  1. My comment would be you are expecting the gear, (the reseve to )perform well beyond it's task
  2. You know there are other people who build perfectly good parachutes and have good costomer service and offer all the same colors and features. Open your eyes, look around, see a bigger broader world. large 7/9 cell medium 7/9 cell medium 9 cell small 9 cell medium cross brace small cross brace
  3. you got to love a good blast handle they stay in PLACE and only slightly sticky to unjam. The cable strength is 920 lbs. and the swage in threory should be equal. Of course the test are to a lessor force (600 as stated) just so they don't break em as they make em. Quote
  4. Hi Here is a photo of my Samuri 120 It's a sweet sled!
  5. Just to emphasis the point. A hook turn is a screwed up swoop. Really it's a hard toggle turn close enough to the ground that you have ZERO chance of swinging under the parachute and getting level. hutch
  6. Hi read very carfully on the face plate of the fxc . It recommends 1500ft separation. As does the manual Hutch
  7. Hi I am a experienced skydiver and recently became a thrid kidney user. I had my transplant 2 year 3 month 13 days ago. AS a confident jumper with a bunch of jumps I now find I am limited to 3-4 jumps a weekend. If I do more I cannot jump for a week or two. I wear an elastic back support to support my kidney from under neath and this helps. I tried a rigid girdle ...it sucked. Not to discourage you but keep in mind that we loss calicum for our bones and get very brittle sooner than other people. Our extra kidney is not protected the way the natural kidneys are. A landing that most people might shrug off can cause great damage (kill us). Make sure that your family knows you are accepting the risk.. You not not want your doctor or DZO in trouble because of your desire to skydive. Hutch
  8. wow no body jumped in with a bunch of comments Sorry I have not jumped one Hutch
  9. Well my understanding (as a rigger) is that the"normal" bag orietation and the cupped corners of the rig combine to cause the bag to pivot and break the flaps open. I'll accept feed back on this from peolpe who remember what a jeasus cord was or have jump a b4 container. buried in the design section of the rigger bible is background on this as well. Oh by the way Yes I am current ...very. hutch mr tq2
  10. The slowest packer in the universe is kevin S. From Winnipeg Manitoba. Feilds of wheat are planted growwn and harvested in the time it takes him. Hutch
  11. Your Raven is a fine hard openning , soft landings reserve. Do not sell it because it is not the current hot thing. Realistically the perormance differences in lower aspect ratio canopies(equally loaded etcs) are minimal. having said that I like my 126 at 165 pounds it provides good lift on landing, but does not reach a full stop. for the record I liked raven too. hutch

  15. other might discourage from this skill a skill that can save you life on a bad spot. Or prove your qualification for a demo. First good control of the wind line. fly over the target with in 1yard left oright. Second learn set up point selection so you part brake in within to =- 2 meters forward and back Use the brakes a bit more. the Sport accuacy standard would indicat go to full speed mini swope flare. Learn the height length involved hutch

  19. " Clean cutaway cables every 30 days with Ace Pure Silicone Lubricant, sold at Ace Hardware stores, to keep cutaway pull forces low. " Have you every tried just leaving the cables clean and dry of all these " lubricants that build up ghunk in the housing? If you do not start the cycle of ghunk build up ...hey ... no high pull forces. Hutch
  20. I think this thread should look at the issues of snatch force and openning shock. And as examples of functions of each do a comparision ccontrast between a free baged square reserve ( NO line stows and a long bridle) and a main ( short bridle many line stows) hutch
