2 pointsGood information and it's always great hearing from Slim. Now, back to the war: Ukraine, after feinting the long awaited counter attack in the Kherson Region, poured through Russian lines near Kharkiv and are pushing fast towards the Russian border. Surely they'll soon turn North and South to widen the salient, consolidate the gains, and resupply but there is no doubt the Russians are once again proving incompetent at war fighting while the Ukrainians are showing real ability. For 6 months the Ukrainians have allowed their Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) to bear the brunt of holding the Russians to a minimum of gains while they trained their regular forces in combined arms tactics and the use of Western arms. This is the result of that long game. My hope is that all who thought it was good money wasted in Ukraine will now agree it was a great investment in World Democracy and resolve to do more right now.

1 pointHi Ken, They can only do this if the GOP meddling with the election process allows them to do so. One thing we know for damn sure, the GOP does not want to let people vote in free & honest elections. Jerry Baumchen

1 pointFIFY Seriously, that type of person is far, far, faaaaaar more interested in hurting the people they hate than helping the (very few) people they care about. They supported Trump because of it. Then they found out he didn't give a shit about them. They found out he didn't care who he hurt. Remember the 'he's hurting the wrong people' quote?

1 pointEvery Republican who posts here needs to reflect on these easily provable facts. The smoke filled back room is now the fresh air of a chat room. No longer will your party of choice be able to pull off their anti-democratic, ideologically vacant, self serving power grabs that oppose the will of a clear majority of Americans all while hidden safely away from the light of day. That's over. Most importantly, you will never again be able to pretend you didn't know, that you couldn't know, either because they're all crooks and everybody does it, or owing to whatever other narcotic you are using to block out reality. That day is done. They are lying. It is provable. How they vote, and what they say in private, is available to everyone in real time online, where you obviously are if you are reading this, and if you continue to deny that truth it means you are lying, too. There it is, sport fans, and that is why many on the left are so pissed and impatient: the right thinks we are still somehow obligated to treat obvious bullshit as reasonable positions for discussion. Well, no thanks. The Republican party of today are thieves, liars, and charlatans. They care first about harming Democrats and a distant second about the people they represent. The mid-terms are coming; you'll never get a better chance to prove you aren't a pawn in their insidious larger game. Or just say it out loud: I don't give a fuck about America or other Americans if I get mine while I'm alive.

1 pointIndeed. After banging the drum of anti-abortion for decades, just to gain the support of the American Taliban, they suddenly find themselves in the awkward position of the dog that caught the car.

1 pointSeems like the GOP might be regretting what it wished for: Kansas, now SC: https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/09/politics/south-carolina-senate-near-total-abortion-ban-bill-fails/index.html

1 pointI'm personally amazed that he chose Charles, given the chequered history that has befallen previous kings of that name.

1 pointWhy? Because the FBI are not morons! Spent an hour talking to one agent this afternoon - we had a blast. Learned a lot about the mechanics of filing for Lab work in 71 ... (Lab was in Wash DC). We think the frags collected at T Bar were sent to the Lab and may still be stored there! Then (agent was cleaning out his barn as we talked) I asked: "tell me exactly how the twelve groups turned in by the Ingrams got separated into single bills and placed in evidence folders, who did that ...." ? "Was done by the Lab, submitted by the case manager in Seattle.... must have been a huge job ... they may have farmed it out to the Treasury Lab .... but everything came back to Seattle in folders ..... maybe took a month .... was told it was 'one helluva a job!' ? ... and there were still fragments stuck they didnt get separated! " Lot of fun. to be continued ....

1 pointI think you make a good point; there will end up being decent tests for battery capacity, to be used at the time of sale, and verified, just as mileage is used as well. Because it's important, and mileage is not the only determinant -- different driving styles will most likely affect the longevity of the battery. Wendy P.
