found that it had been packed with all the slack cable at the pin side. The slack cable had formed a loop and was pulled into the soft housing Preventing the cable from pulling the pin. My wife and I just looked at each other mouths open. I took out the loop and tried again this time the pull was ok We packed up and drove to the DZ for the weekend Had the reserve repacked and made sure all the slack was at the handle side. First jump an uneventful four way down to 3500ft Turned away and tracked and dumped the main at 2500ft It opened with pressure knots in the line group and end cell closure Found out I could fly it with slight brakes on the opposite side At this point I was undecided about chopping it. Normally I would have chopped it but I still had what happened On my mind and as I had an 175ft fairly docile canopy I decided to land it. Big mistake got down to about fifteen hundred feet when I hit severe turbulence And the whole thing turned into a bag of crap. No hesitation chop The relief at looking up and seeing a good reserve was indescribable. But if I had ignored it Mickb
