The DZO can also tell someone that there not going to jump with a certain canopy. So if we hold the seller of a canopy responsible for some ones decision to jump a particular canopy, and blacklist them, should we also set up a blacklist of DZO's who lets person jump a canopy which is clearly above there ablility. I'm not sure. The bottom line is we are responsible for our own actions in everything we do. It's just more apparent in skydiving. P.S. As was mentioned in an earlier post. It really sucks to lose a friend you know under a fully functioning canopy. These two activities cant be compared. In skydiving(160+), the earths gravitational force is pulling our bodies towards her center, and we use the 'air' to move around that line. In a wind tunnel(30+), The primary use for the 'air' is to defy the earths gravitational force. I remember one time in freefall thinking of myself as an electron from an excited state undergoing fluorescence and falling down to the ground state, and wondering if I was glowing. Then when I deployed my main, I imagined myself as the electron moving to the tripelt excited state, thus causing me to undergo phosphorescence, which of course is a slower process then fluorescence. Hence I was able to land safely.

This is a thought provoking question. However I feel that it would be somewhat irresponsible for me NOT to skydive. I hope that one of the things I teach my son (who is 3) is to follow his dreams in life even if there are acceptable risks involved. Life alone is full of risks, our risks just seem to be more imminent. As it is, the dropzone is one of my sons favorite places to be. He loves to watch is dad come down from the sky, and he loves planes.
